Maybe we should take a vote for which style that the forumers would prefer then?

Re: Chat Thread 41: Mod Maker
that sounds smart. Who can set up a poll?
Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho'(though) the soldiers knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

I guess since I am around a few Texans their accent is hardly noticeable to me now. I was about to ask if they had one.

Southern accents can be really cute if they're not too strong. It also helps if the person is kind and intelligent. When they don't play into stereotypes, the accent is quite charming.

I was born in the South and have lived in the South most of my life, but apparently I don't sound like it.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.
Re: Chat Thread 41: Mod Maker
Most americans have a generic American accent.
I can only recall this one girl in senior year of high school having a southern drawl.
It was kinda cute.

I gots me a redneck accent.
Being serious, where I live, you sometimes come across people with a New York accent. It's hard to describe via text, but it's not something I'd describe as cute.

Re: Chat Thread 41: Mod Maker
There really is no set "southern" accent. Accents are different depending on where you are in the south. Heck, that "redneck accent" I joked about earlier is a real thing where I am, and it sounds kinda sorta like a stereotypical southern accent to the point that I have no doubt people in other countries would mistake it for one.
It's the same for "British" accents. Accents actually change depending on where you are in Britain and there is no single one that you can accurately pin on the entire country.

Heck yes. I think Britain has far more accents, or at least a far greater variety of accents than the States.
Even we Australians have different accents depending on where we're from. For example the Queensland accent is different to the Sydney accent is different to the Hobart accent. In fact, my corner of Tasmania has its own distinct accent. You probably need to be a local to hear it though.

My voice is funny. It's a baritone drawl in a small room, croaky in a large room, and nasally over a microphone (And I mean annoyingly nasally). I can't even tell what kind of accent I could possibly have.
I guess that's the curse of being a Southerner in a diverse Northern state.

alot of people on the phone like my Canadian accent. I'm amused when some customers treat it as either a brookyn, Irish or scottish accent.

Britain has an enormous amount of accents. Here in the US/Canada, people have moved around a lot more so there is less variation. In Iowa, people sounds like they have a Wisconsin accent.Hlaoroo wrote:Heck yes. I think Britain has far more accents, or at least a far greater variety of accents than the States.

I've lived everywhere in the eastern half of this country, so I kind of picked up accent habits of all regions. Plus that fact that in Ohio, the accent is unique in each of the big and mid sized cities.
New Orleans has a VERY interesting dialect that sounds like a deep southern accent mixed with a sharp New York City accent.

I tend to relate "generic" with "boring," but Sleet is anything but boring.
Hey, I got a question of pure randomness. What kind of headphones/earbuds do you guys use (should you use them at all)?

I've been through at least 10-15 pairs of headphones in the past four years or so (around 7-10 of those were cheap Skullcandy earbuds).JeffCvt wrote:I tend to relate "generic" with "boring," but Sleet is anything but boring.

I most recently had a nice pair of Kicker headphones but they broke and then were stolen and thrown out by a former friend.
I now use a pair of headphones from a Nintendo DS until I can get the money the Kickers were worth back.
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 558s as well, but they use a nonstandard 1/4" jack and the adapter for them broke. It's $20 for a replacement adapter. Once I get the money back I'll probably just ask my dad to buy the adapter.

Well, I got some ear buds with my iPhone 5s that are very interesting.
Sound quality's pretty good, and they don't seem to fall out as easily as conventional ear buds.

How do you prefer to listen to your music? I've always favored headphones over earbuds due to having weird ears.JeffCvt wrote:I tend to relate "generic" with "boring," but Sleet is anything but boring.

I have me a pair of these <3
Not extremely comfortable compared to Sennheiser or Bose but they're excellent for the music I listen to. Also excellent for watching movies.
Save money and buy a good pair. Most high end headphones are durable and will last you a while.

Re: Chat Thread 41: Mod Maker
I have a pair of Sony earphones from the supermarket and they work really well. I also have a pair of INSYSTEM bluetooth headphones that I use sometimes and which also have great sound quality. The only problem with them is that they fall off, but I've never had that issue with my sony ones. I did have some folding sennenheiser headphones too but the cord wore out and so one side of them died. I broke my earphones that came with my ipod and had a pair of Sennenheiser earphones to replace them until they also broke.
Now don't get me wrong, sennenheiser is a good brand. They have good quality sound. I just found that they wore out.

Re: Chat Thread 41: Mod Maker
My pair of sennenheiser's broke after not too long as well. I think it was the same issue you had (and of all of the other pair I had previously) where one side would quit working AS WELL as the wearing cord.
They were an excellent $20 pair of headphones, but worth $20 nonetheless.
