I finished the egg noodles that my aunt gave me but I also made the mistake of drinking the grease that was at the bottom thinking it was flavorful sauce.

It was not flavorful sauce. :|

Yeah well don't worry. I am not about to make that mistake again. I finally have it figured out.

To think that Spongebob Squarepants tried to say that grease is delicious.

I once cooked a burger in bacon grease. Tasted great, but was pretty close to a food coma afterwards. Don’t recommend.

I'm sure if it is the right kind of grease it is delicious but for me it just sounds like it would be a bit nasty and far too fulling too fast.

Jeez, you guys are all gonna clog your arteries and give yourselves heart attacks with all that grease and greasy food.

Then again I'm one to talk, all I really eat is fast food.

But that's only coz my parents fed it to me when I was young and I didn't realize it was fast food coz it wasn't from Mcdonald's.

My RL love interest had to tell me that actually, yeah, it's fast food. By which time I was in my mid to late 20's and I had no idea how to aquire non fast food and right now don't even have a lot of money available to buy non fast food stuff. Why is raw meat from the raw meat isle so expensive for the amount you get?

And fresh fruit and vegitables can very quickly get rotten. My RL love interest and I have a habit of forgetting we even have any fresh fruit if we do get it. Or rather, she forgets and I have no idea when the best time to offer it as a snack is.

Oh yeah, I'm back, by the way. I stopped coming here a while ago because I kinda lost interest in posting on the threads I regularly posted in. But now I wanna be sociable and talk to people so I decided to have a nosey in here again.

Why's this forum dark themed now?

Welcome back!

We had to replace the themes because the forums borked. The back-end software got updated so the front-end theme we used to have was no longer compatible. Unfortunately it had been discontinued so we'd have had to completely rebuild it ourselves from the ground up if we wanted to keep it with the new back-end software.

None of us had the time for that so we've updated the themes instead. If you don't like the dark theme you can change it in your user control panel. It's under the Global Settings section of the Board Preferences tab.

Bear in mind that we're still working on things around the back so the list of available themes may change. We're also working on getting our custom header image back.

I didn't neccessarily say I didn't like the dark theme. In fact I do prefer to use dark theme where available. It's easier on the eyes than having white everywhere.

Alright. Uncle died of a heart attack out of the blue. He was 48 years old so its not like he was old. He was the only son out of my mother and two aunts. He left behind two daughters and two stepdaughters. My mother is stressed about ANOTHER funeral. One aunt (his sister) is hysterical and thinks that he had the heart attack because he was stressed about the house being sold even though he and his wife had an apartment wind up. I don't know what to feel which makes me feel guilty. His widow who is also my aunt is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. She had no money for a funeral so we have to cremate him. This takes place on Wednesday. Plus I have no worldly idea how we will be able to do a service with only 15 people being allowed into the funeral home.

That about covers it.

Coronavirus is making it worse. Now its spiking again. I don't need this. I want everything to go back to (relative) normal. This is doing a number on my mental health. We will only be able to be in the room for 2 minutes before we have to leave then he gets cremated.

I was hoping to find some peace then I walked outside and found out one of the koi fish committed suicide by BEACHING itself outside of the pond. Pretty much an allegory for my life how I feel beached in a sea of misery. I just want 2020 to be over.

My long standing practice has been to keep repeating the old Army mantra, "This Stuff ENDS!" You may prefer another word beginning with the same first letter as "Stuff" for the subject. Again, I'm so sorry for your difficulties, Amazz. :(

Certain people are unwilling to trust any kind of Coronavirus vaccine that's released because apparently Bill Gates is backing the creation of one and everyone's like "He's not a medical professional, he's a business CEO, what does he know?" or something like that.

So I take it you don't buy any of the conspiracy theories that circulate the interwebz? All the ones saying people with wealth and/or political power are conspiring against the masses of normal people one way or another?

Mmm. It is a bit weird how they're straight up not bothering to hide stuff that just looks so obviously like a conspiracy going on right in our faces.

So I can see the reasoning where that kind of stuff is just a red herring...unless that's just what they WANT us to think...unless THAT'S what they want us to think...unless...

Gah, it's all a whole befuddlement of 4-D chess.

Yeah, it's just a question of how far they're willing to go. And according to some of the conspiracy theories I've come across, it's very darn far.

Heck with some of them the people with power / wealth are also just plain the worst kind of evil.

Most conspiracy theories are nonsense.

People want to be powerful. Powerful people have the means to stay that way.

People want to be rich. Rich people have the means to stay that way.

Sometimes people get hurt if unscrupulous people do that. It's not really a secret conspiracy, it's just the unfortunate reality of power.

A lot of people buy into conspiracy theories to gain a sense of control or power. The conspiracy sets up a big bad that is virtually unstoppable, but then it tells you that just by knowing "The Truth (tm)", you are part of the resistance. They allow you to invest as little or as much into them as you want and still feel useful and like you are part of a community. The reason rich powerful people are usually the big bad in conspiracy theories is probably more for economy of storytelling than any particular desire to bring any of them down. It's easier to believe the rich powerful people are in control of a big bad thing because almost any big bad that actually exists has rich powerful people at its center.
