Liz asked as she flew between two of the larger androids fighting the abominations.
"The bunker is more likely to be secure than the basements. I would recommend entering the office complex to the north. I am reading several survivors locked in the subterranean levels." the Predator stated as he went to help the Hive droids herd the creatures. "I will stay here and assist Hivemind. Get going."

Hivemind was already developing theories about this town. He had a number of questions that weren't answered satisfactorily, including why such a small town had a bomb shelter all to itself, and why communications in the area were artificially jammed. "What is it?" he asked, keeping his theories to himself for now.

"Cailean, this isn't the Steelhaven." Hivemind said with a shake of his head. "You've seen the capitol district. It has it's own sky and weather patterns. That district alone is three quarters of a mile tall before you hit the ceiling. We do sometimes have fireworks shows, and fireworks are allowed. If you wanted to sell them, or make smaller celebratory pyrotechnic devices, it would be allowed."

Hivemind turned to Conall. "With your power, I can think of many ways you could bring hope to people, without necessarily fighting. If you want to help people, the least I can do is give you a little training." he signed.

SeanWolf wrote: Wed Oct 07, 2020 7:37 am Hawk, however, didn't respond to Hivemind, let alone acknowledge it completely. He knew, deep down, he was right in what he told him. "Tell Titan to return to the arena and I will not take No for an answer," He said once Hivemind was done as he stepped into the nearby lift, "If you want a better demonstration of what I can do, minus my so-called 'overconfidence'? Let Titan be at max power: No limiters, no armor, nothing. Just me and Titan." With that, the doors closed and lift headed back to where Hawk's day basically began; The armory. As the lift traveled, his OtherSide quietly sighed; "Hawk," it thought to itself, "I know what you're doing and what you have planned. However, Hivemind is also correct; your overconfidence is one of your weaknesses. If you are planning to show Hivemind what we can do...then I fear for what tomorrow will hold for us once you make the first step."
Hivemind let out a sound approximating a sigh, but he did tell Titan what Hawk said. It wasn't long before Titan was in the training room, though they were still in full armor with full limiters turned to the maximum setting. Hivemind wasn't reckless. He wasn't going to endanger the ship over Hawk's ego.

She quickly raised her drink again before taking a considerable sip.

For a moment she had no reaction, positive or negative to the drink, until she swiftly placed the drink down and began to shake, somewhat violently, before quickly stilling. She looked at her drink, her eye lights glowing lightly red. "Oh, now that's nice." She took another drink, only this time not followed by any shaking.
Recon was a little taken aback by the change in eye color. Feeling it might not bode well, she felt she had to ask. "Uh... Tat? You feeling ok? Fire-engine red isn't your normal eye color..."

"Well, I was practicing my close quarters fighting styles just now. Boxing, Judo, Jujitsu, Taekwondo, Tai Chi, that sort of thing." Tatiana tilted her head in confusion, before chortling lightly. "Ah, I forget my helmet can do that sometimes. Don't really have a normal eye color. I think? But, yeah, I feel fine. Just really appreciative like to finally find one of these kinda drinks that doesn't tear at me. Only real odd thing is red is usually reserved for moments of unfathomable rage. "Huh, I-I don't wanna talk about it right now?" Tatiana sounded unsure, confused, and for some reason, almost nonchalant in a way.

"Drink's nice." She said, as if whatever came before was perfectly normal.

Jenevive looked over as a strangely coral looking youth almost crashed into Jaken. "Oh," she breezed, "Golten's nine, going on ten and Corvis," she added as her youngest sideswiped a Human, "is usually seven going on twenty-five." She smirked. "So, how old was Eira when you knew she was going to go into the 'family business'?"

"I think that's for later, Gear," Hannabelle said, giving his cheek a little lick. "When we're behind closed doors and not likely to end up on the front page of a news website."

"Uuuh, th... thanks," Cherry said, giving one final sneeze.

