Tabletop gamers, unite!

Post by Aquablast »

I am sure I am not the only tabletop gamer. In fact, even Rick plays D&D! ... I think!

So let's talk about tabletop games! What tabletop games do you play? When did you start playing tabletop games? What is your first game and how long have you been playing tabletop games?

As for me, I know how to play D&D 3.5 edition, D&D 4th edition, and Ironclaw!

However, I never played D&D in person. I only play through post-by-post (forums), but I am sure I can play through IRC or in person with little to no problems.

My first game is a 4e D&D game. Not surprising, since I think 4e is probably the easiest to pick up.

I play a little D&D 4e and have plans to play an essentials campaign. I've only been playing for two or three months and my working hours make getting game nights difficult so I'm still on my first full length quest. I was looking to get some 3.5e materials but at this moment in time blowing my cash on a new set of gamebooks wouldn't be that bright.
May you lead an interesting life.

Hey, you can actually find lots of stuff about 3.5 on the internet.

I've played D&D 3.5 edition, 4th edition, 3rd edition, and I've even played the original d&d once. I've played Legend of Zelda d20, Star Wars d20, Bleach d20, Ironclaw, Exodus, and GURPS.

Wow, so little comment.

By the way, I am sure most of you have thought of this. But anyone want to make a tabletop system with me?

I would be interested in that, perhaps!

Also, I forgot to mention Warhammer 40k. I play Tyranids.

I've never played online... How do you even do that? I've tried to read along with various campaigns but it's not quite the same.

D&D, 3.5 or 4th edition, personally, but I can play whatever.

Oh, and I have been playing Monopoly online with my friends recently. It is quite fun!

Good luck! Because it sounds pretty complex!

Yeah, they aren't exactly the same! When you play online, you focus a lot on description. While in person, it is more about action.

In person:
I attack the Kobold in L12 normally and use my Dragon Breath centering on K13, hitting the Kobold in L12 again as well as the Kobold in J14. *Roll dice*

In a post:
Lodrin swings his warhammer at the Kobold and follows up by spitting out a blast of fire from his mouth!

Basic Melee Attack Roll:[dice]1d20+8[/dice]
Damage:[dice]1d10+4[/dice]
Dragon Breath against Kobold 3 (L12):[dice]1d20+6[/dice]
Dragon Breath against Kobold 4 (J14):[dice]1d20+6[/dice]
Damage:[dice]1d6+2[/dice]

Standard action: Basic Melee Attack vs AC against Kobold 3 (L12).
Minor action: Dragon Breath vs Ref centered on K13 against Kobold 3 (L12) and Kobold 4 (J14).

Too bad we still haven't had our Ironclaw game, Dylan! It is a shame we don't have enough interest.

Hmm... does Magic: The Gathering count as a tabletop game? I mean, it's typically played on a table, right?

Well, I guess I actually meant Tabletop Roleplaying game. But yeah, card games are indeed tabletop games. XD And so are board games. Playing Monopoly with friends on the Internet is tons of fun!

I play Warhammer 40k,

The Imperial guard,

should I go air Cav with Vendettas?

I played and won my first game today and it was against Chaos Space Marines,

Death to the Heretics!

Then I played against an Ork player who was an expert player and loss(not that badly, I just got unlucky and lost my Valkryie in the first 3 turns and didn't get a chance to send my veterans to flanks his snipers with a flame thrower)

Hmm, I sorta half-played a game of HeroQuest once? Don't even know how it got in our house.

Does Scrabble count?
there is no such thing as luck. if there was, there would surely be at least one person with all of it, and nothing bad would happen to them ever. but as far as I can tell, bad things happen to everyone.

Yeah, I guess it counts too. The definition of tabletop is quite broad after all.
