Hackle mimicked finally having a name for the really hard, cold water, hackle makes a note to see if the home had a library he believed it was called, keeping his nerves in check from hearing that the Gol.ret. controls fire, since his try at bonding with fire nearly incinerated the whole forest but stopped it creating about a mile wide circle, his home being the center point

Jake stepped aside as the group entered and Kaylee escorted Hackle to the room they'd been in earlier. She helped him sit. "Let's just make sure you don't sit on any of these tails," she said, moving all three to one side before he sat. "Do you want me to stay next to you," she asked Hackle.

I know you won't try to break my son in half, but there is such a thing as "not knowing your own strength," or "getting caught up in the moment." Lupa said, very clearly not in the mood for debating this. Until you can GUARANTEE that my son won't suffer any lasting injuries, there isn't going to be a fight.
But Moooooom!! Noah whined, sounding more like a toddler than the young adult he was supposed to be. We wouldn't get hurt!! It'd be fine!!
Noah, your mother said no, you should respect her wishes. Besides, I know for a fact you two would wind up trashing the yard.

Rig sat back in the chair and thought about those phrases hard, coming to a rather sad conclusion, "I- I have tobe on the side with your mother's worry. I am, uh, obviously a predator. I can feel the urge to hunt, like it is in the back of my head. It is easy to control, but getting caught up in the moment" could be a danger for both of us." He cast his eyes down, his ears travelling to the back of his head, "I can heal, but, I do not know if it will be in time. I do not truly want to hurt you. But knowing this, if you still want to fight... I'm not going to say no, but I'm not going to fight all out either. I know what I can do, I know my limits and I will not put them to the test."

Hackle sent Kaylee a soft smile, while he used wind to keep the chemicals in the cleaning supplies from his nose since coming in, the soft material, obviously not fur, obviously soft "no have to" Hackle rolled shakes his head at their "issue" "It's better to get hurt in a spar with loved ones and friends near, then it is to die in battle around enimies because you were not prepared" Hacckle quotes from Kavick Inkheart, the only sentence he remembered by heart though he kne half of the words meaning it made him feel wiser

Kaylee worked her way through the words as Andrew entered and took up his chair again. "I think I get it," she said, "it's better to test your limits against someone who won't try to kill you?" She nodded and smiled to Hackle. "Smart words, I think." She crossed to the sofa next to Amanda and slipped down beside her friend. "You look tired," she told her friend.

"You'd be surprised, Rig. Noah has already made one big crater." she says before listening to the thoughts of the pets and of Noah's owner.
"Well, how about this then. Instead of fighting, let's make a series of challenges and see if Noah or Rig can complete them quicker. Kinda like the Amazing Race but with magic." she suggests by way of compromise. "If there's to be a fighting component I'm sure we can make some sort of dummy to be attacked."

Amanda nodded, accepting the offered towel, "Thank you." She started to dry herself lightly, starting with her frost covered cheeks as she listened to the conversation, but stayed silent as the others said most of all that should be said and took a seat. She looked to Kaylee when she sat next to her, giving a small chuckle, "Maybe a little. It's been a long day, filled with more excitement than I'm used to. But, what about you? How have you been holding up with everything that's been going on? I mean, you practically carried Hackle here, and you've done a lot of other things today. If anyone should be tired it should be you."

Rig lifted an eyebrow, "I was there. I found him in a store and he got scared and ran away. Then I tracked him down and he got scared again so he punched me across the street. It was a pretty good punch, not too painful, but it moved me so it could not be that bad. I agree with your idea, a series of trials to test our skills, just like training. Sounds like it could be fun."

Kaylee felt like yawning but swallowed it down. "Benefit of being a wanderer, Amanda," she said. "We get by on only a bit of sleep most days and nights." She grinned to her friend. "Kinda alien for a cat, I know. And I needed to be close to Hackle," she added quietly. "He's scared."
"P...put me down for the, um, tests too," Jake said as he waited near Amanda for the chance to ask her what she wanted to drink.

