Why is it always Peanut? Why does Bino hate him so much?

Great update. I hardly noticed the difference. I am glad that the new club is getting the support.

Also Bino and his dozen followers. So small.

I think you have it down pat. Although the end is nigh, it seems. :(

Well, no, it wasn't 'rushed', in my opinion... rather, it was fated to happen. considering the foundations of this story are solid and that we all know very well what Fox's position is and how the general setting is developed, it would've been useless to prolong things until this much-needed confrontation.
The only thing that puzzles me is how Bino could still possibly think to 'win' a nonexistent contest. What, would he actually do harm to Sabrina? That would make HIM the most hated dog in the neighborhood, and frankly i can't imagine such a dramatic developement.
also YAY for Fox to show his true colors to 'der Fuehrer'!

I going to go with the whole cat-lover thing.

And CJ the whole thing wasn't really rushed. I had though of this chapter as a build up to the eventual show down.

Kudos to Fox for telling Bino his true self.

heh, my bets is on bino having been a cat lover himself in the past, and being somehow burned by the experience. And he hates a lot Peanut cuz Peanut is so happy with his lifestyle

I'm almost in the same pool, Valerio, but I think it is unrequited love for a cat when he was a pup. He pined for her, but she humiliated him. Or a group of dogs beat him senseless when they found out about him.

I'd delete option 2. it's not like CJ to consider such degree of violence, while a public, scalding humiliation would have made Bino the nice guy he's today.

Nice to see everyone is finally getting to the “Bino is a former/undercover cat/Other lover" I mean... just look at both of his brothers, I know that you can’t be part of a family of crazies and come out normal.

Just felt like saying that Bino never was or will be a cat lover in this story, but I do like the idea of the pup thing, maybe next time!

Bino is a very stubborn headed dog, always has been and always will be against cat lovers, so he would never just give up for any reason. So the only way to stop him is if he "wins" or he accepts their side but, the Freedom to Play group has no interest in dealing with Bino so he may keep going until he does something that really shakes up the neighborhood. So ya'll will just have to stay tuned to see what happens!

So i got curious and checked out this forum yesterday and now I'm obsessed with this story! Tons of kudos to you CJ! This comic is so perfectly romantic/dramatic/everything!

Is this almost over? I really hope not, If so, then you absolutely MUST make a sequel of some sort! i will go on a hunger strike if you don't :ugeek: (Must have fox and allegra)

Also, i know you probably have had to repeat your update schedule a LOT, but could you tell me what it is? Thanks!

One last thing, when first hearing about Fox and Allegra, did anyone else think of the song Accidentally in love by the counting crows? Cause that totally represents them really well

I love how it's Bino commenting on me story! awesome!

As for the ending I only have one major event of Bino's doing then the aftermath and finally the wrap up! So not really sure how long that's gunna take so can't really say if it's almost over or not.

Also, I'll leave it open for a continuation but haven't decided on if I''ll continue it yet

Schedule alternates between Monday and Friday one week then just wednesday the next, averages out to about every four days (I think?)

That should be all questions yes?

Yup I'm satisfied! You're a great writer CJ, please continue it in some way (I'm sure you'll think of something, you're the creative one [Hint follegra baby?] IDK your story ;)

Anyways, the name is indeed always amusing..... especially since i ship grapenut!

Also, topics for discussion below, I've been wondering about these myself....

Now that the dogs have become more accepting, is Fido back with the K9 Unit?
What has become of Joey and Panini? (long distance relationship)?
Since Bino is planning on using the picture of Peanut, do you think Max is gonna be in deep trouble with Grape?

If I'm allowed to give an answer to one of your questions, then no, Fido is unlikely to be back into the the ranks of the ungrateful former colleagues, for now. If the contrary, it would've been mentioned, meguesses.

Of course you can respond to them valerio! None of them have definate answers...yet!

I would have to disagree though, i would think that since it didn't have any relation to the theme of the previous update, it probably wouldn't have been mentioned for a reason... But since most of the other dogs have come to their senses (presumably ralph is among them) i would think he would have his job back (he's gonna need it cuz of the baby).

