Well, that is the best kind of relationship to have with the one person you can't get away from

Another one that I had seemingly forgotten about until I came back from my vacation: smelling books. Especially textbooks or magazines because I like the smell of them.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, I ship Bomberman and Krystal. Both are much desired options for player characters but both wound up as Assist Trophies.

Since Star Fox Command was the final Star Fox that Krystal will ever appear in Star Fox, I figured Bomberman would be shipped with her and the two may as well make a perfect Crackship to me.

Let's make the Krystalbomb ship so.

Another one which might be because of my OCD but I'm not sure. The volume on my television has to be set to an increment of 5 or else I can't focus on the show. So like 5, 10, 15, 20, ect. is what I mean.

Me, too ... but you'd expect that from a teacher, I guess. ;)

Me as well! Old books have a great smell to them, the Bambi ones I got a while back smelled of old library if you know what I mean, one reason I prefer real rather than e-books and the physical bindings and covers.

One that I never thought was weird until I really thought about it. Whenever I see one of my pets laying still and in an odd position, I have to poke them with my foot to make sure they are still alive. That would be understandable with the two elderly cats we have, but the 3 cats and 2 dogs we have are young.

A habit I've had since childhood is pointing when I walk. If I'm walking down a street and I'm going to turn a corner, say, I'll raise one hand to waist level and point my index finger in direction of the turn. If I'm going down a hall, I'll point at doors as if I'm counting them. Before I climb stairs., I'll point up the steps.

That sounds like it is interesting. Can't say I have ever done that.

I tend to grind my teeth at night. And I'll walk in circles for hours on end, just to think.

Doesn't happen very often anymore, but I still occasionally start whistling in the library. Dunno why. Did it as a kid and still do it. Mercifully, I catch myself after a couple of bars and stop but, boy, it always gets the "look" before I stop.

I usually keep my hand on the gear shift even in automatic cars. I think I drove standard for so long it's just a reflex

Yeah, sounds right. Ever accidentally 'shifted gears' into Neutral while driving?
I've known a few folks used to driving stick who've done that.

I'm going the other way, I've primarily driven auto but I recently bought my first stick shift car, the '86 Mazda RX-7 project.

As for habits of my own, I always have to have my keys in order on my carbiner, and keep my model vehicles organized by make, model, and color. Probably minor OCD.

I did this when I was about 6-8 years old, but during the summertime I went out to the garden and acted like I was a presenter of a documentary showing what lives in an average garden, like orb weavers in their webs on the hedge (which was unfortunately destroyed by caterpillars years ago), other insects or lizards. I watched documentaries with Sir David Attenborough and the episodes about insects and spiders particularly piqued my interest

Here is another one that I just realized I do. When it comes to measuring time, I sometimes use music songs. For example it will take me 4 and a half songs to get to work when I drive there.

I don't think that's so strange, I do it too sometimes...
...though it can be hit and miss, 'cause the songs I listen to a lot can go from two minutes long to almost twenty.

When I watch soccer matches (or play FIFA) I always refer to the players as 'gentleman' for some reason

Which I had to admit is ironic because sometimes soccer is NOT gentle to the body. At times it can be just as brutal as American football (since everybody else calls soccer "football").

There certainly are some rough stuff like the so-called Brexit tackles and injuries, for example I remember seeing a match when one of the players quite visibly broke his arm... not a pleasant a sight, that's for sure.
Another reason why it's ironic is that there are plenty of players who are a little dense (and also a lot of very smart players like Romelu Lukaku, Frank Lampard or Juan Mata). There is an interview with former Hungarian international Péter Lipcsei when he transferred from Ferencváros to Porto in 1995 and someone made an edit counting how many times he said "I guess" (Asszem) and "definitely" (Mindenféleképpen) and also emphasising some remarkable quotes like "My child will be able to learn Portugese language in many different languages"
