Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
That decides it then. It won't just be one, it'll be ALL of the RPs that get changed to MLP. All users who resist will be turned into cheese.
I will also be taking over Hal's profile and changing it into another profile for me, JeffDvt. This shall also be followed by JeffEvt and JeffWvt. All of which shall have different mod powers and personalities.
Also, to ensure that all RPs are as successful as can be, we will be requiring all participants to show proof of their literary abilities via Diplomas in English writing and storytelling. Those without them will not be accepted.
Trust me, my one and only concern in for the success of the RP section in the future, which is why I will be changing everything that has worked just fine since it was created. You know what they say, if it works, change it around until it's so different that no one will recognize it!

If your really serious in that last post then wheres the fun in character creation, imaginative story creation and development via user posting when limiting to those specifics and utilizing only one species character?
I will admit im a brony but this seems too much if your changing everything to be this way.

I'm taking a leave from the forums. I lost my interest in RPing for now.

Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
I'm surprised I actually have to say this, but everything about Roo leaving was an April Fool's joke. Jeff even went to ridiculous lengths to have you guys stop believing it. He was supposed to reveal it at midnight Eastern but apparently he has a life outside the forums.
so to be clear:
Roo is not leaving, nothing is changing, everything will be alright
you can all go about your normal roleplaying and I hope none of you left.
(but come on, you think we'd let Jeff single handedly destroy the RP section? I'd hope you'd trust us, specifically me, more than that)

When the name changed back to blue...
As much as I don't like this annual holiday I am relieved to hear the news! It did admittedly become less and less plausible as Jeff continued on about the changes in the forum(my favorite was,
But it still held a surreal possibility that it all might be true (at least from my perspective), and being fooled is way better than thinking someone else is lying when they aren't >w<
My sentiment still holds true though and I'm sure the others do too! I suppose we can all look at it as a reminder of what we think and how integral Roo and Brent and all the other mods are to holding this ship (or forum) together! And it wouldn't be the same without any of you guys.
Hears to everyone staying.
We love you guys, don't scare us half to death ever again plz /)w(\

I must say that this small portion of the thread is a testament to the fact that text cannot convey sly sarcasm or jokiness. And it also shows I need more sleep as I only became suspicious once Jeff started talking about his plans. Darn it english language people, you should have listened to the guy who suggested sarcasm quotation mark thingys!

and for the record it was Roo's idea to "step down", Diss's to actually change his name color, and Jeff's to be the replacement mod. all the things Jeff was going to do were a collaborative idea of Jeff and Roo.
but the hostile takeover of BPS was all my idea

APRIL FOOLS, EVERYONE!!!
Sorry to have freaked you all out but thank you all so much for playing along and for the touching farewell messages you wrote! I didn't know you cared for me so much so it really means a lot to read them!
I'm definitely not going anywhere and I'm definitely still your mod and GM and GM Liaison and Jeff will certainly not be ponifying any RPs or giving official warnings any time soon!
As Brent said, this was my idea but Jeff and Diss played along and improved it. I promise I won't let them turn me evil again and I'll definitely no scare you like that again either!

With you leaving I was about to take over as mod brent.
I would be worse than jeff I am sure.
I will honestly say I did believe it for a while. then the fact that roo said he would give up his characters and have them changed, made me suspicious. I even grilled Render for a bit trying to pry the truth out

Did you guys REALLY think Brent, Hal, Esper, or Diss would let me destroy the RP section like that? If I was actually serious about making most of those changes, I would have been thrown out faster than you guys could say "what?"Roarin wrote:It did admittedly become less and less plausible as Jeff continued on about the changes in the forum
For future notice, if, for some strange reason, I (Or any other mods) was to ever be considered for a mod position here, there would have been a poll to see if you all approved of the change. This forum has always operated on seeing if the general users approve of staff changes.

We read "...turned into cheese." and knew something wasn't right. Also, turn all his characters into ponies? Not even sure that would turn out right! Mickey would have to rework Delilah's crush on Jake if that happened.
I don't even like cheese! Also, speaking of Delilah.

Actually, we did react. He wasn't the only one that mentioned leaving so we thought it best to pull the plug on the joke before anyone did anything drastic. I've been talking to 69 on Skype too and for the moment he's sticking around although he is working through a few things.MrNeonShot wrote:I'm having a hard time believing anything said yesterday, though I am worried that Geist was serious. No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
Character Name: Bowser
Color: Dark Blue
Type: Main
Species/Breed: Dog, Belgian Malinois
Age: 14 / 50
Neighbourhood: ??????
Appearance:
Bowser is tall for a dog and still retains the physique and strength of the K-9 officer he used to be. His head, shoulders feet and back are jet black, with flecks of gray on his chin, the sides of his muzzle, his chest, and his hands. Varying shades of brown fill in the rest being the darkest near his shoulders sides and ankles. Bowser looks significantly older than he actually is due to almost ten straight years of exposure while tracking chemical contraband.
Personality:
True to his breed he's initially reserved, but once he knows you he has an air of confidence and experience. Instinct paired with years of training and work have left him with a tendency towards being protective of those smaller or more vulnerable than himself, and a detached analytical view of the world. He's difficult to surprise or startle and rarely shows strong emotion.
Other notes:
Bowser is a retired K-9 Contraband Detection and Seizure Officer, who left due to heart problems stemming from the 'occupational hazards' of his particular role in the unit. That combined with his age hamper his ability to move quickly or maintain a consistent pace for long periods, though he's still rather strong and his nose is as sharp as ever.
S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats:
Strength: 8
Perception: 8
Endurance: 4
Charisma: 6
Intelligence: 6
Agility: 4
Luck: 6

Re: Roleplaying Forums Main Out-Of-Character Thread
You know, he'd probably fit in well in Sunset Plateau. We have another dog that's still active as a cop there despite losing an arm. I'm sure he'd love to learn from Bowser and share stories with him. I think Bowser would fit in any of the HPU RPs though. He'd probably fit in some of the SRPs too but as I'm not as familiar with them I couldn't say for certain. Brent will know more since he watches all of them.
I kind of wonder if it might be better to make him a little anosmic (i.e. losing his sense of smell) if he's been tracking volatile chemicals by scent, just for the realism factor. He's your character though so it's completely up to you. I do like him though. He's going to be the kind of character the other pets will look up to and respect and probably go to for advice.

There is a pet called Mario. He's a degu in Exotic Acres. Bowser wouldn't fit in that neighbourhood though, sadly, because he's not an exotic pet.serence ice fox wrote:aw , you should've made him a spike turtle or something !
