Officially Housepets is not really a Furry website, Rick likes to keep things nice and neutral (and for good reason, some people take the whole furry subculture thing way too seriously).

Housepets is a webcomic site which just happens to have most of its members as furries.

That's why it's awesome. It keeps us furry folk in line.

You want to know whats weird? The story of how I became a furry. So it started with this guy I know named Chris and he introduced me to airsoft, so I got myself some equipment but I was running into problems with it so I went on a forum to see if anyone could help me. Than I joined the off topic section like what I do here and just be me. Well after a while I start hearing about furries and I think "well that's sort of cool" one thing leads to another and here I am.

I consider myself to be a furry. Very much so. Have been for going on...two/three years? My fursona is a tall, relatively thin Red fox. (I love foxes they are my favorite animals... THOSE BUSHY TAILS!!! ) But I don't bother telling anyone at school or even my family that I'm a furry, though, because the people I have told are either like 'OMG NO WAY I DONT BELIEVE YOU LOL UR WEIRD' or '...um I'm gonna go and tie my shoe waaaaaaaaaaaaaay over there....' so i never tell anyone.

ANYWAYS I have attempted to draw my fursona and it totally looked, well, hideous! *GASP* yeah, not too great at drawing...

No one has to know people are furries. It's just a hobby; you like what you like, and people will notice. Whether or not they apply the "furry" label makes no difference.

Pinkie Pie is a character from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Search her name on YouTube if you want to hear her.

If they ask if you "like" animals, just say no. You can explain the difference if you need to. I've got furry fanservice on my wallpaper shuffle on my laptop but people mostly just shrug me off rather than call me a deviant.
