[Webcomic] James McKade, Ace Reporter

This is James McKade, a reporter that likes to interview all kinds of people, from all kinds of places. He enjoys browsing through video games, movies, and any other interesting places to get his latest story.

I wanted to try this out because I would not really call myself an artist, but I have a lot of ideas for a series like this, so I wanted to try to share them in some way. I want to thank Rick Griffin (of Housepets!) and Tim Weeks (of Savestate), whose comics influenced me to do this, and influenced this art style. I am hoping to be able to get something out once a week, on Saturdays, but school is coming up, so I will do what I can. I only very recently started drawing, so it takes me a pretty long amount of time to make these. Hopefully some of you will get enjoyment out of them, and hopefully I will become a better artist with the practice that these provide... (For some reason, I can never get the hands right... :P) Anyway, enjoy!

They will only be one-panel comics for the time being, because I like that kind of format.

TODAY: James McKade finds out what is behind the curtain...

Heh, great work, I look forward to seeing where Mr. McKade goes.
And if in to all sorts of ideas, here's one, have him try and interview a creeper from Minecraft, heh.

Hands and feet are some of the toughest things to draw. It takes a lot of practice to do them well from what I've seen.

But if you want to become a better artist, you're doing the right thing. Just keep drawing. You'll get faster and better as time goes on. Once you get a lot of the basics figured out, you'll start to figure out the more complex stuff, like shading.

Just a personal tip: If you really are serious about learning how to draw, buy a few books or look up some (genuine) art guides online. They'll teach you the proper ways to do things before you get stuck doing them wrong. If you don't, you'll have a really tough time un-teaching yourself the bad habits you could pick up.

Brent guessed correctly! Although, a run-in with the ginosaji does also result in an inevitable and slow death as well, Hukley :P
And yes, humanoid characters will be drawn as animals, because it's more interesting that way.

WEEK 02

...AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN...

Hehe, nice, looks like McKade can defend himself with that big sword... I still stick with my creeper idea for Minecraft too, though if that doesn't work for you here's another idea for thought... Go to The Elder Scrolls world and interview a certain M'aiq the Lair...

Why not both?

This actually ended up being a lot harder than I thought it would be, but...It's something.

WEEK 03

Looks like he won't have those butter shoes for long...

Just had a look through my games, and one looks like it could work.

Would it be possible for James McKade to visit the Kerbal Space Program.

the other half of that sentence wasn't,

"-A palette glitched malfunctioning pig model, left over from an early build, That Notch decided to re-use as a monster."

by any chance?

Hehe, Game of Thrones, nice, very funny indeed... He should still try to interview M'aiq the Lair, though that Kerbal Space Program one sounds like it would be funny... Makes me think he should go interview someone from Mass Effect, like Commander Shepard... Heh, can only think of video games when it comes to who should McKade interview...

Well, you're doing a great job, keep it up, I'm loving this!

Thanks for the support! I just recently started school again, so that will take up quite a bit of time, but I should be able to manage a comic a week still.
In regards to suggestions, skyrim is in the works, but I have never player kerbal, and I'm not sure where I would start with it. I'll look more into it, but I have no idea where I could go with it.

TOMORROW: James McKade goes golfing, with a very...persuasive...gentleman.

Heh, only thing I can think of with that quote is that it's from Logan's Run... And if so I can see why he needs a club, hehe... If not then my wild shot in the dark hit me then, hehe...

And what's sad is I finally noticed the little sayings on top of the attachments too, just made me laugh at the comics all over again... Just amazing work, keep it up... Look forward to seeing that farm...

Also, finally got an idea not from a video game, should've been more obvious of a suggestion, but with my long list already here's another one, do something from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy... Arthur Dent would be funny to interview, or Ford Prefect...

James is interviewing Andrew Ryan, from the Bioshock game series. In terms of story, it is my favorite game series ever, and I would highly suggest playing it. Just don't look up any information about it, because there are some massive and infamous spoilers associated with it.

I never played the Bioshock series, but I really like the way that fox dresses. I can see from the caption at the top that James is at a loss as to what to call this story.
