Hey! I go by Iapetus. I may not post much while I'm here, so don't be surprised if I more-or-less vanish after this. ^_^;; That said, I'll give a quick rundown for those who haven't met me before:

Self-described Occidentophile

Gender: Male
Age: 22
Birthdate: 10/31/1988
Location: The U.S.

Political Views: Somewhere between "conservative" and "libertarian". For the most part, anyway. >_>

Religious Views: A fairly conservative Christian. Raised Free-Will Baptist. In the process of converting to Roman Catholicism (an interesting jump, to be sure).

Education: High School Diploma and an Associate of the Arts degree. Currently working on a Bachelor's Degree. Double majoring in History and Religion. I'm a little behind in my education thanks to my own unyielding stupidity. Wasted almost all of my first year and a half of college. Lost my scholarship in the process. ;_;

Occupation: Student. Hope to be a librarian when all is said and done, but I'm not sure I'll be able to go for the necessary Master's Degree right away. Things are getting expensive. =(

Hobbies: Reading, Internet-surfing, playing video games, etc. The usual stuff.

Music: I like darn near anything, including classical music, Celtic music, rock (especially the classic stuff :3), electronic music, some bluegrass, Byzantine and Gregorian chant, folk music, etc. Specific singers/groups I like include Foreigner, deadmau5, Journey, E Nomine, Bach, Wierd Al, Thousand Foot Krutch, Clannad, Led Zeppelin, Newsboys, The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem, Uberzone, Vince Guaraldi, Jim Croce, RUSH, Mary McLaughlin, Dragonforce, Family Force 5, The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de Silos, Daft Punk, and others (along with a soundtrack or two).

Interests: I'll just copy/paste my list of interests from my LJ account. 'cuz I'm classy like that. :I My interests include ancient greece, ancient rome, animation, argument, art, books, cartoons, catholicism, caves, christian apologetics, christianity, church history, classical studies, comic strips, debate, eastern orthodoxy, ethics, fiction, forums, furries, latin, libraries, logic, lurking, medieval europe, morals, movies, philosophy, philosophy of religion, poetry, politics, protestantism, quotes, reading, religion, snooping, snow, the western canon, theology, webcomics, and western civilization as a whole.

jopencjusz: Ah! A Pole! A pleasure to meet you! =D I've never been to Poland, but I've heard very good things about it. If I had to leave the U.S. (and the language barrier weren't a problem), Poland would be one of my first choices for a new home, if not the first choice. =)

EDIT: And ja, it might be best if I hold my tongue regarding some of my interests. ^_^;;

Funny you should mention that. While I tend to associate the name with the corresponding Greek Titan nowadays, I originally took it from the moon "Iapetus". I found out about the Titan it took its name from afterward.

No no, I meant genuine stupidity. I didn't struggle with classes--I skipped them almost entirely and slouched about. I got what I had coming. *wince* -_0

I would share what i do for a living with you guys, but i despise it just that much.

I enjoy to work on my car, sit down for a nice movie, surf the web(I'm sure you could have guessed though), carpentry and listen to music(i like pretty much everything with the exception of most new style rap)