Hopefully the whole pregnant thing won't rock the boat too much y'know?

Now that his big reveal with Bino was over, Fox was actually more nervous with what was to come. Bino rejecting him for it was going to be fine but he needed Peanut and the others to accept him into the group, despite all he had done and the way he acted since everything began. Fox had to take a deep breath to relax himself, so far the only thing keeping him there was Allegra’s comforting presence, and her tail snuggly wrapped around him.

Allegra was just happy to be with Fox as they made their way to pick up Zach. Though Fox had been very romantic and spoiled her with gifts to make up for their secrecy, she was more looking forward to having a real date, and now they may have one soon enough. She was purring slightly as she leaned her head on his shoulder, “you nervous still Fox?”

With the way she was smiling up at him Fox could help but smile too, “honestly yeah… Bino is one thing, but everyone else is another.”

Allegra just smiled as she cuddled closer to the husky, “what can they complain about? If it weren’t for you Bino probably would have gotten away with a lot more and we may not be as close to finishing as we are now.”

“True I suppose...,” Thinking about it Fox did feel a little better, but he still couldn’t help but be a little worried.

As the two approached his house Zach was already waiting outside, slightly surprised to see both of them coming for him rather than one or the other, “what’s the occasion? I feel kind of special now with a double escort.” He laughed a bit as he joined them on their way to the club.

Fox flashed him a small smile, “finally decided I’m done sneaking around to be with my kitten,” he was smiling down at Allegra as he said the last part.

“Hey!” Allegra gave him a light stare, “that’s not funny pup!”

Zach was laughing as he watched the two, “I think he was just trying to be romantic, like you always tell me he is.”

Allegra was still smiling as she glared at Fox again, “I know, but kitten wasn’t on the agreed pet name list. He’s just doing it to irk me.”

Fox just grinned, “But I’m the romantic one, would I do that?” his grin grew a bit bigger as he kissed the top of her head, “besides you still love me anyways.”

“Smooth Fox, very smooth.” Zach just shook his head as he watched the two. Honestly he had to admire it; it wasn’t common to find two like them.

The light-hearted atmosphere had Fox a lot calmer now than he was not too long ago, he took a deep breath as the group came into sight, “ready to break the news once again my sweet?” He was grinning again as he held her close.

“Yes I am, and better hun!” She gave him slight push as they neared the club.

Fox’s ears were flat against his head as they approached the group, looking around all eyes were on him and some murmuring could be heard from most of them. In as hushed a voice as he could he whispered in Allegra’s ear, “You sure they’ll be ok with me here?”

“Positive, but if you want to leave no reason to doubt I’ll be more than happy to oblige,” she gave him a small wink as they neared Peanut and Tarot, “hey Peanut! What’s the plan for today?”

Peanut was as confused as everyone else there, but as he registered her question his tail started wagging, “painting! It’s like art so it should be fun!” Peanut already had a brush in hand, “but we have to put down paper inside so we don’t make a mess.”

Alex was standing near the back, stunned that nobody was questioning Fox’s presence there, “Is nobody going to say something?” All eyes immediately went to him, “he’s worked with Bino against us from the start and nobody will question why he is here?”

Fox was caught off guard with the comments from the back, but before he could respond Allegra kissed him full on. As he registered what was happening he just wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, finally as they broke their embrace he looked back to the crowd, “any other questions?”

Everyone in the crowd was stunned, some even started to cheer, but Alex was still unamused, “I’ve been trying to tell them about you two from the start, who’s to say that you’re still not here working for Bino?”

Allegra was now severely glaring at the dog, “how about that fact that he has actually been helping us all along? How do you think we’ve been able to stop Bino’s plans as much as we have? I’ll be the first to say it’s unlikely to be that lucky.”

Alex just had his arms crossed, “call me skeptical but I still don’t trust him, can anyone prove this or is it just you saying it?”

Fox was severely getting aggravated with this dog, “Enough already, accept me or not but I’m here to help. If you want your proof go talk to Fido.”