It wasn't long before Titan was in the training room, though they were still in full armor with full limiters turned to the maximum setting. Hivemind wasn't reckless. He wasn't going to endanger the ship over Hawk's ego.
"Hawk, we need to talk," The OtherSide said to Hawk as the doors to the armory opened, yet Hawk wasn't listening. He was still upset from earlier and was dead-set on proving to Hivemind he didn't need any more training and what he said about Titan was true, which was all that mattered. Stepping foot into the armory and eyeing the weapons presented and growling, Hawk reached into his jacket and pulled out the revolvers he brought on board, the ones that Hivemind "forced" safety measures onto. With various curses seeping out of his mouth, Hawk started to reach for the safety device to tear it off; He wasn't going to hold back with his strikes this time, he thought. But just as his paw was close enough to touch the device, his whole body seemingly locked up, save for his head. Try as he might, his body just didn't want to move an inch.
"Like I said, Hawk, we need to talk," realizing it was his OtherSide doing it (and not Hivemind), Hawk became angry once more, "Give me back control of my body, I know what I'm doing," he growled but his OtherSide wasn't going to do so, "Which is exactly why I'm taking over at this time, you don't know what you're doing," it began, "Yes, you are right with some of the things you said to Hivemind; Your talents as a bounty hunter can be very helpful to the Champions, whether they know it or not. Yes, you shouldn't forget your past expertise, either. But Hivemind is also right in a few areas as well. Your biggest problem, Hawk, isn't your cocky attitude, which I will agree you don't have, or that you prefer to trust your instincts rather then what you've been told. Ever since the incident with The White Circle all those years ago, you swore off working with anyone and prefer doing things alone, hence why you completely ignored your partner today in training. Your problem, Hawk, is that, ever since that day, you have trust issues and you need to get over that. Yes, what happened with the White Circle and you was bad, but that doesn't mean you should stop trust everyone..."
"Shut UP!" Hawk roared, regaining control of his left arm just enough to throw a punch towards his face, one that his OtherSide stopped just as it touched the tip of his fur. "So, what if that was the reason?" Hawk panted, "That still doesn't excuse Hivemind for putting me up against someone like Titan! And for what?! To teach me to 'never underestimate my enemy'?! If you ask me, Titan and Hivemind shouldn't underestimate US!"
"And you know something? You are correct," his OtherSide calmly responded, surprising Hawk, "Yes, Hivemind is right in that you shouldn't underestimate anyone, but you failed in showing that yourself. You showcasing your immortal powers to him? Going in guns-blazing? Him assuming that you are a violent person just from your records? You just showed him that you are, indeed, cocky, which you aren't; You are smarter then you look, Hawk, I know that for a fact. I seen you come up with creative solutions to every problem, most of which didn't involve anybody dying at all. From simply listening to the bounty to using the environment to your advantage to more, you proved time and time again that if there's anyone the universe shouldn't underestimate, it's you." As his OtherSide spoke, Hawk oddly felt his body cooling off and his anger reducing in severalty. Everything his OtherSide was saying was true, he started to realize, which became even more evident as his OtherSide continued, it's tone now of a sadder tone mixed with a bit of anger, "When you stepped into the arena with Titan, I was expecting you to utilize your brain...instead, what did you do? Because you were angry at Hivemind for various reasons, don't lie I know you were, you decided to forgo your actual smarts and go in guns blazing. I only helped as I was thinking you had a bigger plan...but nope! All you wanted to do was show off! You didn't even pay attention to what Titan was, let alone to anything that Hivemind said! Your thing about Dracorlok? You only did that to hide the fact that you messed up! You KNOW Dracorlok's dead! You yourself made sure of it!" It was then when Hawk, for as tough as a bounty hunter he was, had enough and, gaining control once more, fell to the floor and wept, shouting, "OK! OK! YES! I'm smarter then that! I hate people accusing me of things without actually researching the truth!" As he wept, a claw came up and wiped away a tear from his face, "I know. But it's not me you need to prove that to." Hawk, wiping away the rest of his tears with his own hands, nodded and stood up, placing his revolver back into his holster. Hawk now knew that, if he wanted to prove to Hivemind that he is fit for the Champions and, indeed, doesn't require any more training and wanted to better prove that they shouldn't underestimate him, then he needed to think of something. Which didn't take long as a small smile crossed his face when an idea came to him, and it began with the grabbing of a small, one shot, .22 pistol.
"Hawk, didn't you even listen?" His OtherSide said, a bit upset that Hawk was grabbing a gun. But Hawk only smiled and told his OtherSide to "Trust me," as he headed to the arena.