Yensid and Retlaw dropped onto the couch as well, pulling their hoods down. Yensid leaned his head against Amanda's side and Retlaw simply sat upside down with his head across Yensid's lap. They would've seemed like they were asleep, if it weren't for the quiet melody they were humming.

"I'll take a piece of that action, Rig!"

Deciding to take that moment to speak up, Bonnie jumps in with, "I'd need Sandy's help with the pyrotechnics, but I could set up a replica of one of the practice drills from work? It's more a 'decisions under pressure' and endurance thing, but it might make a good starter round..." as she gets out her spell book, trying to find one that would be useful for making props.

Hackle sat there thoughtfully, watching them fret a bit over a missing kit was his best guess, having never met sandy offically or knew her scent, hackle decided to stay or he would get in the way of things besides to look around the new place till they returned seemed like a good idea, "Better mi stay, mi no, know scent, group slow with mi." he also jestured to his now only tingling leg but still keep him troubled with walking

Rig stood up and grabbed Noah's wrist, a faint glow coming from him as he drew on the power of his runes, "She is not here. Even making my senses stronger, I can not smell her in this house. She must be out of doors." And in a flash they were gone, this time appearing on the roof of the house, giving them both a vantage point.

Holly suddenly finds herself sitting in midair as the wolf disappears from under her. She drops a foot or two with a cry of shock until she manages to catch herself with her power. She glances around and then levitates onto Andrew's shoulder as he's the nearest creature to her.
"What about you, Jake? Will you go with them?" she calls down to the rabbit before apologising to Andy in advance in case she freezes his shoulder.

"I've seen how well you control those flames, you were showing off that bird earlier, you'll do fine." Bonnie starts up, trying to reassure sandy, "Besides I've got a few safety... precautions... nevermind we'll talk later..." She trails off, as the other dog bolts off, feline counterpart in tow.

Looking around, and noticing others have left as well, she turns to her designated partner. "We're looking for that little gray rodent right? We should probably retrace the route everyone took earlier. If she went outside, it's a good place to start." She explains as they head out, putting her nose to work and following the scent trail the group had left earlier.

Sandy was pretty sure this was the fourth time she had walked past the same old rusted out truck, and was starting to get a bit worried... nothing but trees, trees, and more trees. Well, besides a stream, but there was no way she was going near water.
"Noah? Amanda? Rig? AnyOneOutHere?" They couldn't ALL be too far away to read clearly... she was just tired, that had to be it...

the dozen random wild animals she was sensing don't count...

"Keep it down. Sunset isn't for another hour. sheesh. Some of us are still trying to sleep." A grumpy voice complained from somewhere above her. a glance up revealing brown and white tail feathers sticking over the edge of a nest above her.

Hearing his name called, Sandy looks up from following the remains of the chinchilla's scent. "I'm here, Kay-" he replies automatically, cutting himself off and facepawing as he realises his mistake.

Kaylee shook her head as she heard Sandy Dog. "That dog... Oop, hang on Bonnie..." She put her hand in her pocket and came up with an old, brick style, mobile telephone. She dialled a number. "Hey, Andrew. Can you set something up for me?"

Before Holly could hop off, Andrew's phone rang and had pulled the clamshell style thing from his pocket and opened it up. "Heya, Kaylee," he said. "When did you get..? Pardon? Oh, Ok. What?" He listened. "I'll ask. Good luck." He hung up and turned to Hackle. "Kaylee asks that, if anyone brings the missing Sandy back, can you signal the others? Something like a short burst of lightning or one roll of thunder?" He looked Hackle in the eye. "But only if you're OK doing it, yes?"

Amanda was caught off guard by the sudden leaving thanks to Sandy, but quickly started looking around once they exited the house. She couldn't help but giggle as Sandy mistook the calls for his name, "I can only imagine how confusing that can be. But, you smell anything Sandy? I don't see anything."

Hackle looked thoughtful as he register what was asked of him before getting the idea and nodding "Yes, for now mi, look around" Hackle used his nose to follow the largest closest smell of dust, leatherg parchment & ink, as he heard was a books smell from the whispering winds, hackle huff as his tingling leg was crawling to normal, this thre tails coiling around each other to look like one massively fluffy tail
