Then what would you suggest? I wanna see some payback and we know that Mirage isn't gonna eat him.

All I know is I hope Mirage catches Sickle off-guard so we can see what happens!
Re: Art Thread
In a point in the past, I was thinking about things about me that I could apply to Macabre. That's why he's an arachnophobe. But I decided to apply my disgust with black licorice to Mirage. Felt it'd be funny for the black hole to have something other than the obvious to never touch.NHWestoN wrote:… at least not seasoned with that nasty sauce! Eeeeeegh!

That's the entire reason for adding that random soda can.

LOL looks like Sickle got off really easy.
Re: Art Thread
Shoved into an object several times smaller than you, through an even smaller opening, then had that object crushed.

Re: Art Thread
Uh YEAH! Because I'm sure Mirage could have done far worse. No need for the sarcasm either.
Re: Art Thread
I opened up for questions on Discord so I'd have some drawing practice.
I never get many questions.
Also actually used references for this.

Re: Art Thread
I forget, are both of those your characters, or was the horned rabbit someone else’s?

Both are his. I just wanna say that Mirage was quick to get to the point and its not a good idea to get her mad.
Because as Sickle found out, oh she's sweet but a psycho...

Re: Art Thread
Yup, they're both mine, and yup, both take their relationship seriously. Mirage is just much more direct about it.

That April Fools' comic was hilarious, D-Rock. That's one way to make canned laughter. Also, good answer regarding the mortal romance challenge.
Yeah it's late, but I made something for April Fools' Day. Homer tries to prank Arezzo, but Arezzo sees it coming and counters with his physics-defying strength.

...and then with an unnervingly loud GLORP! he discovers it to have been made of jello as it continues downward.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Thanks, man.

Eh, I still like the idea of Arezzo getting entombed in a jello anvil.
That is why you should never think that you got on up on Homer.

Unless it is made of jello, then please do.
Re: Art Thread
I made this for a Midterm Final laat December. I was only suppose to make the Mandala (that thing in the middle if anyone doesn't know what i'm talking about) but i went a little overboard.

Re: Art Thread
Baby Ollie!
Used Olive as a reference for the pose. And it wasn't until posting the initial sketch on Discord that Star noted how convenient it was that I used Olive for a reference for Oliver. As Bob Ross said, "happy accident."
I've previously made an image of a baby Mirage, she didn't have any of the spikes, but did show where they'd grow. Decided to implement that idea into Oliver. Bone brace was always there.
Also greatly simplified his amulet and dropping the flute aspect of it. In an unrelated Discord server, there was someone taking requests for practice, so I sent Oliver. She made his amulet like that, and I liked how it turned out. It was a rather intricate design, so figured make it official.

You know where this is going now right? Story behind the character!
Re: Art Thread
I've mentioned elsewhere that he's the son of Mirage and Macabre. He ends up not being as into music like his father or combat like his mother. He does have a level of control over water, but in mortal realms it's limited by what's at hand.

Just keep him away from aunt Lilith, grandma Gretchen and grandpa Halphas.
Its a miracle Macabre didn’t get screwed up from his family.

Re: Art Thread
From Gretchen, absolutely. From Lilith ABSOLUTELY. From Halphas, probably safe to do the same.Amazee Dayzee wrote:Just keep him away from aunt Lilith, grandma Gretchen and grandpa Halphas.
Oh, yeah, he could have easily turned out worse. Few get as fortunate as he did in his circumstances. Being raised afterwards by Arin definitely helped, though.Amazee Dayzee wrote:Its a miracle Macabre didn’t get screwed up from his family.

Only safe relatives are probably foster grandpa Arin as well as whoever Mirage has.
I wonder what would happen if aunt Lilith decided to use her nephew to hurt his daddy?

Re: Art Thread
In my head, I've thought up a scenario where she attempts that. Almost succeeds. Followed by failing miserably. Doubt I'll end up drawing it any time soon, if at all, and I still don't trust any attempt at writing.

Re: Art Thread
Failing miserably and not just failing? From the way she seemed to take glee out of crushing her brother's windpipe, I didn't think she would lose BADLY.
Re: Art Thread
Well, to start, she meets Macabre alone. This would be the first time he's even aware that he has a sister, so he wants to at least try to get to know her. What follows is that image of them I made. Lilith took full advantage of his hesitancy, and once he's been taken out, she heads towards Mirage. I've mentioned that she just loves to torment others, right?
Mirage is actually able to put up a good fight, but Lilith just manages to get the upper hand, but she tries to kidnap Oliver instead of continuing the fight.
Then Macabre makes it back, all semblance of mercy gone. An advantage of immortality is no one being able to "finish the job."
And she ends up on the receiving end of a major beating from the both of them at their most enraged, so she ends up having to retreat with nothing gained.

That's really pretty Vanice. Very spiritual with a Yin and Yang theme about it.
Baby Ollie is adorable. Mirage and Macabre must be proud.

I was thinking that or the anvil suddenly explodes. But hey, why not? Even if they knew he was their son (long story that probably should never see the light of day), it's not like they would ever let him best them.Buster wrote:...and then with an unnervingly loud GLORP! he discovers it to have been made of jello as it continues downward.
