I JUST moved out of New England. I rented and had no good way to hook a generator up to the house so I just dealt with power outages by... uh... Not doing anything I guess. Just sleep and work. I didn't feel like investing in one when I knew I wouldn't stay.

Like we used to say in the Army ...

Don't run if you can walk...
Don't walk if you can stand...
Don't stand if you can sit...
Don't sit if you can lie down...
If you can lie down, you can go to sleep...
When you sleep, you're not in the Army until you wake up!

Sounds to me like the frickin' ARMY of all things is encouraging lazyness. Since when does laying about doing nothing but sleeping win wars?
PLEASE tell me I'm right in suspecting it's just some kind of metaphor for finding clever solutions to do things an easier, more efficient way or something like that.
And what's that "You're not in the army till you wake up" part about? I don't get it.

Edit; Wait wait wait, I got it...the army is trying to make fun of lazy people, right? Sarcastically quoting the kinda stuff a lazy person might say? And then that "wake up" line is to promote the army's ability to teach you discipline.

Sounds to me like soldiers comiserating about the hardships of army life and the solice of sleep and encouraging each other to take opportunities for rest when they are available

Plus, given the war Weston would have first been of age to fight in, I'd fully support any soldier whose coping method was to just try and survive by doing as little as possible. I've never been through hell, and I won't judge those who have

What would have been the first war he was able to fight in? Vietnam right? I only know about three great past wars and that is both world wars and Vietnam.

I've never been much one for writing things - my creativity died sometime in my sophomore year of high school - but the other night at like 2am this idea came to me for some kind of fan writing that I could throw in the Fan Projects board. I'm probably not going to end up doing anything with it, but I wanted to put it down somewhere in case I change my mind. Maybe get some thoughts on it, who knows.

Inspired by some of the letters soldiers would write home to their loved ones in the Civil War, I had the idea to tell a story through the lens of such letters. Maybe of some regiment or group sent off to fight, and whoever their fighting managed to utilize/weaponize some of that cursed gold unbeknownst to the narrator(s), which starts out as a little-believed rumor that eventually becomes all too real. I've got a couple of ideas for scenes/letters already, but major plot details still aren't settled, e.g. who would they be fighting? Some sort of animal uprising? Would it actually be during the Civil War? If so, which side is it following? If it IS Civil War or shortly thereafter, it might be able to tie in some of the "Confederate Gold" myth; the other side has to have gotten their hands of that cursed gold somehow.

Anyway, just some thoughts and ideas I wanted to get down/share before I forget, even though, as I said, I'm not likely to do anything with them.

The idea really sounds like one that would be intriguing! I don't think your creativity died completely after your sophomore year of high school and it is just hiding!

Thinking about making a thread in this specific forum thats "Not the Comic" where I essentially review all manner of video games (Primarily older video games, even going as far as reviewing all manner of emulation equipment as well as various accessories among other stuff.)

I think he would want to do a thread where he reviews video games and equipment and if he did that in the actual thread it would end up cluttering up with the other posts that don't have his reviews in it and it would be hard to find a review with the other posts that end coming through talking about other things.

Exactly what I was thinking when I asked about said game review thread. I'll see to it that I have something ready around December 27th or so.

Yeah, but they'd be perfect for the video game thread. Unless you were planning on doing a review a day, which you'd have to be insane to attempt

I think he plans on doing them frequently but not that frequently and it would still be hard to try to find all of them when people change the topic in the main video game thread.

Don't know if this is the place for it, but whatever. I'm doing a poll on Twitter to decide who becomes my Fursona's partner in the lore I'm developing for him. Really appreciate it if you headed over there and voted for the one you like the most. https://twitter.com/JackSeebohm1/status ... 4297533440

Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

You ever realize that the two longest pieces of literature in existence are both fanfics? Weird right?

Why DO we put bandannas on dogs, anyway?
Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But [The LORD] said, “Yes, you did laugh.” - Genesis 18:15 (NIV).

For some reason especially, on "working" dogs like collies, shepherds, shelties, retrievers, and such. :)
