I don't think ripping the ship in half was part of the plan. At least Lego hasn't mentioned anything about that part. It's possible for the ship to be damaged in transit without having it be literally torn in half.

I was kidding. Mostly. There are so few new things left to see in the universe. As Q says in Deep Space 9 'q-less' "I don't think I've seen a space station ripped to pieces by a wormhole before".

Just to make sure everyone knows what’s going on, the official plan is that while the Steelhaven is going through that warp gate thing we mentioned earlier (after picking up Serene and Busters characters), Insignia attacks and destroys one of the stabilizers that keep the artificial tear in space and time from collapsing in on itself. The resulting chaos launches the Steelhaven through dimensions into the Steelhaven universe, and some of the passengers might find themselves with new abilities they don’t know how to control.

how long into the future is this in relation to what's going on in Steel Haven right now? Were there any time at all of the new characters to get to know each other at all?

Well that bit’s probably gonna get sidelined anyways, since Insignia doesn’t exist in the BOH universe. Seems like she’s going to be added to the ever growing list of people who aren’t too happy about being stuck in another dimension.

The idea was that it would be during the trip to Earth after the current day I think. Anyone who wants to continue their characters needs to do some slight tweeks to the character sheets (A respec might be needed as the SPECIAL stats are different. If you want them to gain powers from the accident, they'd need to be listed, that sort of thing) so that they fit the BoH RP, and put the new versions in the BoH OOC. Nothing major, just enough to make them compatible.

If you wanted to join, Serence, I'm fine with that as long as you can keep up. The pace of the RP doesn't slow down much. I refuse to let it go silent for more than a couple days, if that. If you join, that mystery can be one of your arcs. Just because Insignia doesn't exist, it doesn't mean that her origins can't be explored.

So I think before we are allowed to move SteelHaven over, we need to know what people are doing with their characters. What does everyone plan to do?

I was thinking of having either Liz or Lewis gain powers, and I was going to tell you about it when I decided on who it would be. If Liz gets picked, she would get light manipulation powers, while if Lewis gets picked, he’ll have what amounts to a watered down version of the powers Rex Salazar has. On an unrelated note, I totally need to use the name Salazar in something, because that sounds awesome.

My thoughts on Corp being a major player in the BoHverse are coloured by the fact that, in the IOC stories I wrote, there's already a Corp Davidstowe and the RP character is based on the story character so, technically, a version of him already exists.

Keeva would be a good fit for engineering.

Not sure. It's something from Welsh's stories. I've read one of them, but I can't remember what it stood for.

It's kind of an injoke. I used to forget what it sood for - Investigation Oversight Commission, Interstellar Observation Commission and so forth when it was more of a background thing. So now? It just stands for IOC. It's kinda an interstellar FBI.

I think it’d actually be pretty interesting if they DID meat. See how similar and different they are.

I mean , the 2 Corps could be a paradox of each other, considering that the Corp in BoH would have to be an alien, since that Earth doesn't have anthros . SH Corp could eventually somehow end up backward in time and become that other Corp .

Joking aside, I mean it's 2 different dimensions/universes , so 2 different versions of the same person can exist I think

If you have never heard of alternate universe versions of the same character existing in the same superhero comic timeline then you haven't ever read a comic book. I don't think there is a superhero in existence that hasn't interacted with an alternate version of themselves.

She's not a team player, doesn't care about rules or authority, is a borderline sociopath, and won't hesitate to kill a target if it's more efficient than live capture.

Yeah, honestly that doesn't sound like someone Hivemind would hire. Not to be a champion at least. She could be a minor character with character arcs though. Not every character needs to be a champion. You just need at least one Champion so you can participate in the days' events.

And with that, the last post of Steelhaven has gone up. I wish I had some big speech prepared for you guys, but even if I had the time to write to something like that, it wouldn’t be very good. So I’m just going to say that I’m glad all of you enjoyed this little world I made, from people like Welsh who have been here since the beginning, to that one guy who quit after I told him his character couldn’t use nanobots to blow up the Barbarox flagship. I’m sorry I lost interest in this, but if anyone of you want to know what plans I had for this little RP, I should be posting a list of storylines I had planned sometime soon, either here or in the main OOC. In the immortal words of Porky Pig, that’s all folks.

As sad as I am that the RP that introduced me to RPing in the first place is closing, I am glad that it will live on in a way in Beacon of Hope.
