"Don't you mean the Pridelands?" Joey jokes, causing Jake to facepaw.
Unaware of proper etiquette regarding people's homes, Joey hops up to the house that Met had indicated and pushes on the door as he saw the lion doing at the clinic but the door doesn't open. Confused, he looks back at the lion.
"Why doesn't it open like at the bowling place or like at the vets?" Jake is just as clueless as his twin as the roos, being from the wild, have not even encountered a locked door before, let alone a permanent home aside from the burrows of the various animals in the bush, and they'd never had any reason to want to go into those anyway, not that they'd have fitted if they'd tried.

"You need to turn the handle," Met said as he walked up to open the door. "And it's usually polite to let the person who actually lives here enter first."

As soon as Met opened the door, a black and white streak swung out of the doorway and tackled him... Or just hugged him, kinda hard for a monkey to tackle a lion.

"Welcome home," Maria said. "I see you've made a few friends... Oh, hi again, Namine." The monkey waved to the ocelot.

"Fine, I've just been hanging around here for a bit," The monkey replied. "And who are the rest of your friends?"

"These are Joey, Jake, and Aida," Met said introducing everyone. "Everyone, this is Maria."

(OOC: If there's someone in the group I forgot to mention, let me know and I'll edit it)

"Oh... S-sorry..." Joey turns to Jake.
"So many rules!" he mouths behind Met's back. The roos are slightly startled as the bundle of fur flies out of the door but seeing that the lion isn't concerned, they quickly calm themselves again.
"Er... Hi. I'm Jake, and this is my brother-"
"Joey. Pleased ta meetcha." The roos simultaneously offer their paws to the monkey.

Aida ran up to Maria and shook her paw vigorously. "Hey, I'm Aida, nice to meet 'cha!"

The monkey shook each of the roo's paws, then shook Aida's. "Nice to meet you too," she replied happily. "So what were you guys gonna do?

"We were just going to play some video games," Met answered. "Jake and Joey have never played."

"Then what are we waiting for, let's get inside," Maria said before hopping off of met and going inside. Met followed.

The roos follow their hosts in, Joey clunking his head on the lintel as a result of a poorly judged bounce.
"Gah!' He rubs his head.
"Low hops inside. Gotta remember that." His brother hides a smirk as they wait for further instructions from their hosts.

Watching the Roo bump his head Aida couldn't help but giggle a little. "There are certain advantages to being kind of short."

"Being tall has its upsides too." Joay grumbles good-naturedly as he rubs his head.
"So this is a house... It looks just like the pictures in the drive-in." Jake observes.

"Yeah. Well, that's what the sign out the front calls it anyway." Jake shrugs.
"The humans sit in those... noisy, smelly things they use to go really fast in and they watch movies up on the big, white thing."

"I've heard of them," Met said. "I've never actually been to one, they're not all that common these days."

"Dad took me to one once," Maria added. "For a screening of one of his old movies. Met couldn't really fit in the car."

Jake snaps his pawfingers.
"Car. That's the word. They sit in them."
"Meh. They stink. And they're loud." scoffs Joey as Jake knocks a lamp with his tail, unused to manoeuvring in confined spaces. Used to plants knocking his tail in the bush with no consequence, Jake barely notices his blunder as the lamp begins to topple behind him.

Maria immediately jumped to grab the lamp as she yelled "Got it!"

she was able to set it safely back on the table. "Watch your tail, please," she said with a smile. "Some stuff here isn;t light enough for me to catch."

"Huh? Oh... S-sorry. I didn't even realise I did that... I'm not used to being in small spaces like this..."
"So... where are these video games?" Joey queries.

"Right this way," Met said, leading the other pets into the game room. There was a TV with multiple game systems, as well as a pacman game and a pinball table. "I just need to set up the system," he explained as he went and started to mess with wires behind the TV.

The kangaroos just stare around, confused, not knowing what any of the electronics are save the television, and not quite knowing what to do with themselves while they wait.

"Nah, I've got it," the lion replied, emerging from behind the TV and turning on the Wii and the TV. "Shall we start with a little Wii Sports, or maybe some Mario Kart?"
"Ooh, Ooh, I call first player," Maria called excitedly as she grabbed a Wiimote.

The roos startle briefly as the screen flickers to life and the Wii music blares from the speakers but quickly settle down again.
"I have... no idea."
"We'll follow your lead." Joey picks up another of the controllers and tightens the strap around his paw as he'd seen Maria doing. He then stares at it, confused, and experimentally taps a button.
"So... This is something multiple people can do at once, is it? Or do you take turns or what?"

"Well that depends on the game," Met said as he popped Mario Kart into the Wii. "This game can have up to 4 players at once, but others you need to take turns." He hooked up 4 game cube controllers to the system and offered two to the Roos.

