It's easy. You listen to a two hour song.

So... anyone know any good two hour songs?

I know a twenty minute song, I guess you could play it over six times, although you may not live through that.

I have an alleged 55 minute song but I think Steven Wilson is full of crap when he calls The Incident one song. It's less coherent than The Wall and that was never called one song...

The closest I have are 42 and 44 minutes, but that's not nearly 2 hours. :(

I know a Goa set of two and a half hours long, a mix of Astral Projection vs MFG of 51 minutes long, a couple of song of thirty minutes each and another Goa set of one hour.

I saw Yes and Styx in concert. It was pretty much amazing. Yes was pretty awesome musically, but they mostly just stood there and played. Styx is a much more fun band to see live. I've never seen a band put on a better show.

*pouts* I want to see Styx! I love them.

I'm probably going to see DJ Tiesto in concert this September. It's bound to be lots of fun.

I never knew that a drum set can be included in a classical piece.

Andre Jolivet - Concerto for Percussion Mv. 4

The percussion's was too loud, I think, but it still blew my mind away. @.@

To be fair, in comparison, Black's new song is a lot better then her last...about on par with all the other pop songs right now in my opinion...(that being said, I really don't like many pop songs, and only a few make me want to hear more)

If anything else, a lot of covers and remixes of her stuff I like.

I had read exranio's latest fanfic update, and the situation there reminded me of this song that I once heard about two sisters.

Double Scarlet

Yes, it's a vocaloid (computer-generated voice) song, and yes, the characters are from this major fandom in Japan, but the message of the song and the innocence of the younger sister (the one with crystal wings) really gets me sometimes (;_;)

This is great except it's so long. I can't listen to songs that are that long, particularly electronic ones, which don't have the advantage of engaging lyrics as the focus to keep me interested and can often sound rather repetitive. Like, I think deadmau5 is pretty good, but jesus most of their songs are at least 6 minutes long. It's easy to loose interest. Raise Your Weapon, for example, is nearly eight and a half minutes long. Great song, but honestly if it didn't have lyrics I would never listen to it. The Madeon Remix is a little over three minutes, and a THOUSAND times better.

ranting aside

I enjoy this song.

A lot of the lyrical stuff these days I really dislike. People's use of vocals doesn't sound good to except in rare cases, or in older music. In some cases the vocals ruin what would be an amazing instrumental.

In other news my DJ Shadow Pandora station was a success and found me this
