Online/Offline Gaming? Do you play any?

Post by merkamerka »

MMO's and Video Games... something that I see almost anyone who roams the internet somewhere lurks in these shadows. So what do you play? Nothing? Something? or had you tried it and just went, meh.

Me Personally I play-

Mabinogi(Heroes/G9)
Rumble Fighter
And am currently finishing Disgaea DS.

you?

Also, Bioshock, Dead Space, Fallout 3.
Mungyodance (sadly) was only gotten for the music. I have that bad taste.
Also, Maplestory I don't even remember why I got.
Well Of Souls I lost for aaaaages. I remembered it being really fun. I remembered wrong. U:
I remember I used to really not like WoW. Then I actually played it. Now I like it even less.
I'm not big on online games, or even really offline games, but I've played quite a few in the past.
I'll let people keep mentioning theirs and then I'll probably come in later with an "oh yeah i used to play that too".

If I listed all the games I have for my systems, I'd be quite a long list.

So, yeah, I'm a huge gaming enthusiast :D

Though currently I'm playing Killzone 2 and borrowing Prince of Persia from my friend, good games so far.
Pfft, and they said I couldn't toast breakfast cereal. Now look who's laughing!

Red orchestra, Far Cry 1 and 2, Cod 4, Half-life 1 2 and all of the Episodes, Counter-strike, Left 4 Dead, Gish, Deus Ex: game of the year edition, Doom 3, Sid Meiers civilization, TF 1 and 2, Roller coaster tycoon: platinum Edition, Black and white 2,
operation flash point, lugaru, Cortex Command, Battle field 2.

that's all of my games on the computer that is NOT a mod......
and i have a DS, Game boy advanced (the little blocky one with out a light screen), Xbox 360, Xbox,
PS2, and a Game Boy Colour.

i have a boat load of games i can play basicly, if there was a party and had two more TV's we could have a Gaming room all to its self. :D

EDIT: oh, and Jumplion, how's kill zone 2? I'm thinking maybe I'll get it and I'm just wondering how it is.

I liked mirror's edge more or so because it was really nice to look at, and had it's lawl moments. Such as the door... that's out of order.

How can a door be out of order?

The games that I consistently play:

Team Fortress 2
Left 4 Dead
Audiosurf
Guitar Hero 3

With occasional:
Unreal Tournament 3
Gears of War 2
Stuntman Ignition

And ones that I used to play, but want to play, but don't want to play:
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (A game that's actually hard to some point)
Chromehounds (cheaters ruined the metagame)

Sigh* Why not throw out Gamertags and Steamnames?
Buckdida, and [SS] Buckdida respectively. You know, I pretty much use the same name for everything. I kinda find that funny...

Well, most recently I have been playing the game Overlord for the 360. For any of you who don't know what that is, it's a game that has all the appeal of Pikmin with none of the parts that disgusted people. You lead a goblin army (called minions) that come in four colors. Browns are good for fighting, they can pick up and use objects as weapons, reds can throw and are resistant to fire, greens can sneak and backstab enemies and are resistant to poison, and blues can revive other minions and can move freely through water. Basically you go around maiming, ransacking, and pillaging innocent people in your attempt to kill off the seven "heroes" (each the embodiment of a deadly sin) who killed off your predescessor all in your final goal to be supreme ruler of the land. You do get some choices for good and evil at certain points. Like you can give the villagers their food back or keep it for yourself and your minions. You can choose to let the last of the female elves die or you can get a considerably large amount of gold.

I also have a weekly Ironclaw session that I play, though I'm not sure if anybody on earth even knows what Ironclaw is besides me and my friends.

Edit: I've also started playing Clive Barker's Jericho.

Currently I have Civs 3, The Orange Box for the PS3, HL2 Deathmatch for PC along with Lost Coast(Dudes, you can get it for free!) GTA 4, and Bioshock :>. Games I've loved in years past -not in order- have been Dead Space, Devil May Cry 1, Spyro The Dragon, along with Rypto(?)'s Rage or whatever it was, Medieval for the PSOne, The Crash Bandicoot series, Icewind Dale II, Einhander for the PSOne (If you have a Playstation Anything and see this on Amazon or EBay, buy it, awesome side scrolling shooter with KICK bubblegum techno made by the guy who did the music for the Final Fantasy games) Resistance: Fall of Man, GTA 1-3, as well as 3's spinoffs, F.E.A.R., The Jak & Daxter Trilogy and Jak X Racing, GRID, Uuuhm... Those are pretty much all the games that I've really enjoyed over the years and that stick out most in my head. As you can tell I've got a bit of a thing for Sony >:c.

What's the most recent, are there any games you're specifically playing in the now, or not?

I've started playing Maplestory as a kind of game for when I'm bored and have nothing better to do.
Which basically means I play it all the time. Anyway. U: It's even worse than I remember it dear god. But somehow it's fun. Dx

I have enjoyed playing, recently, Bioshock, The Orange Box, Crysis, and CoD4. Also, I hope to play Age of Empires II on some server somewhere, as it gives me feelings of nostalgia from time to time. I loved that game.

They keep making it harder to kill people, somehow.
It just seems harder now. It's like they don't want to drown in the pool.

Nonono, it started in the sims for console, when they made them smarter and let them get in and out of the sides of the pool (so you can only drown them if you literally surround every inch of the pool with chairs or something). Then they made them smarter again for the sims 2. I'm assuming they're going to be making them even smarter again for the sims 3. In fact, in an ad I watched they kind of emphasized how even if you just leave your game running oh your sims take care of themselves that's right they don't need you anymore so why don't you just go away forever.
lul, but really they're just making the sims far too autonomous and refined for a game, even a sim one. One day it'll be nothing more than watching a fish bowl of humans. U: anyway that's my opinion i'm going to eat some cake now

The games i play a lot are:

-Team Fortress 2
-Counter Strike: Source
-Left 4 Dead
-Insurgency

And i'm going to buy Unreal Tournament 3, tried it in this free weekend and i really liked it, for $9 i think it's a pretty good deal.
I also have installed GTA 4, Doom 3, SW: Republic Commando and a couple extra Source mods.

I have quite a few games for Xbox, GC and Xbox 360 too. But my 360 has been collecting dust since i got into pc gaming again. I used to be really good at Halo 3, but i'm still pretty good at PGR4 =].

I will place heavy emphasis on Starcraft (Brood War)
Also Diablo II (Lord of Destruction)
And many older games from the SNES (LoZ: A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, Final Fantasy III (VI), etc.)

The current generation of games has its fair share of 'masterpieces,' but they are pretty much all shooters. Now, there is nothing wrong with shooters- just I, personally, am not too big on them.

Not that I don't think Bioshock, Silent Hill, and Dead Space are great games- because they are. But I would prefer a good ol' RPG or RTS.

ALSO: Starcraft II! I don't expect it to be released until late 2030, but hey, at least we know it is coming.
