xhunterko: You are a good writer, from what I've seen, at least. Writing, like any other skill, takes time and practise to master. it can be difficult at times to express ourselves through the written word because we lose a lot of the visual and non-verbal clues which we'd otherwise get. If you're struggling to get ideas from your head onto the page, all I can suggest is write, write, write and then edit and delete as necessary. Even if it looks like carp at first, stick with it and you'll get there eventually. If its expressing the intentions behind your characters' dialogues that you're struggling with then I'd suggest writing a few lines of the characters' thoughts beside the dialogue for people to read, or perhaps using adverbs or synonyms for 'said' rather than using just 'said' by itself. Feel free to PM me if there's anything I can do to help you. ;)

Hotep:
If this is to be a roleplay (admittedly, that would be cool) then please write up a proposal and submit it to the mods. We do have a proper process for creating new RPs, as I'm sure you're aware. Otherwise, the Media Median would be the place for stories if you don't think they fit the Fan Projects section. ;)

Guys just a head up I most likely won't be on from the 21st to I think two weeks later. So during that time someone can control my characters if needed.

Thanks for the heads up, Hyper! I'm sure we'll manage. ;) Stay safe!

I've been playing Jade Empire lately and I just read the Avatar:The Last Airbender comics. So my question is, would anyone be interested in an Avatar the Last Airbender RP? I'm just gauging interest.

Though from my recollection there weren't really many animals in the show (of the domestic variety at least).
Unless you plan to have the inhabitants be anthropomorphized. Which would be cool too :D

That's an option if humans aren't allowed. Although I didn't see a rule saying that humans are prohibited. But it's very possible I missed it. Someone please tell me if I did.

I think it's the general consensus that we play as animals but there's certainly no rule saying you can't RP as humans so if you really want to then there's no reason why you can't.

We do prefer you submit a proposal for approval for the RP before gauging interest though so if you could send one off to one of us mods then that'd be great. ;)

Korack: Welcome back!

Well it definitely wouldn't be a Pet Friendly neighborhood if we play as humans, but I suppose it would be fine.

Though there are some pets in Avatar like Pabu or Momo

The Avatar:The Last Airbender RP has been approved! It will be a SRP set three years after the show ended. The Avatar is off dealing with problems in the east, but that doesn't mean there aren't problems here. Anyone interested?

Just a heads up. I will be going on vacation from July 8th til the 24th. I will PROBABLY not be able to post. I will take care of my characters in my various role plays. I also have something in mind for my SRP: Snow Tunnels. I figured I'd post this in advance so I don't forget to do it later. Just lettin' you all know what's up.

So I'm supposed to put this here, criticize constructively please? Thanks.

Character Name: Yukon

Color:This one?

Type: Main

Species/Breed: Dog / Norwegian Elkhound

Age: 20 dog years(5.71 human years)

Neighbourhood: Richardson Valley

Appearance: His main fur color is a mixture of black and gray with a stripe of lighter grey running from shoulder to shoulder across his back. His collar is leather with his name and home address engraved into it, as well as a stamped picture of the town he used to visit with his owner. The tag hanging below it isn't an actual tag but a, now nonfunctional tracking device. In the summer he wears a silver pair of aviator sunglasses and a scarf during the winter that has mixed grey, black and white stitching.

Personality: Yukon is fairly happy-go-lucky and adventurous, but never forgets to be at least a little cautious in what he does due to his lifestyle up north. He isn't necessarily the best at making friends but he's definitely not the worst. His favorite thing to do is mostly just explore or hang out with friends. He is loyal to people he knows and will sometimes put himself in harm's way to help someone out.

Other notes: Hailing from a land up north, he and his owner lived an adventurous lifestyle. He was adopted when he was about a half year old(human years). His owner treated him like family from day one and would bring him along on the long journey into town, this helped him become friendly. When he moved down south with his owner, neither brought many belongings, mostly just some photos and a backpack full of some toys, equipment and some food for the trip. The only major things that they brought were a couch and a bookshelf. As such, their house is rather empty except for basic cooking items. His collar is fairly new, a keepsake given to him by the man who taught him to work on leather. He and his owner moved down south to settle down a bit. His owner now works as a site manager for a construction company however and is frequently gone from home for extended periods of time, leaving Yukon at home alone, but he sends some money every week for him to go buy food. This doesn't bother him much, he's used to being separated for long periods.

S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats:

- Strength: 6

- Perception: 6

- Endurance: 8

- Charisma: 5

- Intelligence: 6

- Agility: 7

- Luck: 4

Well, ain't I just the stupidest gm? I just found out there was a new main ooc.

@69eist: If you want to come back to AC, I really liked having you there, so feel free to re-join any time.

@Deske: Your character sounds awesome! I suggest Richmond Acres, Richardson Valley, or Sunset Plateau :3

Really late to complain but Why not just put "RP Main OOC Thread" instead of the long name we have now?

About how far back should I read through these roleplays so I don't feel weird joining in the middle of whatever is going on.

about........15-20 pages , depends on you I guess :P
but I think first you should ask in the OOC thread of the RP you want to join , see if they still have room and if the GM of that RP would approve your character and all that ^^

it isn't even a requirement to read anything before posting if you're character's been approved, it just helps you get your character to a place where they can interact with others.

so you really only need to know where everyone is.

I went about three pages back with my RP. though I think ultimately I went back a bit more and read a years worth of info. It helped a bit. you can also ask whatever GM you join with and they should be okay with helping.

Also a years worth of posts is a lot. You might not need that much.
Also Brent is right.

Well Furrhan might bare his teeth but he is harmless.

Furrhan is me, by the way. Furrhan is the name of my fursona. ;)
Crimson is right though. I don't bite. Often. Or hard. And I'm definitely not rabid. :P

Welcome to the RP section! I think your character looks great! All the places Neon suggested would suit him. He might also fit in Applegate or BPS. Just find one you like and post in the OOC of that RP to ask for permission to join. ;)

Neon: Nah, you just weren't paying attention, is all. ;) The old one is in the dead thread bed. You should still be able to edit your character sheets in there and link to them though, even though you can't post any new posts there any more.
As to the title, I wanted to avoid using acronyms at first just for the benefit of newcomers who might not know their way around just yet. But thanks for the suggestion and don't hesitate to ask if you;ve any other feedback or ideas for improvement. It's never too late!

Sorry I've been gone the past few days, but having fourth of July in a beach town is super dangerous and we had many things to deal with because of this. Thankfully, everything's fine now.
