Studio B killed all of the Dinky/Derpy fanfics in one swoop today, thus proving again that fans know jack.

Also the twisting fans are doing to try and someone make Dinky still Derpy's daughter is pure LOL loaded fanwankey of the highest level. Get -over- it people.

I agree with Exranio. Sharing your opinion is perfectly fine, and some people are being a bit silly in how they're trying to keep Dinky as Ditzy's daughter, but there's no need to call everything fanwank and insulting what those fans know. That is NOT very friendly.

edit: just read a comment left on an EquestriaDaily post for this newest episode...commenter had the same pic as Foxstar has, so I'm assuming it's the same person...and all I can say is, Foxstar, why are you so rude about this?

I'm blunt, not rude. I present things in a hard outright manner. Also, not everything fans create is fanwank. Derpy however has become almost pure fanwank.

It's not fanwank when the creators play along. Her having Dinky as her daughter/sister, however, crossed the fanwank line a little bit.

@foxstar: it doesn't matter what you call it. if you're making someone else feel bad, even though you can get your point across without doing so, then there is no grounds to justifying that action. call it blunt, call it honest, its all the same and nothing more then a name. if you have distraught anyone with your actions, i suggest you apologize.

so the new episode was amusing in many, many senses. one thing that i am now certain about, that i wasn't before, is that the style is very different from the last season. last season it was very... "realistic". by which i mean it wasn't as "cartoony". i mean... all those faces and exaggeration are all very cartoon themed humor.

is anyone getting what i am saying? XD

and yet through all the previous season, Sweetiebell stayed with Rarity, and not her parents
and yet the way the scene was written, it seems Sweetiebell, comes and go a lot
it's just kind of confusing

for those of you who are fans of the Dinky/Ditzy idea and are trying to figure out the Dinky situation today here is a simple explanation
Dinky wanted to join in the race, she doesn't have a sister, and her mother is too busy with her job to act as her sister. so she does what Sweetiebell did and found a trustworthy adult to act as her sister for the day

I don't really see any damage done to the show's fanon. I enjoy my fanon. It's fun, entertaining, and brings a whole new set of stuff to work with in my head and to be honest I see no real breaking done. Well unless you saw Rarity's parents differently but everyone could only guess on that. Anyway what I really mean is that theres always different ways to interperpret things or even ignore some becuase fanon exists separately canon as if they were two alternate universes. In Berry's case it's easy to say she had a sister and a daughter around the same age (it happens) and Derpy's case it can easily be said that she just has two daughters (it is the sisters blah blah blah anyway).

And even then if you really wanted to you can ignore anything. Which is not me saying ignore canon for fanon it's that these background characters aren't actually thought out. Their all just comepletly random choices for putting extra's in places where they need extra's. We never had to acknowledge most of these ponies in the first place.
