I has a sad...

Post by DigiManiac »

Just found out that my wife's grandfather passed away last night. Needless to say, we've both been in a really bum mood here. I only met him a couple of times, but he meant the world to my girl. Still, life must go on. Just felt the need to get it off my chest. Thanks for listening (i.e. reading).

Your behavior for the past two months. and the redundant vowels in "yooouuuu".

On a more serious, on-topic note, it can definitely be tough to lose a loved one, as we all know. However, I think it's really awesome how you're standing by your wife during this time. I know that's the expected behvior, but it's still really cool to see.

My condolences, Digi. I know how you feel. Both of my grandparents on my father's side of the family passed away. Just cherish any memories you had of them, and speak a bit during the memorial service if you end up going. Even if you've met them a few times...you may regret it later if you don't tell others the memories you shared. I wasn't originally planning on speaking during my grandmother's service, but I'm really glad I did.
Heh. Look at that... I started an actual Housepets! fan-fic.

I feel your situation. It's not comfortable when you see the person you love in a really sad state and the person who she's crying for you don't really know, so you wouldn't really feel sad for him as much as if your son had died for example. However life moves on, my friend, and you must find the way to make your wife as comfortable and sane as possible, regardless of how uncomfortable your life may become. Best of luck, my friend.

Again, thanks for your support everyone. *group hug*
We've visited my wife's family this weekend and the emotions
are starting to settle now. It's gone from sadness to actually
being able to focus on the good and fun memories. One day at
a time, right?

The memorial service is next week. Good for everyone to get some
closure I think. As I said, one day at a time.
