:B
But yeah, being able to distinguish characters based on their silhouettes is a great test of character design.
I finally got a decent drawing out this weekend (certainly turned out better than the first thing I tried).

Re: Art Thread
I just finished coloring something for The Mr-Noms
(that he drew it)
I know him in real life, so he let me do this so I could practice coloring.
I'm still not talented in the art of shading jackets, but I feel as if I did a pretty decent job on the head.
I also didn't know how to make the face not look flat.
How do I put perspective on something like that?
...and also, how did I do?

That looks pretty nice. Actually, I recognized them all as soon as I seen them. They are very well defined: Bansi, Buck, Vad and Zats. Very awesome indeed. Looking at the pic makes me just want to shout 'GROUP HUG!<3' and glomp them. ^_^Vadiant wrote:A consolidation of a few silhouette drawings I made using my own character, as well as a few volunteered by friends. ... Yeah, That was a bit of a flaw in the drawing. I thought that looked a bit odd too. If I retrace/color/etc it i'll fix that. (don't want to bother the artist on that)FlintTheSquirrel wrote:My biggest complaint is that the bags under his eyes makes him look rather evil, sorry to say. ^^;

Re: Art Thread
I've redone the drawing above digitally, For fun. I haven't done anything like this in about a year. So hence all the things wrong. also low resolution because i didnt bother to prepare a larger canvas/use vectors instead. But I like it. ^^ It was surprisingly fun.
(removed the teddy bear because it was unfitting to my character/fursona)

You should invest in a larger blanket.
Hey guys guess what two species totally coexist and aren't separated by millions of years at all
Also that's totally what an archaeopteryx looks like yup definitely
I agree that the eye bags do look a bit odd. Not evil necessarily, but they look like eyelids at first glance, and that kinda changes the expression.FlintTheSquirrel wrote:My biggest complaint is that the bags under his eyes makes him look rather evil, sorry to say. ^^;

Ooooo A raccoon. I have no idea what a Rolare Blade is though, but if it is anything cloak and dagger like, it would be fitting. Raccoons are kinda a thief type animal after all. :3
I want to ask however, what is that hanging from his ear?

Re: Art Thread
I redid the drawing somebody on deviantart made for me, By re-sketching and drawing it. Using it for reference. I've done all of this by hand, this time using rasters. It's quite fun. I'm also experimenting with a new way of colouring. No shading though. Not yet. Perhaps later.
Anyways I'm quite happy with the result! Yay. This is my first proper drawing that I've done on my recently repaired TabletPC! Made using GIMP. Excellent software.

Re: Art Thread
I'm just going to copy the description from my DA, life is easier that way.
The six (or seven) year old magical prodigy Reanbell Colt (despite her last name she has no relation to horses). Her magic skill far surpasses anyone in her age group and thus she was sent to the academy at such a young age. She's also rumored to be the daughter of a demon or at least she pretends to be.

Re: Art Thread
Doot doot doot. 4 more drawings of my fursona. I love this artist. x3 haha.
First is my fursona hugging his tail. Second is him giving the "camera man" a high five (the artist took it literally)
the third is him stretching from sleeping and the last is him being confused at something. o 3o
artist DA page (easier to just link to that rather than separate deviations) http://demoncatz666.deviantart.com/
I'm gonna retrace-redraw all of these. At least effective colouring/lineart practice. x3

Re: Art Thread
The perspectives look great, and I do still like this character, and the idea behind it. Only thing is that he does look a tad bit more feminine than before. Besides that, I have no complaints, like the clothing. ^^

I like to think It's just tasting!
I also like to think it has some sort of under structure and therefore COULDN'T eat itself if it tried.
I also like to think it obeys the laws of logic and would have to turn itself inside out to eat itself and doesn't have the ability to do so

Re: Art Thread
Doot doot. An anthropomorphic-realistic drawing of my fursona!
(Character doesn't wear pants due to being an HP style furry, but they were mandatory in this realistic style.. due to.. it being realistic. hurr. :B)
Once again drawn by demoncatz666, or dc6. If i could say i had a favorite favorite. this would be it. x3
I shall get this traced, colored and shaded digitally. Though shading may not be me. We'll see.

Now that this month's Secret Santa has ended, I want to show some of the sketches I did for the drawing of Psykeout.
If you're wondering why one of them has glasses, It's from a drawing of Psykeout's character by CaptainPea.

I was holding the paper up to my webcam and trying to see if the webcam would see it too. It's not so easy as it seems. I misplaced my camera so I have these very low quality photos for now. I was actually looking at the drawing of Garson on fire when I was considering to use that color scheme. I used Loew-Cornell Markers for the blue, green and gray colors. I did not have a red marker so I used the Create Like Crazy (TM) red colored pencil. The lines are just typical black ball point pen.