The roos take a controller each and Joey, finding himself with a game cube controller and a Wiimote and unsure which to use, turns his head from side to side as he looks between them. Jake, on the other hand, stares at the single controller, unable to make head nor tail of the buttons and joysticks. Holding it upside down and with the cord pointing towards himself because that's the way it was given to him, he looks to Met for further instructions.
"So... What do I do with this?"
"Am I supposed to use both or what?"
"Do I need one of those?" Jake points at the Wiimote on Joey's arm.

upon seeing the roos' confusion, Met reconsidered his initial game choice. "Know what? let's start with wii bowling, it's probably easier for a first game," he suggested as he went a switched out the game discs.
"We'll only need one controller for this one. Maria, you can go first so they can see how it's done. Joey, Jake, you can put down everything for now."

"All right." the roos put down their controllers.
"Urine bowling." smirks Joey.
"We'll try anything once."
"Yeah. So how does it work?"

The next day, after browsing their way across the lawn, the roos decide to go for a wander around the town to see if they can meet any of the friends they met yesterday again. Harry doesn't want them for the day and he'd made if painfully clear that he didn't want to be disturbed, especially after the phone call from the veterinarian. So, being somewhat prudent, Joey and Jake hop slowly down the street, chatting and laughing and heading in the general direction of Met's house.

"I'm off!" Zan announced as he dashed out of the house, his feet smacking against the ground. The jackrabbit ran full tilt across the yard, into the street, his head glancing around to see the new sights, failing to see the kangaroo out in front of him. Zan slammed into the kangaroo, knocking himself back a bit.
"Oooowww...."

The Mayer family tended to wake up a bit earlier than most families, preferring to get a good start to the day. When Met woke up he went through his usual routine of waking up Maria gently (or with a roar if she refused to get up) and heading to the kitchen to eat breakfast with their dad. He had cooked himself steak tips and eggs, as well as zebra steak tips for Met and eggs with a side of ants for Maria. After breakfast, Met went out for a quick run through the grasslands part of the neighborhood, with Maria riding on his back.

Near the end of the run, Met saw Joey and Jake... as well as someone he hadn't met. "Good morning," He said as he headed over to the others. "Good morning," Maria echoed.

Alchemy yawned and adjusted the glasses on his nose. He still wasn't used to town life, granted it had some benefits. Sleeping in a comfy bed beat sleeping in a trailer any day... Or night.
The gray wolf was currently sitting in one of the tables outside the local sandwich shop, a Cuban sandwich lay neatly in front of him, beside that was a notebook he was doodling in.
The wolf yawned again before taking a bite of his sandwich. Yum.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there! You all right?" queries Jake, helping the hare up.
"Hi, guys! Mr. Clumsy here is already proving himself a menace to society like he does every morning. How're you guys doing today?"
"Harrumph! Menace yourself!" Not having a retort, Jake resorts to poking his tongue out at his brother.

Namine headed out of her house once she had eaten breakfast. She walked for a bit and saw a gray wolf eating at a sandwich shop. "Hello." she greeted, walking over to him.

"I'm fine!" Zan said, accepting the help. "It's my bad, I wasn't paying attention. I just moved in to the neighborhood and couldn't focus on just one thing." He dusted himself off, grinning. "I'm Zan!" He glanced at the two roos with his open eye, studying them. "And you guys are kangaroos!"

"Yep. I'm Jake and this is-"
"Joey. His better looking twin. Pleased to meet you, Mister Rabbit." Jake rolls his eyes.
"You need to look up the definition of twin, Joey. We're identical. Plus Zan isn't a rabbit. Look at the ears. He's a hare."
"Oh. Right. Yeah. You don't see many of them back home."

"I dunno, Jake might be better looking in this case," Zan smirked. "Wouldn't say no to dinner with either one of you, though. Where do you guys live?" He scratched his left ear, a recent scar having been itching, and suddenly felt self conscious about the fact his right eye was always closed.

Joey puts on a look of mock offence while Jake cackles with laughter.
"Ha! You know something, Zan? I like you!"
"I don't!" Joey pokes his tongue out at the hare but can't keep the grin off his face. Hearing the second part of the question, the kangaroos' faces fall.
"Er.. Dinner would be fun but..."
"But our... owner.." Joey spits out the word as though it's something nasty that he's eaten.
"Yeah, he wouldn't like us bringing anyone over. It would have to be somewhere else."
"Least we can stay out later tonight though..."

"Aw, that's no trouble, we can hang out for the day," Zan said, his ears twitching at their hesitance. He decided to ignore it, and folded his arms. "What's there to do anyway? I just moved here. My dad, that is, my owner, had to drag me away from where we used to live. I got into a bit of trouble with an alligator... and a local dog... and a couple of pigs..." Zan thought about it, counting them off.
