“Now who was that saying they couldn't dance?”

Mikey had never seen someone take to belly-dancing as quickly as Rikki did, and he knew then that he definitely had to get the ferret and his sister together. From the way Mitch kept tripping over himself watching Rikki the dalmatian was sure they'd have at least half the neighborhood males banging down their door just begging to learn to dance simply to watch them. Smiling Mikey left Mitch to ogle his girlfriend while he went to assist Bel and Valiant.

“I know it feels weird at first, but don't focus on the steps. Instead imagine you have a ball of energy flowing from the top of your head to your feet. As it passes a point on your body it activates the muscles there, causing them to flex.”

Mikey demonstrated slowly, trailing a claw down his front to signify the energy as he let his body flow into a wave. When he finished he put a paw on the top of each male's stomach, trying to help them focus.

“Now try to flex just your upper abdominals, then bring that energy down your body.”
---------------------------------------
“Oh they knew what they were doing, and I was scared at first, but eventually we found out it was all just a big misunderstanding. It's a really long story sugga, how about I tell you the rest over a glass of steamed milk sometime?”

Tara gave Borues a sly smile at his challenge, her green eyes narrowing as she looked around. Catching sight of the break between the two creeks the feline worked very hard not to show any reaction, instead looking around like she had completely missed it.

“I don't know hun, I guess I must be too much of a pampered house-kitty to make it out here in the wild,” she said with a slight teasing tone.

And Valiant discovered that, without trying to mimic Rikki's movement, instead of trying this dance as just another style, he discovered he could get into it--"ACK!" and found himself rudely interrupted as the big wolf fell onto him and both crashed on the grass.
"Guess I let myself flow too much," Belisarius said apologetically, blushing.

Mitch had by now stopped trying. He was simply content to stare at Rikki open mouthed. Cello and Zhang found it hard to suppress laughter.

Will giggled lightly. "I don't th-think Paige could find it either. I m-mean, he is a city-"

"It's almost right across from us." Paige smirked. "I have to admit, it's a good home for protection, most of it is surrounded by water, so it'd be a lot harder to sneak up on you." The Australian Mist turned to the bear in charge of the tour. "Though, you are a bear. Not much would wanna try to eat you, so it probably has a different purpose."

"Maybe he j-just wants some peace and q-quiet?" Will asked.

"Bingo kitty! The door's out in front," Borues hopped over the stream, and went in front of a small mound in between the two streams. Just in front of it, was indeed a small ramp of earth going down into the ground. With a bear sized wooden door down below.

"And yes, I do like my piece and quiet, and she needs to lie better," Borues said with a grin.

Lance never really was one for dancing, but everyone else was at least giving it a shot so why not. He let the music flow though him trying (and failing) to get into the rhythm. He giggled and laughed at himself a bit as he did a rather silly looking belly dance.

Mikey looked around for a moment, trying to gauge how the other pets were doing. Valiant seemed to be doing fairly well, and even Lance was getting into it. The dalmatian made a mental note that he needed to try and make a better impression with the Doberman; he had been unnecessarily cold to the poor fellow just because he happened to walk in at a bad time. With that in mind Mikey made a step towards Lance before catching Bel falling into Valiant out of the corner of his eye.

“Hey, are you guys alright?”
------------------------------------
“Aww, don’t go ruining a girl’s fun now.”

Tara stuck her tongue out at Borues, but her body posture was still playful. As if to emphasize the point the feline stood tall, arching her back slightly as she placed a paw to her chest in mock disbelief.

“Besides a lady does not lie. The truth simply alters itself to fit our personal preferences.”

Tara tried to keep a straight face as she spoke, but her composure was quickly deteriorating into giggles.

"That's what they all say, anyways, time to get snacks," Borues said.

Borues rolled his eyes at the female and headed through the door. Which opened to a small hall, Borues turned left, to go down another flight of stairs to another door. This went on three more times, until the final door led to a cozy space that looked like a living room. A fire pit was in the center in the back with two owl statues on top the mantel. Borues sniffed around and, getting nothing, went in. There was a cupboard area in the right hand corner of the place.

