I'm glad to see some people use the word "werewolf" (and derivatives) correctly.

I hate when people talk about somebody "becoming a werewolf when the moon is full". Sure, they're fictional and don't even really interest me, but if you ask people what a werewolf is, it's "a person that turns into a wolf when the moon is full". Argh.

It's not really like, but similar enough to, saying that you become allergic to dogs when dogs are nearby, or that you become mortal when you die, or that wood becomes flammable when it catches on fire.