“I’ll do it,” the third voice caught everyone off guard as they looked around for the source, Sergeant Ralph was standing away from the group as he held a small mouse in his hands, “I came to drop off Spo, but since Fido isn’t here I’ll go drop him off at his house, I need to talk him about something anyhow.”

Alex just shrugged, “fine, I can live with that.”

With that Ralph left them to their work and started off for Fido’s house, being a police dog he walked faster than most so he was there in no time. Spo was as excited as ever as Ralph knocked on the door, “Fido you in there?”

Fido was a little surprised as he opened the door; he was actually just about to leave to go get Spo, “hey Ralph, what are you doing here?”

“What about me?” Spo had his hands on his waist, “how can you not say hi to me?”

Fido just smiled to the mouse as he put him on his head, “hello to you too Spo,” as he looked back to Ralph he was still confused as to why he was there, “thank you for dropping him off, but I was about to head over there in a little bit.”

Ralph gave him a small smile, “I needed to talk to you about something so I came to drop him off, and apparently your new club needs a disagreement settled that only you can solve.”

Fido’s eyes widened, “Why? What happened?” his mind was attempting to race through all the possibilities.

“Fox showed up with his new girlfriend, a cat surprisingly, and someone wasn’t too happy about it so in order to trust Fox he wanted to know if he helped you with what Bino was planning.” Although he wasn’t showing Ralph was also curious to know, he wouldn’t have ever pegged Fox as a cat lover let along to help out other cat lovers.

Fido just raised an eyebrow, “is that all?” he let out a sigh as Ralph nodded, “yeah Fox has been helping us all along, how else would we have been able to keep up with Bino?”

“Alright good to know, I’ll go settle their disagreement as soon as possible,” Ralph was looking behind Fido for any signs of Sabrina, “is your girlfriend here? I kind of wanted to apologize for what happened on Christmas.”

Almost on cue Sabrina appeared just behind Fido, “hello,” she just smiled at the dog.

“Hello, again I wanted to apologize for everything that happened at the Christmas party, we didn’t exactly act professional as we should have so I wanted to offer Fido his job back.”

Both Fido and Sabrina were surprised, “Really?” Sabrina was expecting Fido to accept immediately but instead he stayed quiet for a while until she started to nudge him, “what do you think Fido?”

Fido looked to her and back to Ralph, “I can’t, at least not right now.” He gave Ralph a smile, “I have something I need to take care of for a while right now, maybe another time?”

Ralph just smiled again as he pat Fido on the head, “Alright, the spot will remain open if you ever change your mind alright?” With that the sergeant turned to leave.

Sabrina was slightly confused as to why he refused, “I thought you loved working with the police Fido.”

As he snuggled close to her he kissed her cheek, “I do, but I love you more and family will be more important right now.”

Sabrina was satisfied enough with that answer and just nuzzled back into him, “I love you too Fido.”

I'd like to note I didn't respond to the questions earlier, because one was going to be answered in this update (obviously) and the others will be soon enough! As I say, stay tuned ya'll! As for the one answered I took the family first approach, it seemed like the right way to go. He'll take his job back eventually, but family comes first! As it should!

Fido needs to hurry up and tell everyone, he should've learned something by now....

And ultimately I don't see how the fact that Sabrina being pregnant will bring about the end of the new club. After all they have all decided to accept the new social change and allow cat-dog relationships. What would they think would happen by doing that

I take it to mean that Bino's going to try and hurt Sabrina so badly that she miscarries, or the baby is stillborn. I guess that it could maybe break the spirit of the club by seeing their flagship couple so distraught; and then, Bino would rally the other dogs that are still loyal to him and make some sort of public protest about how Interspecies Relationships will never be accepted. This would probably have the effect of demoralizing the club to the point that all but maybe a few pets would give up on changing something that's so set in stone.

...yeah, that's depressing.

chance of such a scenario = 0% IMO
I mean, man! CJ was always careful to balance fun and drama, and the only defect I saw in his production so far is that he rushed a situation here and there, but I couldn't really imagine such a bleak picture!

