Except that the shower is being held at our house so I sort of am going by virtue of living there and helping to set up plus I am really excited that more family members get to see our new house than just the ones we have seen already. So even if we do get snow, we would still have to figure something out and I would still be a part.

Sorrow: Apparently our backyard has ticks. I was awakened from a sound sleep by my mother who came home from work and let the dogs out as she came in and found a tick on her. So I had to pull it off and then take her to urgent care (and of course this time I drove) and they gave her medication in case it was a Lyme disease tick.

Sorrow: My work PC got busted and i'm in quarantine :c

Joy: Early vacation! (takes up my vacation pay, though, but oh well)

We never EVER had tick problems when we lived in our old house and when I got my tick in 2012 it was because I was at college and was in an art class and we were outside drawing near the woods. I was a bit shocked that I had one but I was treated rather quickly.

Annoyance: Straightening up the house for the baby shower even in a small house like this really is getting on my nerves since nothing is ever fully clean.

Joy: The baby shower was a wonderful success and I had a lot of fun! I also found out that I like mimosas!

Sorrow: On Saturday while preparing for the shower on Sunday, one of my cats got out. :(

Joy: But she came back home on her own today at 5:30 in the morning!

That’s pretty cool, Curious.

I was so worried that I was never gonna see her again because she was NEVER an outdoor cat to begin with except for the times she got out in the old house so I was a bit upset with that since she might not know the new house and also there are coyotes out there but I am glad she managed to come back on her own before anything untoward happened to her. :D

Sorrow: work is manic and I can see no reduction in the workload anytime soon, running on empty at the moment.

Joys: Went out for a walk round our local village to take a break and a small critter jumped out in front of us, ran down the path, paused, stood up and looked back at us before disappearing, I got a pretty good look and I'm 90% sure it was a Pine Marten, never seen one before other than on TV or anything like it round here and it turns out they are pretty rare but looking at photos online I'm fairly certain that's what it was (either that or a stoat with very unusual colouring)!

Had second Pfizer jab and I'm not vomiting toads so maybe we'll go out for ice cream Sunday when the local shoppe opens for the season. We were afraid they might have closed for good.

Sorrow/Astonishment/Confusion/Bewilderment: Somehow today, despite the fact that it is the middle of April and its SPRING now, we ended up getting a snow shower over here. Like how?! WHY?!

Joy: Today I just learned that the medication I have been on for over 15 years inhibits the Coronavirus in human lung tissue! So even if I do somehow get the Coronavirus, I won't have to worry (at least for now) about my lungs being destroyed!

Awesome sauce, Oded! Really digging that retro 90s style of CG.

I find it helpful to take periodic news "fasts". I am fully aware that an "an informed citizenry is the bedrock of democracy" but ... at my age and my stage ... personal tranquility episodes are critical to keep this bedrock from cracking up.

I can understand you guys, I'm also a little afraid of the vaccination.
Good luck to you both Dayzee and GC

My concern is that I haven't had a vaccination appointment at all. If I'm unlucky, I'll have to wait until autumn :(

If it makes you all feel more confident I had my jab a few weeks ago and had no reactions/side effects. I sympathise Tinnier with having to wait, hope you get an appointment soon.

Joy: having lunch today with three high school classmates. We're celebrating Gary's completion and signing of his Estate (we're 70-year-olds, remember), and another is a an old girl friend from long past who's still chums with my wife, too. And, sadly but of course, another classmate who "went his way" last week, hoping to rejoin some old friends. 8-) :) ;)