As the doors opened to the arena, Hawk stepped out, holding the small pistol, and positioned himself in just the right spot so he was looking directly at Titan. Eyeing his opponent up and down, he closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths. "Please don't disappoint me," his OtherSide told him as he took in one more breath before opening his eyes and, much to his OtherSide's dismay, raising the gun and pointing at Titan, walking towards them slowly. However, what happened next surprised not only his OtherSide, but possibly Titan and Hivemind as well. Just as Hawk was now at arms length away from Titan, he lowered his arm and dropped the gun to the floor, clinking as it connected. His OtherSide was about to comment until it realized what Hawk was doing so it kept quiet, though whispering to him "I'm proud of you." Indeed, Hawk, removing his hat and placing it on his chest, looked Titan in the eyes (or, at the very least, where they should be on their helmet) and began saying something a monk told him heard years ago on one of his travels to the monastery on Veraxis: "Within every one of us, there are two beings: One that represents our true selves and the Beast, a creature that feeds on our negativity and seeks to fill our soul with darkness. Within you, the Beast lays dying, sadden that you have overcome it and have given your power to the truth. But within me? The Beast is happy, joyous that I gave into it and have let it controlled our actions. Even when we let the other one feed, the Beast always takes the most away, filling my soul with darkness and clouding my judgment. I thought I...I could control the Beast, starve it and deprive it of our, being myself and my OtherSide, old ways. But it seemed that the Beast's actions will be forever what we are to be known for..." he then stopped for a bit as, truth be told, he couldn't recall the rest of what the monk said. Instead, placing his hat back on his head, he lowered his head, folding his arms, and began to meditate in front of Titan, his OtherSide smiling within, happy that Hawk finally showed his real side.

"Eeeehhh." Kolt grunted, holding his hand out flat and tilting it back and forth in what he hoped was a universal gesture of "sorta." "You're not entirely wrong. My suit makes me absolutely excel at a distance, but by myself I'm more of a mixed ranged fighter. I can be as short ranged or as long ranged as I want, as long as I can still see my opponent. Though admittedly, I'm not as good at short range as I am as long, since long range gives me a split second more time to put up a force field and block an attack. Though that might not be that big of a problem if Mythos ever gets around to finishing that combat prediction algori-Anyways!" He said, cutting himself off when he realized he was starting to ramble. "What kinda of sparring did you have in mind then?"

"Well in that case.." Ceding control of Jenny's body back to her. I think that you should do some experimentation. Better to figure this out now rather than in the middle of a battle.

Following Predator's directions, Liz landed the dropship next to the office building, grabbing some sort of blaster from her hammerspace pocket as she exited the ship. Closing the entrance to the hold once Corp and Lewis had exited it (in case the creatures tried pulling a move from Aliens), she moved into the abandoned building, the others following behind her. Once inside, she immediately starting looking for a way to the lower levels the survivors were supposed to be hiding in.
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

You ever realize that the two longest pieces of literature in existence are both fanfics? Weird right?

The inside of the office building showed signs of having been abandoned very quickly. The lights were still on, and a number of items lay abandoned on the floor such as suitcases, phones, magazines, basically anything anyone may have been holding. Several benches were overturned in whatever rush to get out of there occurred. From the looks of things, the people in the lobby had retreated inward into the halls.

In the halls, the trail left by the fleeing crowd split into two directions. The smaller group had apparently gone for the elevators, one of which had a flashing emergency light indicating it was stuck somewhere in the shaft. The larger group went towards the door labeled "Stairs."

