Being black's not weird, it's perfectly normal.
I'm a weido.
I like to be upside down, cram myself into small places, I walk circles just to entertain myself, and I've always been noticeably, if not alarmingly, more comfortable with something dangerous in my hands. O .O
Love me right now! Done.

Not really Mr. Bleach, I know of at least two others who are open about it. There is nothing wrong with that, just not as common me thinks.

I haven't seen any furries on my campus yet
I have a black friend I think might be a furry.

For the most part furry demographics mirror nerd demographics.

Also, let's be careful to not be racially insensitive.

Do you really need to tell your friend you're a furry? You know your friend better than we do, so if you feel comfortable with telling him, go ahead.

If you do, definitely go with something subtle, such as a clean desktop background, a picture in your notebook/binder, a pin on your shirt, something like that. Don't just blurt out that you're a furry, they'll probably think you're weird and that it's something more serious than it really is. Wait for him to approach you about it.

Otherwise, I'd stick to just keeping it to yourself. :geek:

I'll probably not tell my friend that I'm a furry. I know he wouldn't think any less of me, it's just that I don't really think he needs to know. If he asks, then I'll tell him, but other than that, he won't know. Thanks for the input everyone. :D

I'm going to agree with you on this guy with a name, really why bother telling people you are a furry it is unnecessary, its not a major life thing its just a hobby.

When I read that I was like "okay he wears ears and a tail, ummmmmm why?" But that last part is really quite strange, why does he have a collar? Those are for dogs, not people.

I read somewhere that this was Ian McKellan's philosophy for coming out to his parents about his homosexuality. He wasn't going to lie, but he didn't feel the need to tell them.
I feel this is a good stance for stuff like this.

I don't wear my collar unless I'm around other furries. It's not really creepy; it's just an animal-like accessory. People might get the wrong idea, though, so I don't wear mine normally.

But it's a cute collar. :3

It's no more strange than wearing a spike collar, or even a thick-chained necklace, if you ask me. It's just an accessory. :/

But you see, I don't get why people wear things like that either, I used to wear dog tags though, so I guess it is similar to someone wearing a collar. I dunno, I'm not going to say "you are a freak" if you wear a collar, I just find it a bit odd, buy I do see your point.

Wearing a collar in public is just odd to me, same thing with ears or a tail.
But it's just a fahion statement, so I don't read alot into it.

*giggles* I bet that if someone got me a collar, I'd wear it in public. At least around my wrist. But when I was at home, I'd wear it around my neck. I want a collar. But my parent's aren't too keen on my being a furry, so I doubt they'd let me wear a collar around the house. xD

And in recent times, I have become the stereotypical furry. Overly snuggly, and very giggly and friendly. I LOVE IT! x3

I will have to say that most furries are nicer on average to most other people, so that is quite the pro of being around some. (Well aware that this is not a furry forum)

*shudders*
I would never be caught dead in a collar or ears or tail.
I have a fursona but I've never literally said, I am a Corgi and everyone who sees me should be aware of this fact.
again, not judging, just my personal opinion on the matter.

Sometimes a need for hugs consumes me... particularly hugs from a person in fursuit. I don't have any readily-available resource for such hugs, but the feelings pass by the end of the day usually. I'd LOVE to have a partial fursuit myself... I'm actually still sketching out my fursona in hopes of having some sort of concept to work with when I do get the spare time and money to buy the materials.
