For talking about images, videos, and all that other bandwidth-killing stuff. Put ALL your media-related stuff that is not similarly Housepets-related here: Stories etc.

Time for some cheesy animation~~...i guess

Something I did for my 2D animation class, first time doing it, but it's fun nevertheless |D
Dun think I need to explain the process though,
So..here's the first 2 assignments we did, for now.
Note: Click the pic to be redirected to the video, I dun think I can emb it here

Image
That's the flipbook assignment |D took me two nights...at around...~200 frames, dun mind the music though.

Image
Argh my name.....>.<
That's the 2nd assignment, the initial frame is a design from your classmate, and the last frame is yours(where it is passed onto another classmate, and so on. and during the process, we need to make it last atleast 5 seconds, or 125 frames atleast(all drawn on a special "animation paper" slightly smaller than an A3 size paper, which are then photographed and compiled together), morphing from one form to another form...and yes, portal fans/nerds/geeks dun kill me please xP

But anyway, enjoy~

It's easy, I just colored the eyes, made a different tail and added hair. I did it on my iPod which makes it so easy to shade for some reason, way easier to use than a trackpad.

I wish i could draw.. (some more)

Parents aren't too happy the whole "furry" deal and in turn, i cant draw at home without them giving me weird looks or trying to stop me. And now that school is over i have nowhere else to draw. -_-

Any suggestions?

I say ignore them, if they don't want you drawing, that's their problem. Drawing is a very valuble skill and the fact that you like furries is not weird at all, for proof of that, just check how many people read Housepets! and how many people have joined furaffinity. If your parents don't like it, it's not your problem.

That's what my mom did but luckily she went for the first result: Wikipedia.

Perhaps go for a walk and find somewhere outside to sit and draw. Or try your paw at drawing humans! It's good practice.

Aside from how sorry I feel for you, but I would also like to point out that it's completely normal for parents to care about you and what you're doing, albeit less understanding. I'm pretty sure they mean no harm, and probably worry and want to stop you for the reason of wanting to keep you from negative stuff and what not(even though they got the wrong impression, but that's another issue).

In other word, they just care about you, simple and easy.

And as for the whole "furry" issue, I can understand that, and I would also like to point out that simply ignoring them is a great no-no, same goes to introducing them to FurAffinity (FA), I can imagine it's like adding oil to fire.

If I remember correctly, you said you have hundreds of pages of sketches, if they're mostly, if not all, consists of furries/anthro drawings, then I can probably see why.

I've seen cases where parents are worry about their kids because apparently they "draw furries all the time", no offense intended, if you have a similar case, your parents might be worried if their kids are "obsessed" over something, and they'll most likely assumed it is bad. If it's not, then show them it's simply your "hobby" to draw and it's just the case that you have an affinity towards drawing anthropomorphic animals. Again, no offense intended.
Zander wrote: Any suggestions?
For now, I most certainly wouldn't stop you from drawing, but if you want, show them that you have other hobbies and interests as well, this might help to stop them from worrying about you too much.
Or like what Sleet said, draw other things, show them you aren't just drawing something-they-think-is-bad, but other things as well, and make drawing look like an overall healthy hobby for them and that it's not as bad as it looks.

Also, you can probably give them some time, before you bring up the topic again, show them other furry/anthro art and drawings, and if they brought up the negative side of them, then you can simply shrug it off and calmly explains that explicit/adult stuff exists in almost every media and subjects and that it's normal, and state how you're not part of it, and again, emphasis and probably show them some of your drawings, that the whole "furry scene" for you is just "good, clean fun".

Now, I'm pretty sure what I suggest is probably not the best out there, if you feel like to, there's tons of resources and websites that you can refer to that might help you, I would suggest starting with this.
Just remember this, your parents mean you no harm, and try to face this problem with a calm attitude. Good luck~

Annnnd, to avoid derailing the whole topic....

Well here is anothe one of mine. I call it The Gambler. This is a poor soul I met on my travles who has gambled all of his life. His hat is riddled with bulit holes, there are cuts and tears in his ragged brown suit and a scar on his face. But atleast he is still alive.... Well he was when I last saw him.

So uh...basically after 4 long years I decided that I should draw again, and in the HP! IRC chat Tobee was sorta asking me to draw him as some sorta warrior, with a mace and shield.

So Uh...

Here he is..

And I wish I knew more about drawing medieval weaponry! The mace looks like some lollipop or somethin' lol!