"Well, mostly I was thinking we'd just step into the ring and fight using our usual tactics, minus things like my venom bite and any lethal weapons, like what I was doing with my last partner. Best way to train for a tournament fight is to have a tournament fight, right?" Eira said before jumping back into the half-ruined ring. She wagged her tail, assumed a fighting stance, then said "Alright, give me your best shot!"
"It's not my job to seek the truth.

Hivemind spoke up through the intercom in the room. "Congratulations, Hawk. You've passed this training session. Please meet me in the armory."
He lifted his head up towards the observation window, his meditation now finished, and nodded, looking back at Titan and offering a salute before leaving the arena for the armory. "You did well, Hawk," his OtherSide remarked, happy that Hawk showed his true side. Hawk simply nodded in silence again as he entered the armory where Hivemind was. Hawk was unusually silent all of a sudden, confusing his OtherSide and making it wonder if Hawk wasn't actually done yet or if Hawk is still thinking about the talk he was giving...or if he was still upset at Hivemind, a fact that worried his OtherSide.

"We need to take the stairs," Corp advised, "The ones in the lift appear to be secure." Corp began to head towards where he figured the stairs would be. He checked his emotional 'power' was working. The fear of those in the lift played around the edges of his mind and lessened the further he was away from them. His main cause of emotion, of course, wasn't far from him and he tried to focus on that to power up these stupid blade things he now had. It seemed to work.

"Gotcha," Corvis cried, almost standing in the cab as he rammed his brother into the side of the ring, seconds before the ride slowed to a stop.
"Let Jaken choose the next ride," Jenevive insisted. She noted Golten silently trying to nod him towards the Pirate ships.
"Uh... The Log flume," Jaken said hesitantly.

Tatiana swirled her drink slightly, almost as if she hadn't heard Recon until she spoke. "I'm not sure that would work for me. Last time I talked to Hive about something like this, was yesterday? Yeah, yesterday. He wanted to figure out why Digilitis possessed my shell. He kinda insinuated I was predisposed to Cupiditas. Diligitis helped me after that, frisbee an' all. None too sure I want to talk to him neither to be honest."

Her shoulders seemed to slump, and a moment passed before she spoke again, a subtle shift behind the glow of her eyelights as she did. "Is it selfish to just want to figure yourself out? I just feel out of place going to a near cyber deity or a literal embodiment of emotion for me problems." She took a light sip of the drink and continued, "A piece of me feels like going to Kolt or so about such things would be more palatable. Mayhaps influenced by Kaz always insisting treating team missions to HQ. But, the others have more important things to worry about. Besides, I haven't had a rage in years. Last one... Hmm, I mentioned an unstable reactor didn't I? Think I raged on that mission. 'Wrecked research vessel.' Sure Lazarus."

She turned to Recon, eyelights a light green. "Your worry is appreciated, Recon, but not necessary. With how much I restrain my power, what with team mates and collateral about, I doubt I'd work up the strength to even go into a rage anyhow." She tilted her vision back towards her drink, giving it another swirl. "Alone, on the Rim, fighting one of the Nephilim with a malfunctioning laser pistol. Vastly different times that."

Kolt let out a little smile, then hopped into the ring. Turning off his armor, he settled into a fighting position, then covered his both of his arms with some sort of boxing glove/gauntlet/arm shield construct. After that, he just stood there, his tail slowly swishing behind him as he waited for Eira to make the first move.

While this is not an area I am particularly knowledgeable in, I can speak to what capes with similar powers have said worked for them. Quint said. Before I get into that however, I would like you to describe, in your own words, how you activate your powers, and how it feels when you use them. It is important to start actively thinking about both of those things in order to try and unlock any other potential aspects of your power.

Liz gave a silent nod before she started walking towards the stairs, the others close behind her. They walked down the staircase, making a note of any holes they came across, before they reached the bottom. Once there, they immediately started looking for any possible entrances to the bunker.

The basement level appeared to be similarly abandoned, though there were signs of at least one person having received a serious injury. A trail of red drops on the floor turned into a thin smear leading into one of the side rooms. The door is locked tight.

