Found this little gem on Disney Japan's site. Judy Hopps giving us a hello for Christmas =3

Japan tends to do this alot with movies like Frozen and Big Hero 6 with these teasers. I hope they do it with Zootopia as well. <3

Nice cast so far! No Housepets since it makes sense not to add any because you know... no humans XP

Mrs. Otterton, Finnick, Bonnie Hopps, and Stu Hopps are so cute ^^

From what I hear it may deal with furry animal stereotypes like bunnies being delicate, foxes being sly and otters being lazy and playful. Also why Judy took Mrs. Otterton's case even if she is meter maid (being a rabbit barred her from being a real cop).

Also - love how the antagonizing story is about animals going wild and attacking other animals. that's actually pretty scary.

I'm excited by the trailer! Though I don't think it is gonna do much for *most* adults. Which is a shame because I want my friends to want to see it still.

Now my question is - how popular will this be in Japan?

Will they buy it because of the adorable animals? (Space cuteness is their thing. bunnies are up there as well) Or will Japan get a awesome lead singer playing Gazelle just like they did with Frozen?

This movie looks like it will be a lot darker than I originally thought. I can't wait.

Yeah, I'll admit, I was more caught to it when it showed a possible darker story. Cute animals that take on something serious? That gets me interested, and makes me hope it does well. Sort of like Watership Down. Cute bunnies, but nature isn't a nice place.

So many mixed feelings.

I am pretty old (trapped (cursed to be?) in a young person's body), and easily embarrassed. My hope is that the nudist community bit wont be stressed too greatly.

Otherwise, the animation looks great, and I think they are doing a great job with the anthropomorphic proportions (oh. my. goodness... I am so happy right now. Those words!)

What concerns me is, this looks like it will have a really good plot, and, if executed correctly, gain a lot of popularity. Why is this a problem, you ask? Because, then they will be tempted to make a sequel! If they make a sequel, we will be forced to watch it for love of the characters, only to find that they (most likely) will be either stressing the most unique qualities of each character to try to recapture what made them loved in the first place, thus simplifying the character to the point of pointlessness, or flipping their personality for shock value slash setup for plot conflict, to the same end, if by different means, as the first option (Count those commas! This is not a sentence anymore, its a punishment.) .

Or maybe I am paranoid. Sorry. I commit to my stories, and it hurts when they betray me.

In the end, the mixture of comedy and drama in these animated films of late have been wonderful, but seemingly impossible to recapture in the same universe (except for perhaps with toy story, but that one wasn't my favorite, anyway. Don't judge me

. )
