I Googled "What do Canadians" and it popped up "call bacon" on the quick search.

They call ham bacon in Canada. Just plain ole' bacon.

Bacon actually refers to meat from the back of the pig. our bacon is actually not from the back of a pig, so technically, canadian bacon may be more bacon than our bacon.

My almost relevant question is why digestive biscuits are still called "biscuits" in Amurka (why they're called "digestive" is a mystery for another day).
Also how various foods became labelled with nationalities which presumably don't indicate their actual origin, as in yer french toast.

My favorite kind of bacon is apple wood smoked bacon, or that maple bacon. Also, if you chop up that maple bacon and put it into pancake batter, it is sooooooooo good.
