I heard from others that their problem with Fursuits is that you can not see the person wearing it, and the fact that there is a person concealed behind the suit is what makes them creeped out by it. Everyone has their problems with it I guess.

Who knows, it may just be the same reason people have a fear of Clowns and Mimes. ^^;

I can see that as being a legitimate fear for some people.

And clowns are messed up. They freak me out pretty bad... Watching the movie It didn't help either...

Mimes aren't much better... They pretend to be trapped inside something or lean against something that DOESN'T EXIST! And they never talk like there's some kind of Mime Vow of Silence or something... Super creeper...

There actually is a Vow of Silence with mimes, and they at least have a theme that's not UTTER CHAOS!
That's the second part that irks me about clowns in a long list I'd rather not delve into.

Back to furries though.
Any artists anyone would recommend(aside from Rick)? |D

I'm not so sure that blinking eyes would be any less creepier.
When I was back in high school, I had to volunteer at this nursing home for student service learning hours.
One day the residential T.V. was on Maryland State's PBS channel and there was this show called "Raggs".
It was some sort of music show with five animatronic canine characters.
I thought they looked as creepy as "The Wiggles" puppets.
I only recently found out that the "Raggs" show started out in Sydney, Australia which is where "The Wiggles" started out.
I apologize to Ebly if it sounds like I have painted Australia in a bad light.
I don't think it's a bad country.
As for people in fursuits, how much different do you think they are from the people who are mascots for a school or restaurant?
Would you expect people to know the difference if there was one? Just so we're clear, I always found these mascots/fursuits to be odd, quirky, and absurdly silly, even before I knew of the word fursuit. This gets me wondering why a person would have something against person who would ever like to act silly. Silliness isn't a bad thing. Can't the person in the cougar fursuit have as much of a positive impact on the community's citizens as the person who runs the canned food drive for the local homeless shelter?

I was also wondering, how would the term furry artist be defined?

I would say it's the amount of furry related artwork made by the artist, but then there are those who are only commissioned so it might not always be accurate.

However, usually, it's the artists themselves who have a final say on whether or not they are a furry artist. Because before we label someone as something, we should first know why they are doing it.

So I would say that a furry artist is someone who says they are, but that doesn't make them any lesser or greater than any other artist.
Of course, there's that matter of skill... = w=. . .

I hope I have answered your question.

Someone who almost-exclusively does furry art would be a furry artist in my opinion. Unless they do it for a job and wouldn't draw furries if they had a choice.

Waite... typically how much dose a fursuit run?

Usually 1000-1500 for a middle-of-the-road one.

That's likely a good idea. If you've got the ability to make one yourself, you can save yourself a ton of money.

Like Sleet said, it's in-between 1 and 1.5 grand just to get an average quality one from a lesser-known supplier. If you want a higher quality one, cost can easily peak over 2000 bucks. It's not a small investment, by any means.

Suuuure, Mr. Fox. ;P

And yeah, a lot of furries feel that way. I'd like to at least try one sometime. I plan on buying one eventually, after all!

Hm. I would never drop that much money on a fursuit - or any money at all, for that matter - but I might be willing to try one on ... for a little while. Those things look really, really hot and uncomfortable to wear for an extended period of time.

Because Yoshi is an EPIC Nintendo character and dressing in a Yoshi suit would be considered cos-playing instead of fur-suiting...?

It would be probably be hilariously bad. x3

I don't see myself ever buying one, unless I come up with a large sum of money I could throw away. Also, I would never wear a fursuit unless it was a fox and knowing myself I would never wear it in public.

They're just too much money... I know I'll probably never own one, but I'm okay with that. Of course, it would be a different story if someone could make me one for, let's say, 300 bucks. In that case, I'd probably get one.

Absolutely. In fact, they tend to work better with a piece of long-sleeved outer wear. That way you can tuck paws into the sleeves like gloves.

Edit: Oop.. ninja'd.

I think a partial fursuit would be a lot more comfortable and affordable, but then again it would be more difficult to hide that I'm a furry.