Yeah, nothing bad will happen to Sabrina. Bino is smart enough to know that harming her in any way would do more damage than good to his cause so she is out of the question, the guys however are fair game. As Valerio said though whatever Bino does do will balance out for the good in the end.

As for what can come from the child, I'd say it more of the fear of the unknown factor, it'll be the first of it's kind that is a mix from two different species. Accepting interspecies relationships is one thing, but this would be entirely new so nobody would really know how to handle it.

As everyone was getting ready to begin their painting Peanut had them all split into two groups, those who will paint the inside and those who will start on the outside. Peanut still had his brush in hand as his tail was wagging like crazy, “Ok so I want to start inside, those who are coming with me let’s get started! King will be in charge of everyone outside.” With that he turned and headed inside followed by a majority of the group.

King immediately took the initiative and got everyone started; his group was significantly smaller than Peanut’s, but he still planned to have most of the first coat done by the end of the day. As the ladders were being brought out he was having minor flash backs to the last time he climbed a ladder, as he looked to Sasha he gave her a slight smile, “you won’t let go this time right?”

Sasha just giggled a bit, “I promise!” She gave him a small kiss as he started up the ladder.

Fox, Allegra, and Zach started setting up a short distance from King and Sasha. As they started working Fox was curious as to why King was left in charge, he knew Fido wasn’t around today but normally the next in line was Joey, and as he thought about it he wasn’t anywhere to be seen since they got there, “hey King, where’s Joey?”

King wobbled a little bit as he attention went from the painting to the husky a few feet away, “you can hurt somebody by distracting them like that you know!” As he looked down Sasha was still smiling up at him her tail swaying slightly, shaking his head he looked back to Fox, “he left this morning to some farm, apparently after two months of begging his parents finally took him. He should be back in a week or so.” As the day continued on they were steadily finishing the wall with small conversations going on between them all, King continued to wobble every time his attention was taken off the wall. As he finished his last spot he started to climb down the ladder, finally reaching the floor he let out a sigh as he looked up to the husky, “You’re lucky I didn’t fall off with you distracting me all the time!”

Fox just laughed a bit as he remembered the Christmas incident, “no worries King, I knew you’d be ok! It's not the holidays!”

Allegra looked up confused, “what is he always accident prone on the holidays?”

Fox had to get down before he fell from laughing too much, “oh yeah! You can just about guarantee and accident for him around the holidays!”

“Hey!” King was unamused with that comment, “The Christmas one wasn’t my fault!”

Sasha picked him up from behind and gave him a big hug, “I said I was sorry!”

King just smiled and kissed her cheek, “I know, it was just an accident! As he dipped his brush into the bucket he was eying Fox, “beside, I’d say he’s wrong!” With that he flicked as much paint at Fox as he could.

As the white blob hit the husky Allegra took her brush and was quick to send paint back at the Corgi, “don’t start something you can’t win little guy!”

Soon the four of them were hurling blobs of paint back and forth as Zach took cover behind a bush, it didn’t take long for them to tire out and when they finally stopped they were all covered in paint and laughing. King was the first to stand up, as he looked around he was still smiling as he shook his head, “well we just wasted some good paint, and now we need to get clean before it dries.”

As the group nodded Zach came out of the bushes with a water hose, “I can help you with that, just hold still,” Everyone shut their eyes just as the spray of water hit them, and after a few minutes they were finally clean. Zach just shook his head as he watched them drip, “were you all planning on getting back to work today after that?”

Looking up at the wall King let out a satisfied sigh, the first coat of paint was just about done, “I think we are good for the day, I’ll go check on the others but you all can head home if you want.”

The trio just nodded and waved good bye as they started back for Zach’s house, Zach was the only one dry as the other two continued to drip all along the way. As they finally reached his house Zach refrained from hugging them good bye and just waved to them as he headed inside.

Allegra snuggled close to Fox as they turned to leave, she was purring slightly as she looked up to him, “you’re wet.”

