I don't know what it's like to have a beloved pet die. *hugs* At least he went peacefully....

I offer my condolences as well, and please take comfort in your friends in the meantime, because we care about you.

Aww, Beagle, Im so sorry to hear that... Time heals all wounds...

Sorrow: My day off from work is usually Mondays, and since its a holiday on Monday, Ill only have one day off... without the paid holiday. The guys that have any other day off this week gets to have two days off with a paid holiday! Augh! Basically, Ill be the only one with one day off this week, without a paid holiday because its my "scheduled" day off!

For those of you who are confused with what Im trying to say, If I was normaly off on Tuesdays, I would have been off on Monday and Tuesday. Monday for the holiday, and Tuesday because its would be my day off. I dont get that extra day off because Memorial day is on a Monday. Bummer!

that's why my dad takes Fridays off. it's rare that a holiday falls on a Friday, so he often gets 4 day weekends.

Joy (since we gotta have at least some): I've been getting a lot more done in general over the past week and appear to be on track to actually finishing the current chapter of my story by the end of this month.

Joy: My parents set up for me a surprise birthday party! It had loads of my friends there, and was just one of the most amazing things in my entire life! I've never been so happy before. Sad thing is, I may have drunk a little too much.

@theblackcateyes: I'm so sorry to hear that.

But Brent is right--if she broke your heart you wouldn't have wanted her anyway. It hurts now, but it won't last forever, and you may find someone better someday. Don't give up.

@44R0NM10: No need to feel guilty--if anything, your joys might cheer up some of the people posting sorrows. I know if I had a sorrow to post it would get even more depressing seeing other people's sorrows ONLY, especially if they were worse than mine....

Sorrow: Ugh, im working till midnight or later tonight with my second job.

Joy: bought a netbook this morning! Spacificly because it still runs Windows xp, which works with what I need for work. Also, ill run and use ubuntu for home use! Only 200 bucks!

Also, RAEG: While I was getting driving practice on a fairly large main road, some guy pulled out into the street RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I had to slam on the brakes and swerve into the next lane over to avoid crashing into him.

Joy: And if we HAD crashed, it would have been his fault. I feel vindicated. :3

It's good to get that kind of driving practice, too! People can be really stupid when they're behind the wheel, so it's never a bad thing to get the lesson driven home.

I think the problem is that most people see this webcomic as "safe", as the webcomic equivalent of milk and cookies. That being the case, it attracts those people who, for whatever reason, NEED (or feel they need) something safe and stable in their lives because they have elements of their lives that are the opposite. But THAT being the case, such people may be easily disappointed and can get into conflict with each other.

That was why I posted earlier that part of me felt like making some sort of "consoling" thread. I didn't realize this possibility until I joined Radiant Gardens, and that led to a HUGE conflict/angst fest that I hadn't anticipated nor wanted. It hadn't even occurred to me that it was POSSIBLE. It's died down now, but it did happen.
