Welcome to Cenozoic Bay
Halfway between Midway Atoll and Adok Alaska are Cenozoic Bay. A small Volcanic Archipelago, the Isles are unclaimed and were never touched by humans until the 1970s when small military action took place between the USSR and USA on the Isles soil. The Isles at the time were only called Borba, a Russian word for fighting, as a shorthand for the conflict in the area. The Islands were purchased in 1980 by a private research company, just two years after military action on the island ceased. Over the last three decades the island has changed hands, at least officially, between 5 different shell companies.

First considered to be a possibility for weapons research, the original company that owned the island was Biogen, which 'sold' the island to their subsidiary Germtec in 84. By 87, it passed back up the chain to another subsidiary, Genlabs, which was more favored at the time. In 95 the island changed hands again, now supposedly a simple remote research facility but mostly known as a place not covered by government laws concerning research, to a company known as Homosearch which had bilaterally merged with the company. Finally, in the year Y2K the island was sold to a supposedly new company that was formed mostly out of researchers that had once worked on the island, from several of the supposedly separate former companies. This company was known as Lazarus Applied Genetics Research, or LazSearch.
Lazarus Estate Group
Two years ago, the Lazarus Estate Group got ahold of the Islands and officially renamed them to the Lazarus Islands. Cenozoic Bay is the main entrance of the islands, located on the south of the islands. The corresponding neighborhood/resort is situated between three rivers within the nicest part of the bay. The Lazarus islands include several other settlements, those on the mainland easily accessible by monorail and those on the other islands accessible by boat. The Isles are considered perfect for their current mission statement due to their varied environments, going from desert areas to tropical arias, from mountains to tundra, all in one small archipelago.
The Mission
The intention of Lazarus Applied Genetics Research quickly becomes obvious once one arrives, it is to revive the dead. The Isles are a testing ground for Lazsearch's proprietary technology, partially aided by CRISPR technology, which is used to re-build DNA using intentional mutation, genetic regression, and active samples of the least degraded possibility. While it is impossible to find fully preserved proteins from anywhere beyond a Million years, their proprietary software uses the data from small fragments, structural analysis of any remains, and living descendants dna to create the revived creature.

Locations
There are many communities in the islands, most of which have an intention.
Cenozoic Bay Town: Located between two river deltas, Cenozoic Baytown is the most structured of communities in the islands. Separated into neighborhoods and the central business area, Cenozoic Bay is almost entirely like any other city in the world. It seems to be a resort town, if it weren’t for the extinct critters wandering around.
San Rafael Springs: The springs is the second most populated community in the islands, located to the far east in the largest desert. Named after the San Rafeael Swell, one of many important Bone Beds in Utah, the Springs are modeled after midwestern and western towns. Along with housing all most critters used to the desert, the Springs also include an actual natural hot spring and a casino.
Bethany: Bethany is the sight of the corporate headquarters of Lazarus Applied Genetics Research. Located in the southern peninsula Bethany is not a location for Research. Although the occasional experiment ends up in the area, and there is a small local community for the corporate higher ups of the company, Bethany is mainly the location of the Headquarters and nothing else.
Paleozoic Park: Named park almost exclusively for the alliteration, Paleozoic Park is on the vary west side of the mainland. Right across the water from Mesozoic Park both are colloquially known as just "The Parks". Paleozoic park is usually ignored by new-commers in favor of the prehistoric might of the dinosaurs. But, due to the incredible variability of life during the Paleozoic Era, it is the most scientifically advanced of all the Communities
Mesozoic Park: Mesozoic, the name of the age of dinosaurs, was the age of the world’s largest land-bound mega-fauna. Due to the massiveness of the creatures of the Mesozoic, the entire western island was dedicated to a community/conservationist park/safari for dinosaurs. All houses are built incredibly large and sparse, and are located on the eastern tip of the island. The rest of the island is wild-land for experiments who do not wish to be tamed to roam. (Megafauna not used to cold weather should be located here.)
Pleistocene Town: Located on the south North Island it's the farthest north community, as well as the farthest from Cenozoic Bay. Named after the last era of repeated Glaciation, the intention of Pleistocene Town is to replicate conditions for Ice Age and other cold weather creatures. (This area is for cold weather creatures. Mamoths in particular, as well as other Ice Age creatures.)
