Housepets! Animated Series! (Except it's Minecraft Style :P)

Hello! I’m Hagus, and I’m trying to put together a team for a Housepets Animation Series. It will be minecraft style animation, but I say animation is better than no animation

Anyway, this is a casting call! Anyone who wants to try their hand at voicing a character, hit me up in DMs or on Discord! My Discord is Hagus#4702. I will ask you to record a clip of yourself speaking, and then send it to me, whether it’s you saying lines from the comic, or just you talking, it doesn’t matter to me. As long as I get an idea of what you sound like. Again, I am open to anyone to try, and please don’t feel upset if I don’t pick you for a specific character, I may think you sound better as someone else. You do not need to have read or really even know what Housepets is to try out.

The characters we WILL need for the first 2 planned animations are:
Peanut
Grape
Mrs. Sandwich
Bino
Fox
Joey
Rex

Note: You can still try out for other characters, these are our #1 priority right now though

We also could use builders and skin makers, if that’s more up your alley!

Also I am animating along with 2 others so hopefully the production won't be super slow

I'll probably post updates here as well as various other places on Discord. Right now we're just trying to get the voices set, we also have models for Peanut and Grape. The hardest part is probably gonna be finding a Grape voice though

I would help but I am really self-conscious about my voice which is why I don't do any voice chats.

Since Grape is sort of Tomboy-ish anyways, you could have a male VA with a high enough pitch, good enough quality mic, and medium to heavy audio doctoring. Of course, this would be a much more arduous process than to just find a female voice actor, but just if you had to.

I am pretty sure that whatever turns up in terms of a voice is what Hagus will be able to utilize in the series.

That was actually a very adorable animation there and the dramatic narrator voice adds a really nice touch in my opinion! I hope that we will see more in the future!

So I decided that doing only existing Housepets arcs may be a bit boring for you guys (a bit maybe not though) but I think I'm gonna throw in a lot of my own original stories because I think that would be fun!

I’m leaning towards original work, but up to you. As for theme, either get one made, or see about the pretty old Housepets theme song? It was sung by an old member, can’t recall his name. Something like Buckida?

I mean I have auditions from some of the voice actors but I don't have a showcase yet. Hopefully we'll get one put together though!

I'm not exactly sure how many more of these tests I'm going to do tbh xD
I have been working really hard the last 2 weeks trying to get everything together to try and make a little intro or pilot episode. The voice actors are coming together, and I have someone writing a little tune for the first official video! So hopefully at some point the first video will come out. Being the only animator, writer, and lighting person, it will take some time to actually get the episodes done and out but I hope you guys can understand

Well, I'm still rather new here, but I've done my research. As far as I am aware, you are the first one to get this close with an animated series for Housepets. I could be wrong, but I've not found any videos, only attempts.

It's Sungwon Cho. He's a voice actor. He's posted plenty of videos and numerous comedic shorts on his youtube channel and twitter under the handle, ProZD. The man has a very wide range of voices, but I don't know how he did the high pitched voice, if it was natural or post edit. He did get Veronica Taylor, the original voice of Ash Ketchum from Pokémon, to provide a dub voice for a Pokémon sketch.

With that today I learned that the voice actor that provides the dubbed voice for Ash in Pokemon is a female.

Just a quick question, does anyone here have experience with building in Minecraft? I'm really bad at it, and it would help to have someone half-decent at building, since we need to build the sets to use.in the animation (we need mainly the GODC clubhouse and the Sandwich household for now). Also about half of the pilot episode was written yesterday, so once that's finished we can get the lines recorded!
