You're lucky you even HAVE a therapist! I had one when I was in fostercare, but my parents won't let me see one anymore despite acknowledgeing my mentalness because they're afraid I'll embarrass them.Amazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 5:01 am Figuring out what to do for Monday since my therapist had to reschedule the appointment.
Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But [The LORD] said, “Yes, you did laugh.” - Genesis 18:15 (NIV).

Wow your parents sound like they are totally horrible. Any way you can get away? If you need a therapist, you need a therapist.

Re: What Are You Doing Today?
They're not horrible, they really love me and stuff and actually did take me to a therapist ONCE when they found out I was throwing away my meds, but they believe in confronting our family problems "in private" because we all have some REALLY messed up issues. They think it's shameful to talk about these things to people other than those in the family.Amazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Mon Mar 22, 2021 5:04 am Wow your parents sound like they are totally horrible. Re: What Are You Doing Today?
If my family refused to get my a therapist, I would just find somebody outside the family to talk to and make sure that people know what my parents are doing and why.
Anyway today I am trying to keep the dogs quiet because my mother has a Zoom meeting for work so they can't really be barking.

Re: What Are You Doing Today?
Zoom has an interesting effect on pets. Sophie likes to sit beside our chairs and eavesdrop. She doesn't lay down, she sits - maybe she's expecting an unseen hand to extend a treat. Many folks have dogs that bark, assuming there's a stranger in the house - maybe eight of them. One friend tells me her dog leaves the room and hates all the disembodied voices.
Many cats like to preen in front of the screen - of course, lots of cats love the keyboard. Some do meow and the missus has a friend with a yowler in the house. We have one friend with canaries and the birds like to trill when the conversations get going. Wonder what parrots do, especially those who talk? Reptiles, amphibians, and fish - dunno.

Watching the rugby to see who wins the six nations cup, been some good games.

Buncha zoom conferences on church matters. Even when it's enjoyable, Zooming wears me down sometimes. Sometimes, it's like a mass skype call ... or the Brady Bunch.

Re: What Are You Doing Today?
I’ve never liked Zoom. It’s mostly the fact that a horrid coworker in my old job kept being a um, charming young lady during the conferences, and also because they just drive me crazy because the sound on my iPad always seems to be wonky with Zoom.

I kin keep my enthusiasm under control easily. Part of the problem is interactions. People naturally talk over each other and, when your hearing is not the best, that creates complications. In normal conversation, I need a little lip reading to help but when everyone's talking, you aren't sure who to focus on. But waiting to get called on is tricky, too.

I actively despise football. It's not something that would ever interest me.

Trying to find new and interesting popular songs to listen to. I do like that new Maroon 5/Megan Thee Stallion song.

Re: What Are You Doing Today?
Not much. One of those days when you're doing a little bit of everything, not much of anything.

Still being astonished and befuddled that somehow in Spring and in the middle of APRIL we ended up getting snow somehow.
Re: What Are You Doing Today?
Once the snow quit (nothing stayed), had to pick up my DeskTop at Best Buy. Chores, ya know.

The missus and I went to downtown Buffalo this afternoon. City's still pretty subdued since our last visit, most shops and restaurants still closed. Small town suburbs are more open and "back to normal"ish.
