Well, if i was still guarding a large area, like a warehouse or something. Then i would project a serious, dangerous demeanor to keep people at bay, like you said.
But in a neighborhood setting like this, where we only have are owner to protect. It works against us to project a dangerous image. It makes the other pets nervous, a scares their owners. An we know how humans get really unpredictable when there scared about something.