"So then..." Hivemind said, thinking out loud. "The bunker was not known by, or likely accessible to, the general public, only to Monta Weapontech employees and officials. The creatures attacking Hoga are a Monta Weapontech bioweapon my Champions and I discovered were in late development stages. Documents I recovered indicated the bioweapon was beginning 'testing' stages of development. Combined with the fact that the town of Hoga had it's communications artificially jammed, I'm thinking this wasn't a case of a couple of escapees. And I'm guessing the people in that bunker aren't Hoga Citizens."

Hawk, however, didn't respond but stayed silent, his face showing there was something going on still with him, something that even his OtherSide took note of as it was becoming worried what Hawk was going to do now that Hivemind was within his grasp once more. If Hawk lashed out at Hivemind again, then all that previous talking to, along with his actions in the arena, were for naught and he would be back where he began. Yet, thankfully, there was going to be no lashing out from Hawk as, much to the surprise of those present, he simply replied, "If my training is complete, I'd like to have my first mission, sir," No mention of what he learned, no mention of his tactics during said spar, nothing. Just a simple straight and to the point question. But even this was enough to have his OtherSide worry that Hawk was going back on what he said and was going to prove that what Hivemind said earlier about him was the real truth and everything that his OtherSide said was pointless. Just the fact that Hawk referred to Hivemind as 'sir' confused it as Hawk never called anyone by a title before. It tried to take over to answer Hivemind's question but, much to it's surprise, Hawk wasn't letting it take over, something that very rarely happens between the two. Whenever it does happen, Hawk always had a good reason for doing so and, as such, his OtherSide wondered if that was the case here as well; That he had a reason for not letting him take over and for him ignoring Hivemind's question. "Still," it thought to itself, "I haven't seen Hawk like act like this in a long time. Wonder what's wrong..."

"Well I'm not really totally sure, Quint," Jenny said honestly. "For years I didn't really have that much 'control' over the power but the IOC worked out that the frequency that goes IN affects what comes OUT, y'know? Two palms being brought together is 'maximum blast. Slapping fingers to a palm brings it more sound, less 'flash', so to speak. Fingertip to fingertip is exactly the opposite but a much shorter rang." She did an example of each to prove the point. "Same for crossed hands clapping. All different but they're a lot harder to aim." She sighed. "As for how it feels? I can feel the tiny shockwave of each impact running up my arm in a second. Then it's done. Unless I try the cone, of course. Where I try to hold the vibration going for as long as possible. There I hold the vibrations in. I don't let them pass or fade, y'know?"

Corp made sure they'd all seen the blood trail before he followed it. He came to the locked door and indicated the others to stay back. He stepped to one side of the door, reached around and knocked. "Anyone in there?" If no response came within a few seconds, he planned to ask Lewis to shoot the lock out. He never liked doing that as it sometimes didn't work but he didn't think that gun DID 'ricochet'.

As the others stood back, Jenevive put her hand on the Lycan's shoulder. "Sorry for bringing it up," she said. "Now, what ride for YOUR choice, hmm? After Jakens' of course.". Jaken suggested the log flume.

Kolt moved his arm shields to block Eira's attack, shifting them to grab her arm, and pulling her in closer. Letting out a wicked smirk, he rammed a knee up towards her ribs, at the same time he moved to slam his forehead into her nose, figuring that the hardest part of his skull might do a bit of damage to what was likely the softest of hers.

Quint definitely didn't like the answer Jenny gave. Well, that is completely different from how Blasters on Concertia describe their powers. Pretty much all of them describe it as feeling like some sort of internal energy source they have, and ALL of have have to consciously activate it in order to use it. I have never heard of a power that's always activated whenever a certain motion or gesture is performed. I am afraid I will not be as much help with this as I thought. He said, sounding somewhat disappointed.

"Watch and learn!" Recon grinned, downed her drink, then stood up on the bar stool. "HOY! ANY OF YOU DRUNKEN DOOFISES MANAGE TO BEAT ME OR MY FRIEND HERE, YOU'LL GET DRINKS ON ME 'TILL THE BARMAN KICKS US OUT!" She called to the brawling crowd.