"I hope you like honey," Borues said to his guests, "I like to dry the fish with a little honey on them. Heh."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mitch could still only watch Rikki. He tried once or twice again trying to mimic her movements, but she was the only thing he could concentrate on at the moment it seemed. As he almost fell once again.

Valiant stood up and dusted himself. "We're doing fine, thank you. This oaf has a tendency to...misstep. I think he does better with dancing styles that require holding to his partner. Right luv?" He grinned mischievously at the timber wolf.
Belisarius shuffled his feet, ears low. "Yes..."

Rikki, too, couldn't help chuckling at Mitch's attempts. She took his paw. "Nevermind that, my Prince: I'm sure you can do much better in your own style. I'll learn that, for you. Ok?"

The Indian music began to fade away, and Mikey pressed the pause button on his collar before the next track began to play. Standing up the dalmatian began to applaud the group, his tail wagging rapidly.

“You all were awesome. And Rikki, you definitely need to meet my sis, she could definitely help you refine your already overwhelming natural talent. And besides…,” Mikey gave a mischievous look at Mitch, “I’m sure your royal boyfriend would love to forget where a few hours went watching you.”

Mikey gave a surprisingly feline smile after he spoke, his paws clasped behind his back as his tail beat the air. Wishing he had thought to bring his phone Mikey wondered what Tara was doing, hoping she’d be able to help him set up a block party soon. After all it did seem like these animals enjoyed dancing at least, and nothing said we’re in the neighborhood like a good old fashioned gala.

At the sound of the magic word, Belisarius started drooling as if he had just spotted a juicy deer!
Valiant gulped. "You better feed him now, before he decided you're a morsel, Mitch... Oh, and Mickey? Thank you very much for this first lesson. Consider ourselves signed up for your school. And you'll get snuggles whenever you want...packmate."" He winked at the dalmatian

Mitch pointed.

"Blanket, meat pile, try to leave some for others okay?" Mitch said. Then he walked over to Mikey.

"Oh, I really don't like all that title stuff, so you don't have to call me anything if you don't want to," Mitch said, "Besides, we don't put much emphasis on-*"

"Ready to return to duty sire," Gonzli said, coming from nowhere, it seemed. Mitch facepalmed.

"What did I say?" Mitch said to him.

"Sire, you may have said, but your father says otherwise," he responded. Mitch rolled his eyes.

"Sigh, Cello, Zhang, you are to return to your 'post'," Mitch said, "Well, I don't put much emphasis on it. Still though Mikey, a fair trade is a fair trade. Want to learn that dance I was gonna show you after lunch?" The two pandas stepped behind Rikki once again.

At the mention of lunch Mikey began to drool as well, but he still made no move towards the food. In fact the dalmatian even took an involuntary step backwards as Mitch approached, clasping his sides and looking down at the ground.

“I… I’m sorry. I know you’re just being nice, I just get nervous around others of high breeding.”

The dalmatian finally looked up, giving Mitch a weak smile, although his eyes continued to drift over to the meat. Giving a sigh Mikey scratched the back of his neck, his tail giving the slightest of wags.

“Yes, I think that would be awesome. I would love to learn one of your tribe’s dances.”

Mitch had to chuckle at that.

"Please don't be, my father is only chieftain because the people elected him chieftain," Mitch said, "And he's only the second generation chieftain of our family. So I hardly think we're of high breeding. Now please, have some lunch."

Still on the bear's back, Will let the scent of food wash over him. "It c-certainly smells good!" he declared.

Paige nodded in agreement, and smirked as he turned to Tara. "What do you think?" he questioned. "Keeping in mind that what you say may become truth, of course"

Borues went over to the cupboard.

"Down you go little bud, now then," he said, gently setting Will down for a moment, "What's your fancy? Heavy on the smoke, salt, honey? Or salted and honeyed?" He rummaged through paper bags that had their tops closed down and stacked on one another. They were marked but you could tell what they were by smell as well. There were also bags of nuts above. Although the honey itself wasn't readily visible.

