Like a classic southern gentleman, one for dueling pistols at dawn. But that is a long boom stick.
The scene I was going for in my drawing was from Poltergeist (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN8G9Wsnb6s).

Haven't watched horror movies or that movie because I'm not really into horror but all I know if the scene where Heather O'Rourke (gone too soon) was sucked into the television.

Inktober Day 18 - Trap
Mirage: “Sickle, when I get down, I’m not chewing.”
Sickle: “Well, you’ll have to catch me first. Toodles!”
Had to hunt down a couple references for this.

Like the composition D-Rock! The ears are cool too. Re drew my last attempt to try to get a better stance, still not sure, any thoughts welcome. Daunted.

Great job on those creations you guys! I love the way they look and the one with Sickle and Mirage is very funny!
So I assume he's over the pie in the face now?
(That was me trying to be funny, even though it was a really bad attempt at it.)

Relish this transient joy Sickle. It's about to be weasel season.
Good work on the shading Ddeer.

Hopefully he kept some of the black licorice extract from when he spiked Mirage’s hot wings.

Well not to him. Also, I have to be truthful and say I kind of like him without the eyelashes. Not sure if his species is supposed to have them though.

Re: Art Thread
I'm personally fine with Sickle's design, with or without eyelashes. With eyelashes, he looks a bit more like a jester. And I suppose his "who me- I wouldn't do that" look would be more effective.
But will black licorice extract save him from Awakened Olive?
Olive: *Puts on Viking helmet and big boots* "It's weasel stomping day!"

Re: Art Thread
Most images of the kamaitachi, the legendary creature Sickle is based off of, show what would be a regular weasel, just with literal sickles for front paws. Also for the most part, his design was SuperStar’s idea. I think I just added in the eyelashes so that he’d look less plain.
And didn’t think of someone else getting back at him, Bat. Sickle should be more wary.
Inktober Day 21 - Sleep Fluffy tails make the best blankets. Very early moment of Armon with a young Marble and David.

That really is heart-warming. A proud leader/warrior and a nurturing single dad.

Inktober Day 22 - Chef
After multiple attempts, Macabre finally relented and had someone else cook dinner for his date with Mirage. Luckily, he knew a guy. Decided to throw in Rocky for once.

So have you decided to make Rocky your chef for the Celestials then? I have to ask because you said you couldn't figure out a place for him. That is something that could work. Nice job on it Rocky!

Re: Art Thread
What is it that you're serving? Leviathan, Shadhavar, hotdogs in the shape of a roast, or something else you can serve to Infernals and Celestials alike?
Re: Art Thread
Thanks. Rocky is here mostly as a cameo. I initially intended the days prompt to just feature him, but then decided to involve the couple. Mostly because in a past art trade I did with Dusk, they drew Macabre’s failed attempt at cooking something. Figured I’d tie things to that.Amazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 4:01 pm So have you decided to make Rocky your chef for the Celestials then? I most definitely didn’t consider making it some ultra-exotic meat, but now I’d like to say thanks for the ideas! Makes sense that they’d have access to animals we could only dream of. I have wanted to make a comic showing that Mirage has indeed eaten meat from fantasy creatures, just have yet to get around to it.dryideabat wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 7:59 pm What is it that you're serving? Incredibly touching picture that you drew again Rocky! I don't recognize the character though mostly because I'm scatterbrained so you are gonna have to tell me outright. I don't even recognize the name on the stone. Is this a character you had before?
Re: Art Thread
I was hoping the sword would be enough of a clue. The cross is for Armon’s mate. This is the first I mention her name.

Well like I said, I am completely oblivious to a lot of things except the post that I am replying to and I'm not that good at figuring out who some characters are.
Though I did now after you revealed it remember that Artemis CAN be a female name.

Re: Art Thread
Gosh that's really sad. Poor Armon. At least he has Marble left to remember her by each day.
Ah, and Artemis. Named after the Greek goddess of the hunt I assume? I'm sure she was very enchanting.
Here's a little sketch inspired by a scene from another horror movie with a Jerry Goldsmith score. I assume no one here has seen the original Omen (1976). In one scene, there's a creepy whispering chant (in Latin) that matches an approaching Rottweiler's breathing/steps.

Re: Art Thread
I’ve been wondering how to explain Armon and Artemis’ relationship, but I’m not sure when I’ll get to that. Both were soft-spoken, though becoming more open with Armon
led to her being more open with everyone in general. She was also one of their best hunters. Yup, named after the Greek goddess.
And that is definitely a scary image, Bat, and great work on that blade!

Inktober Day 25 - Buddy
Mirage and Ermina may go about things differently and have vastly different personalities, but they are still the best of friends.

Thanks, everyone. I don’t show them interacting enough. And it could be a bar. I’ve never really been to them, so I’m not the most knowledgeable on the topic.
Inktober Day 26 - Hide
David: “Whatcha doing, Dad?”
Armon: “David! I’m, uh...you see...”
David: “Is that a skin?”
Armon: “...y-yes?”
David: “What’re you doing with it?”
Armon: “...leather-making...”
David: “Huh, cool.”
Armon: “...”
David: “Okay, I’m going to go play with Marble. Bye!”
Armon: “...did...did I ruin him?”
Admittedly Armon didn’t fully plan out how he’d explain predator behavior to a rabbit. Thankfully for him, David caught on easily. Perhaps it came with being a species that knows it’s always on borrowed time.
They don’t use the leather for clothing, especially as it would definitely freak out settlements, but it does allow them to make straps for equipment.

Interesting depiction - like the leather insert.

I think it is safe to assume now that David now has no qualms about killing considering he is a bounty hunter.