It seemed to get their attention. The fighters, including all manner of species big and small, stopped grappling and beating each other up and turned towards Recon and Tatiana. They cheered at her announcement, and about half a dozen people ran up and pulled the laughing recon down and into the thick of the group. "Just go along with it, Tat!" Recon called before being buried in the crowd. The sounds of some very fast paced fighting followed, and one or two brawlers staggered out of the fray with some newly acquired bruises.

Another five or so fighters ran up to Tatiana and offered to "escort" her into the fight.

Letting out a wicked smirk, he rammed a knee up towards her ribs, at the same time he moved to slam his forehead into her nose, figuring that the hardest part of his skull might do a bit of damage to what was likely the softest of hers.
Eira moved her ice arm to intercept the knee, resulting in Kolt's kneecap slamming against the solid block of near-indestructible ice that her arm was made of, effectively making it feel like he had just rammed his leg against a cold rock. However, with her other arm caught in Kolt's shield, she wasn't able to move in time to block the headbutt. She staggered, grunting in pain and nose bleeding. When she looked back at Kolt, however, she was grinning. "Nice hit." She lifted her ice arm up, grabbed Kolt's arm-shields, and started to pry open his grip, freeing her arm.

(Eira's aquakinesis is a high 7 to low 8, more powerful than Kolt's shields. Her ice-arm's strength is directly related to her aquakinetic power)

Tatiana shrugged good naturedly, her eyelights sharing the good natured feeling, as she let herself be dragged into the brawl by the escort. She decided to just have some fun with it, as she casually dodged the first happy brawl punch. Following Recon's fast paced example, Tatiana returned the punch with one of her own, followed by many more as the brawl picked up for her. Due to both her metal shell, and the casual, if brawl filled atmosphere, she didn't take it too seriously. Although a part of her pondered what would constitute 'losing' for her, but figured she would either find that threshold or wouldn't, as she whacked another would be attacker.

She mentally shrugged, she wasn't paying the losing fee anyway.

Kolt just smiled and dissipated the shield holding Eira's arm, resulting in all that force she was putting into pulling said arm out into backwards momentum. As she fell backwards, Kolt swept his leg towards hers, trying to guarantee she wound up on her back.

This was a trick Eira was familiar with, having used it a fair few times herself. That was why she wasn't actually trying to pull out of his grip, instead trying to pry open his hand. Corp thought on the situation and came to a decision. "Come on, Captain, you people, we need to go. Fast as possible." He pointed back the way they'd come. "Are those the only stairs?" Before she answered, he headed in to assess the possibility of carrying the injured local and, indeed, assess the room itself.

"Well, I have to test myself," Jaken mock protested, having decided he wasn't going to do it. He put a thumb to his nose at another furred youth starting at his whitefurred hands and stuck his tongue out playfully before turning back to face the front of the queue.
"It's sometimes good that cubs will be cubs," Jenevive remarked, almost meaning it as her two 'squabbled' in line.
---------------
"And I'd be a churl to refuse you," Hannabelle admitted, having checked her brain for any inoffensive ways to say 'no' and finding none. "but I wouldn't want you to think I was only after your cash." She handed over half of her thrillers.
--------------
"What do you think, Col," Cherry asked, "Might be fun. And, if I see anything you should know, I can always..." she grinned and held up a comm, "...contact you?" She thought for a second... "You hear my voice in your head... Conall, do you want me to give it a try?"

Tatiana tossed herself to the side, basically ramming her way out of the way of the charging alien, giving him a heavy telekinetic shove away from her, perhaps stronger than she intended. Hopefully into a wall, she thought, as she back handed a brawler behind her that had knocked her across the back of her helmet, accomplishing little against the merc. She also pondered on what level of kinetic power she should use in the situation she was in. A part of her delighted at the thought of just sending a spherical blast all around her, though doubtless many would get back up regardless, but she held back, instead giving a hardy kinetic kick to a gangling fellow, sending him flailing towards Recon, through her path of heads, by accident.