Fox grinned as he kissed her forehead, “so are you.” As he wrapped an arm around her he looked up to the sky, “it’s still rather early, is there anywhere you want to go?”

Allegra had to think about it for a second, “let’s go see Fido and Sabrina, I want to know some good places for dates.”

“Alright fair enough,” Fox held her close as they made their way to their destination, and after a few minutes they were standing outside the door.

As soon as he heard the door knocking Fido was up and opened the door, he was slightly surprised at what he saw, “you are aware that you are dripping all over the place right?”

“Yeah, it’s quite the story too,” Both Fox and Allegra were smiling as they stood at the door, “you have towels so we can dry?”

As Fido left to get towels Sabrina came to the door, “hello!” She was smiling brightly as she looked at the two, “seems like you two had a good day.”

Fido soon came back towels in hand and after a good rub down Fox and Allegra were fully dried off and welcomed inside, “yeah we were at the club house painting with King and things got a little messy.”

Sabrina’s ears perked up as she listened to the two, “wait you were there together? Does that mean everyone knows about you two now?” Her smile grew as they nodded, “so any big plans then now that you can be in public?”

Allegra immediately jumped in, “that’s actually why we’re here, do you happen to know any good places for dates?”

Sabrina just nodded as she nuzzled into Fido, “personally we enjoyed a simple picnic in the park.”

Allegra’s smile grew as big as ever, “that’s perfect! I’d love to have a picnic! Oh and we can do a double date!” Her tail was swaying happily and she leaned onto Fox.

As their conversation continued, Allegra finally notices the bulge in Sabrina’s stomach, “I don’t want to be rude but how much does Fido spoil you Sabrina? All the sweets may be starting to show.” She was giggling slightly as she looked at the two.

As Sabrina looked to Fido he was visibly worried but as she smiled at him she knew they’d have to tell everyone eventually, “Actually… it’s not because of sweets…”

Fox’s eyes shot open as he realized what she was saying, “wait? You’re not saying what I think you’re saying right?”

Fido just took a deep breath as he looked to Fox, “yeah…”

Before Fox could reply Allegra beat him to it, “congratulations you two!” She had a big smile on as she looked at them both, “why didn’t you say something sooner?”

“Thank you,” Sabrina just nodded as she looked back to Fido, “I was actually thinking we should tell everyone soon, we’re just not sure how they’d all react.”

Allegra cuddled closer to Fox, “I’m sure everyone would be supportive! This is big news! You should tell everyone as soon as possible!”

The way she was smiling made Sabrina laugh a bit, “What do you think Fido?”

Fido wasn’t really sure about it, but they would have to do it eventually, “the sooner the better I suppose…”

“Are you excited to be parents?” Allegra’s tail wrapped itself around Fox, “Do you have a name planned already? Will it be a boy or girl?”

Sabrina was caught by surprise at the rapid fire questions, and tried her best to keep up, “Yes, we do look forward to it. She will be a girl and the name we have chosen is Trinity.”

As soon as Allegra got all the answers she wanted she leaned over on Fox and blushed a bit, “hey maybe we can start a family sometime too!”

The way she was giggling Fox wasn’t sure if she was joking or not, “like your mom seems to expect us to?” He laughed a bit as he thought about it, “Maybe we should get through our first public date first right?”

Allegra just nodded and giggled more, “right.”

I've gotta commend you though CJ, those mistakes used to be much more abundant. You're grammar usage has gotten dramatically better since when you began this fanfic, and now issues like that are much less commen

Aww, Fox is going to have a family! Allegra must have baby on the brain!

Peanut really is a good leader. Almost like a second Fido. He loves it too.

Great update, Chris. Can't wait for the next one! :D

I dunno, to me it seems like he was rather nervous about the whole concept.... Future drama?

Also, only one of my original questions left to answer, but here's a new one only CJ can answer: Out of the dogs still in the Good 'Ol Dogs Club, are any of them characters with names (other than Bino, of course) or are they all just nameless minor characters?
