Well, some good news. Figured out how to extract the outlines quickly from comics.

Bad news, the method ended up using hard aliasing, so none of the smooth lineworks. Also, at first testing, works best when Rick lined the comic traditionally, but in the middle of the Temple Crashers 2 arc, he switched to all digital. The method doesn't seem to work that well with that. Tried it on a much more recent comic, and hardly any lines were useable.

Well, I'll give this method out as much as I can. At least until I finally finish the Forum Crashers arc.

I'm sure that you will figure out a way to make it work. We are all counting on you!

Besides, without your edits, how else will be able to enjoy Cobra's stupidity? XD

Antialiasing really is the worst. In the past I've tried so many different techniques of fixing up edges but none work all the time.

In GIMP 2.8, my current method (that I used in my signature art and in an edit of trekkie's avatar) is to manually separate the crop from the background with an eraser, create a path of the shape, delete a few pixels off the edge, then stroke the path in a lower layer with a black paintbrush.
A drawback of this method is that the edge ends up being quite heavy (any thinner and the antialiasing breaks down). Also, this method needs a source image with a thick edge to serve as "padding," so it doesn't work well with Rick's recent thin-line style.

Recently I experimented with a method that uses "color to alpha" to make the background color transparent while leaving the black edge intact, fully antialiased. It works well in simple backgrounds, much less so in complex ones.

Definitely...not...how I would have worded that. :?

Anyway, found a new method that seems to be working, complete with keeping much of the original anti-aliasing. Just doesn't get rid of all of the original color, but managed. I'll see where this takes me.

I'm pretty sure you mean 'antics' =P

I liked D-Rock's edits myself. Just that one time someone turned me into a buff Ptah flirting with Grape is when it got awkward. Please don't do that. x3

How bout a buff res trying to romance a demon of apathy to death?
Gimmie a few more weeks and my new tablet will be here. Edits from this end will be much easier then.

To quote Scar:

"No! No! Anything but that!"

... Though it would make sense for me to be Res. Ack.

Whoever initially put you over Res I thought had something good going, Cobra. But I had already made you over Max, and wanted to get as many as I could on that initial team. Frankly, I think it's because Stu's style translates almost perfectly to Res.

anyway, here's the first new strip in quite a long time, and seems this method worked rather well.

Before anyone asks, the reason Rocky isn't wearing his glasses here if because I didn't feel like drawing them and I prefer to avoid wearing my glasses when I fall asleep.

Going to be honest, I ran into a potential issue when I was grabbing resources. I have no one to change with Squeak, so I'll have to figure something out in regards to removing her. Will at least cull out a lot of panels.