"What do you mean? You're like a textbook example of a fox here in the same way that I'm a textbook example of a dog," Denver said. Probably a fennec if I remember gith. Small desert foxes. Big ears, small bodies. Very cute."

"Nothing immediately, for me at least," Chris said. He looked over at MT, "You need anything?"

Thanks to his years of experience, Kolt was able to turn the fall caused by Eira's kick to the back of his head into something of a roll, though not before smashing his nose against the floor of the ring. Standing up slowly, he turned around to face the Lycanthrope, giving her a thoroughly satisfied smile as he wiped the blood off his nose. "Oh, you're good." He said, before rushing forward, a purple glow enveloping his body as he wound his fist up for a punch.
--
Ready whenever you are, Jenny. Quint said, paying close attention to the various feelings and sensations he was getting from Jenny's body.
--
While Corp grilled one of the civilians about the layout of the building, Liz had another idea, radioing the Beacon. "Hivemind, do these suits have the necessary equipment to climb the walls of an elevator shaft?" She didn't want to leave the people trapped in the elevator behind, but if they did this right, they could get to them, AND make sure the creatures never encounter them at the same time.

She didn't want to leave the people trapped in the elevator behind, but if they did this right, they could get to them, AND make sure the creatures never encounter them at the same time.
"Your suit has some mobility enhancers. For example, you've got a Jump pack that can either slow your descent or boost your jump. You should be able to activate it on your helmet's HUD." Hivemind said. "Please be aware the loose creature is nearby your dropship. Sal-Hleel is working to slow it down."

Predator thought about what Keeva said, then realized he might be able to help the Hive droids more. He opened his "mouth" and absorbed one of the shield droids that were using their shields to contain the creatures. The Predator copied the droid's shield ability and produced a hardlight shield from his wrist. He brought the shield down on the swarm of creatures in front of them, pinning them to the floor. "Not sure how this will hold." Predator said. "But as long as I don't push hard enough to crush them, they should not be able to adapt to a non-damaging restraining tactic..."

Predator then turned his head to look down the street to where the Ibis was parked. He heard a Varanian roaring and saw there was a sparrow dropship parked next to the Ibis. He saw a Varanian in Champion equipment charging towards the creature that got loose. "That can't be good... Hope Hivemind gave him a stasis trigger..."

The large alien sailed past Tatiana and smashed into the bar, flipping over it and out of view. The barman responds by shaking his head and going to get a first aid kit with a casual attitude that suggests this happens a lot. Recon, meanwhile, grabbed the flying fighter, flipped through the air, and sent him straight into the floor. Quite suddenly, everyone within two feet of Recon was knocked back as she sent a flurry of punches out in all directions, knocking two fighters towards Tatiana.

"Yes, actually." MT said. "I... Don't want my entire existence to be entirely about fighting and war. But I don't know what else to do."

"I'm afraid I don't know what you can do either." Hivemind said. "It's something you'll have to figure out yourself. Why not try something in-between fighting and civilian life? Go out for laser tag or paintball. Maybe you could enter the Tournament today. Start off with something familiar, then branch out from there."

MT seemed to think about this for a minute. Then he looked at Hivemind and nodded. "That sounds logical. I've been around for 250 years, there's no need for rushing into drastic life changes. That is all I need for now. Thank you."

Hivemind nodded, then walked off.

MT turned to Chris. "What do you think? Using my fighting skills for recreational activities seems like a good place to start learning how civilian life works..."

Standing up slowly, he turned around to face the Lycanthrope, giving her a thoroughly satisfied smile as he wiped the blood off his nose. "Oh, you're good." He said, before rushing forward, a purple glow enveloping his body as he wound his fist up for a punch.
Eira grinned, then moved her ice arm to intercept the punch. Once his hand hit hers, a blast of steam erupted from within the ice. It coated everything in a dense, thick, white fog. Given Eira's fur is also white, she vanished almost completely in the cloud. It wasn't for long, however, as out of nowhere she swept at Kolt's leg, then launched a spinning heel kick to Kolt's chest to hopefully knock him onto his back.