Lance smiled and walked over to the meat as well. He had already eaten and was full, he just wanted to mingle with his friends at this point. He looked over at the Dalmatian and smiled. "Hey, names Lance, so when did you move here?" Lance asked Mikey.

Mikey nodded as Mitch spoke, stepping towards the blanket and sitting down near a corner. Instead of reaching for the meat however the dalmatian looked towards Belisarius, giving him a questioning gaze.

“If I remember correctly, the alpha of a pack always gets first dibs, no?”

Mikey stuck his tongue out at the wolf before turning to look at Lance, his tail thumping the ground behind him.

“We actually just got here today; my dads are probably putting the final touches on our place right now. Also, sorry for earlier, I’m just well… weird. ”
------------------------------------
“Sugga, I only speak the truth,” Tara said, batting Paige’s nose playfully as she giggled. Looking back at Borues the feline gave a warm smile, sniffing the air around her.

“Although I do agree with the boys hun, it does smell delicious. Which is your favorite?”

Belisarius was already stuffing his mouth in the most indecorous way. At Mikey's question, the wolf just turned his head and gave him a puzzled look while munching. "Grmf?"
Valiant facepawlmed. "Ladies and gentleman, my mate."

"Ah give him a break," Mitch said, grabbing a sausage like item from the pile. He was suddenly hungry again. Then he stepped back and with his free hand, rubbed Rikki's back again.

Mikey gave a soft chuckle as he looked at the wolf stuffing his muzzle, reaching forward and taking a piece of meat for himself. In stark contrast to Bel the dalmatian ate in a very refined manner, not a morsel dropping from his lips as he chewed slowly. Turning to look back at Lance Mikey swallowed before speaking.

“So, how long have you lived here?”

Lance giggled and smiled reassuringly at Mikey. "Its ok, weird around here is good." He ate a few more small pieces of meat "As for how long I've been here, its been basically my whole life. Was found on the street by my mom and she took me home." He said.

As Will got down from the bears back, he shrugged. "It d-doesn't matter to me, I-i'll eat it however."

"Smoked, if you would." Paige answered, to both Boreus and Tara. "It brings back memories of my mom... though, yours will probably taste better." Since she couldn't exactly use fresh fish, he added in his head.

Mikey cocked his head curiously, his mind whirring as he wondered what it might be like to grow up on the streets. It would probably be very hard, but Mikey knew instantly that this dog was someone he could be friends with. After all, why would a dog from the streets ever be interested in dog shows?

“So, do you like to dance?”
------------------------------------
“I think I’d like to try the honeyed version myself darlin’; can’t say I’ve ever had it before.”

Tara looked at Will, and a part of her wanted to hug the little guy and tell him the world was more than a scary place, but something told her it would be best to wait for now. Instead the feline simply threw a motherly smile at the male before turning to look at Paige.

“Do you remember her well sugga? Your mother that is?”

Borues tossed them their requested bags of fish. For Will, he handed him a smoked and honeyed bag.

"You should like that kind," Boures said, then he turned around, took a swig from a bottle from the cupboard.

"Still though, I must disagree with you. No food is better then the food the woman that bore you fed you with," Borues said with a sigh.

Valiant chuckled. "There she goes! When she's in 'family mode', Mitch, you better watch out. Do you think any of your folks will let you guys adopt a kit or two?"
"Speaking of which," Belisarius said, "We need to plan *our* family. Would you rather go to a shelter for adoption, or look out for a wolf cub? Granted, a pack may give us only the runt of the litter, and we must wait until springtime comes, but humans' medical science can save even those who'd die in the wild." And he proceeded to eat another big piece of meat.
The Italian wolfdog blushed madly. "Don't you think you're rushing it a bit, love?"
The timber wolf licked his fingers clean. "No. The pack is all about leaving your blood behind, even if it's adopted blood. It's important to raise cubs while we're in our prime, so to give them the best cure and education." he wagged at his mate.
