The fun thing about being happy is you will always feel happy at some point, no matter how sucky things get. I could stand on your face for an hour and it would be horrible, but after I get off you'd feel happy, even though you're worse off than you started. It goes back to the whole being relative thing.

That is, unless your life is one giant decline into your inevitable death. But the odds of that actually happening are almost infinitesimally small.

I don't know what my happiest moment is, but I can say that you have to have had a variety of emotional experiences in order to actually have a sense of what you feel presently, that is, if you had never felt happiness, you wouldn't exactly know that you weren't feeling it, because you would have no idea what it feels like to be able to compare your feelings to it. That is, you can't know what it is that you don't know until you know it.

But that's waxing existential, isn't it?
