When is Grape's traumatic past going to be revealed?

It seems to allude to the possibility that Grape was abandoned sometime in her life, which I think would be a particularly fascinating read. Unless this refers to her simply being put in the pound by previous owners, in which case, that's too bad. Maybe I was just reading too far into it when it was far simpler than I had previously assumed.

I'm hoping its some crazy old lady or something, because let's face it nobody here is likely to name an animal "Princess Periwinkle" unless they really dislike the poor thing. Also think of the plot potential! So many possibilities.