"Thanks," Corp said to the Vixen. He decided that Liz probably had a plan. She usually did. But there was still something he needed to ask with regards the situation. "Hivemind," he said, "we're told an armed group headed out the back entrance to this tower shortly before the attack began. How do things look to the back? Anything usable there?"
----------------------
Keeva laughed for a few seconds. "Do you have personal shield generators in this world? It might be possible to invert them so what's inside can't get out or strengthen the field so nothing gets in OR out?"
----------------------
<"Good to know you're not perfect, sir,"> Dragrere commented drily. <"Lack of humour confirmed, eh?">
---------------------
"I suppose I have to be thankful for that," Jenevive admitted. "Their powers not being more... physical, I mean."
--------------------
"I know, I know," Hannabelle admitted. "I'm gonna have to set up accounts for the boys."
--------------------
"Rightyho," Jenny announced, turning on the system. She relaxed and limbered up, getting ready to use her power in a way she usually used her guns. She hopped from foot to foot before taking aim and 'firing' a low level pulse from her hands with a slight clap that sent the usual signals through her body.
------------------
"What's a Fox," Sana asked, before her ears pricked up. "Oh, don't bother. I'm fairly sure an Earth Fox might ask what a Celican is. And thanks, by the way," she added, smiling up at him.

"Well," Cherry elaborated as Sarah translated, "it's really just the ones across reality that hurt. The other one? I was using it to play with children yesterday. If you like I can do it once and I can let you see my mouth as I do it?"

"But I do not wish to have misconceptions clouding my own judgement. I will make appropriate edits to Hawk's personality profile in my database, and clear my preconceived perceptions of him." Hivemind lowered his arms and let loose a burst of static that could be interpreted as a snort of laughter. "As for your question... I have many files regarding anecdotal uses of your powerset, with that being among them."
The OtherSide chuckled, knowing which files Hivemind was referring to as well, before growing serious once more, "Yes, we, rather my kind, know of Odium and we are familiar with how anger can be used as a weapon against a mortal soul. It's something we've seen used for as long as the wind touched Hawk's body. For many years, I've been witnessed to many mortals letting the fire within them burn out of control and consuming them, making them nothing more then a raging inferno of hatred," it then stood up from the table, "Still, thank you for giving Hawk another chance," it first smiled with a lighter tone in it's tone before growing serious once more, "But I do have one request of you as well and do not let Hawk know I asked you to did this: I want you to lock him out of any file you have on him from today to the beginning. It is important you do not let Hawk see these files under any circumstance, OK?"

Tatiana watched Recon's moves with interest, placing her hands into her duster pockets. When the two fighters were knocked her way, without taking her hands out of her pockets, she kicked one fighter into the other, knocking them to the side. She idly wondered what the going rate for bar drinks actually was, all things considered, as she dodged under a brawlers haymaker and knee'd him in the chin and converted the kick into a fancy flip.

"This is fun."

Hivemind would get a ping from medical, apparently kol has been getting frustrated with not being allowed enough sleep and frequently waking up in a hospital bed, and intends to find other employment.

On an unrelated note, there's an extra bio signature in a washroom not too far from corp... and no clear indication of how it got there no matter how deep into the sensor logs one would dig. just one moment not there, the next, there.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Kolt seemed to know what Eira had planned, flying upwards and just barely dodging her attacks. Once in the sky, he gave her another smirk, before launching out a construct tendril, hoping to grab her and pull her upwards.

Quint stayed mostly silent, mostly focusing on the signals being sent through her body. How strong can you make the blasts before they start to hurt? He asked after a moment.

"Dang it." Liz muttered under her breath. "That complicates things. Okay, new plan. You two take the civilians and head down that back staircase, try and see what happened to the people that went down there. I'm going to head up to help Sal-Hleel, then get the people stuck in the elevator shaft. Got it? She said to Corp and Lewis, getting a curt nod from her son in the process.
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

You ever realize that the two longest pieces of literature in existence are both fanfics? Weird right?
