Yeah, Bino sort of came to my mind, too. Maybe I should study him a bit. Glad you like the panel structure and all that. =)

Good drawing. Is he supposed to be waiting for a school bus, or something?

Nice. That's all I really have to say until it's actually finished.

Okay, so I've updated it now and actually put TIME into it this time. It's still not perfect I'm sure, but I sure hope it makes a bit more anatomical sense, and just overall looks better. The main updates include redoing his arms and hands, making him actually FACE the clock in the second panel, and lowering the "camera" in panels 2 and 4 so you can see more of the character and less of the white space/background.

Remember, harsh truth is kinder than friendly lies. =)

(Since this ended up on a new page, I'll relink it. Remember to Ctrl+F5 so your browser is forced to download the newest version!)

I'm sorry to say this, but...I can't think of any advice or criticism to give. The newest page seems perfectly fine to me, except the coloring.

:( I feel totally useless as a critic to you!

To let you know, I think it's really good, far better than I can do. There's not much critique I can give, either, mostly because it's not complete yet :P

Hey well, if you can't think of anything to critique, then maybe I'm doing fine XD

I suppose this is true, but at the sketch stage it's mostly just critique at a basic anatomy level, because it's always easier to fix the nastier mistakes in the sketching stage as opposed to trying to mess with the whole picture after you've finished lining it (or worse, once it's colored).

I started working on the strip after it, but I'm not sure I like how it's turned out. Ah well, I'll put it up here anyway to be picked apart, 'cause I'm not going to worry about detailing it until I've finished off the first strip.

Here's the next part, now excuse me while I line the first one.

Nice. Wonderful concept. You are doing just fine. You should really do a guest spot for Housepets!

I would love to see it.

First comic lined.

Also, just in case there's confusion, I'm referring to this as the first comic since the VERY first one was more of an introduction/test of style. This one here is the first comic in the "story", if there is to be one.

Anyway, opinions/critiques, if you feel so inclined =)

It's good. Like I said before, I'm no artist. I know very little about this subject, so I can't give any technical critiques. The actual storyline, which I cannot know at the moment, is probably great. Really I think it is pretty good.

Sorry I haven't had anything to show for a few days, I dun goof'd and misplaced my tablet pen, and... yeah, kinda screwed without it. I KNOW it has to be somewhere in the house, though (since I don't ever seem to GO anywhere but work) so I'll hopefully find it soon.

Okay so, as a Christmas present from God himself, my beloved pen has been returned to me... so I can draw again! Bad news is, as if in response to my fit of joy, my keyboard has ceased functioning after 8 years of faithful service, so while I still have my laptop to post here to you, using photoshop is gonna be tacky without the aid of hotkeys. Excuses excuses, I know, but I won't let it stop me! I just won't be able to put out quite as quickly until I get it replaced (which I'm HOPING to do tomorrow, but things rarely go as I intend).

Thanks for your patience, and I'll get some stuff done tonight! =)

I USE BOTH PHOTOSHOP AND ILLUSTRATOR K? K.

Photoshop to sketch, illustrator to line, photoshop again to color. =)
Illustrator I am sort of new to so I don't use as many hotkeys for it.,

Got a new one today, and I'll bet it'll only last a few months, what with how fancy and techy it is. Anyone ever notice that you can't buy JUST a keyboard anymore, they almost always come with a wireless mouse as well?

Anyway, on topic, now I have a keyboard and no excuses, so I'll get back to drawing when I get back from work tonight. =)

I'm so glad you think so! =)

So, to make yet another excuse, I woke up this morning with what seems like food poisoning or something like, so even though I intended to have page 3 and 4 done by 3pm GMT-8, I will probably be sleeping until then. Good news is I won't have to go to work at 3:30, so I'll have time to work on them later if I'm feeling a bit better by then.

Also, in case I didn't mention before, I'm putting organized links of the arc/comics in the very first post, rather than making a new post every time I finish a new comic, so check the first post to see if there's stuff you haven't seen yet! =)

I love this spinoff idea Kirby. The writing is great, so far...am I to understand this takes place in Canada? If so that's awesome. I can't wait to see the continued adventures of our adorable protagonist. Has his name been mentioned yet? Where can I find more information on the characters? Sorry for all the questions... I just got a late start on this and was curious about several things. -_-' heh.

Not to worry, this is fairly new as well. Yes, this is a Canadian spin-off of Housepets, his name is Buddy, there's no information page on the characters so far, but to sum it up, Buddy and Jake recently moved to a new town, have been there for three days, and they don't know anyone there yet. The first arc, "Man's Best Friend", will just be introducing them and their relationship, and future arcs will be introducing new characters.

Thanks for the questions, it's always great to see people take an interest! ^^

Jake is Bino and Max's dad. He likes to punch PETA people (not much of a problem), but is also a jerk who locked Max out in the rain and put a shock collar on Bino.

I thought there was something weird about it...I used 'Jeff' from the cast page recently, for him in an upcoming fan-fic...but the name didn't sound familiar from the comics. Now we need to know which is correct! O_o
