Huzza, I've read all the sonic comics, from archie to fleetway. I'm really a crazed fan of the sonic series.

I mean Archie. Not the Sonic comics made by the same people. They seem uninteresting, unfunny and horribly outdated.

I've never seen anyone actually buy an Archie comic (this coming from a guy who spent most of middle school and the first 2 years of highschool in a comic/gaming shop)
I have no idea how they're still being published

They get government funds. They're so corny it counts as a one of the nation's largest sources of produce.

I see them a lot in toilets of friends and relatives, alongside Reader's Digest and joke books.

Daaaang. That'd be ridiculous. I guess that's one way to get people to read Archie.

Guys, let's avoid that one topic. It's really controversial.

That might explain why I only have the first Housepets book... XP

Blasphemy, Housey! The second one also has AtKM, which is nice. :3

I got the Sonic comics physically when I was little, but now I read online. When I have my own place I'll start getting them in the mail, like a proper dork.

From what I understand its actually an entertaining comic. It is aware of how its a moronic and just downright stupid concept, but it KNOWS that its stupid and just has fun with it.

My mom used to get a lot of comics, but she stopped. I only buy them when I see something interesting at the nearby comic store when I'm in there killing time.

I recommend Watchmen, and V for Vendetta, not the movies so much as the comics, they have great writing, great pacing, ambiguity, and they both ask deep questions, granted, they are more adult than I feel comfortable discussing here, but still, I recomend both HIGHLY.

Or because my mom bought them for me. I like physical media! Online is cool but things are so much nicer if they're actually paper.

Also, the new DC line is sort of mixed, but overall good, its kind of strange. Some writers wren't sure if the new series was still in continuity with the old stuff, or if they start new, but I recommend Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps. Also, avoid Red Hood, although I like Arsenal (formerly known as Red Arrow) it makes no sense since he starts off as Arsenal, yet it was his daughter's death that made him become Arsenal, from being Red Arrow, also the series is just downright bad.

Clearly you all know nothing and Sandman is the best comic.
Clearly.
this is non-disputable.
nope I don't want backtalk.
shoosh.

But anyway yes The Sandman is great.
My favorite Webcomic is Gunnerkrigg Court, but some other webcomics also manage to be really good.
I used to own a small assortment of random comic books but not anymore I wonder where most of them went
one of them was a Lil' Gloomy and I think I would really appreciate that series more if I read any of it
also I like the art a lot
I mean it features characters like Carl Cthulhu, an octopoid sea monster that loves bunnies and claims that he will one day destroy all life.
How could anyone not like this comic I wonder

to finally answer THIS question:
Sleet wrote:I mean Archie. Not the Sonic comics made by the same people. They seem uninteresting, unfunny and horribly outdated.
Thats probably because they are outdated. Though they still make new storys often, much of the new magazines are just reprinted and edited copys of the older stories.
the jokes are outdated, but there are still some funny stories if you take the time to look for them.

You know whats a really bizarre comic line? Its called Animal Man, and the artwork is just plain STRANGE but good, I cant link any of it here, so look into it for yourself, I believe the artist's name is Travel Foreman, and he has talent, but the artwork is just, strange. Also, I hate Frank Miller. That is all.

Dude, you have not seen stange artwork untill you have seen Jonathan "Dub" Gray's artwork. It is CRAZY!

though I'd still like to see some of this "Travel Foreman's" work if you can find any samples.

Unrelated to Animal Man, Frank Miller, a comic writer for DC who made Sin City and 300, was a very talented writer at one point, than fell into a slump of FAILURE making Batman a freaking supernatural entity nobody could touch, and had artists make things a bit, um, "fan servicing" sort of art, he was eventually fired due to a comic called Holy Terror that was just to bad for DC to publish. It now exists for some reason, I don't know who published it.

hey, don't insult the Dark Knight Returns. before that, from what I have heard, Batman was in a downward spiral of being lamer and lamer. I doubt that without that, we'd have Batman: The Animated Series or Arkham City/Asylum or even the new movies.

as for no one being able to touch him, I'm pretty sure that's a general trend in comics. Starting with the Death and Return of Superman.

Have you ever seen Batman Meets Spawn? In it Spawn (who has magic powers) gets pretty easily beaten by Batman, and basically he makes it all about how cool Batman is, but hardly mentions Spawn, who really does nothing. I never read Dark Knight Returns, but still, for my dislike of Miller, he did write really great comics, he even made The Terminator Vs. Robocop, which is enjoyable, but when he makes bad comics, they are BAD.

Well, then I guess he made batman awesome again, then made him too awesome. I've actually never read any actual Batman comics.
though a few of Batman's actual villains have magical powers, and Batman has always beaten them fairly easily, so that wasn't just him.

It's interesting that they changed Bane's nationality from Latin American to Russian.

To be honest, I like Russian Bane the mostest :D

The Dark Knight returns is right up there with the killing joke in terms of Batman stories.

As far as ongoing series nothing beats The Walking Dead
