I think it's widely agreed that that's the minimum requirement. But, because we're going off personal definitions here, I'll take your word for it. :3

Let me say this now. I am not a furry. I get confused for one so often, though, that I have had to put it in my sig, so I guess you could say that I am as close to being a furry as a human can get....

I have no idea why everyone is always so surprised that I am human...

A furry is a person interested in anthropomorphism. If you like animal people in fiction at least partially because they're animal people, I'd call you a furry.

and it has to have that "because they're animal people" element. I like them for their character development.

Okay, hold up... I like Housepets because their anthro's, and also because of the characters in it...

I do not believe the poll can be changed, but I can change how I have you recorded. Do you have a species in mind, or are you undecided/none?

Well sleet, I can't decide if I'm a fox or a wolf, so I'm going to say that I'm a fwulx. Yes that's fox and wolf because I'm weird that way.

I believe "folf" is the most common term for that.

Alright, contributing to the furry population here. I don't go to conventions or anything, but I do rather like anthro characters and have an FA account, so yeah.

And my fursona, following several years of evolution, is a wolf/snow leopard/rabbit sort of thing. Long story. That I probably can't remember all of anyway.
You've shattered my mind and rearranged the pieces into something beautiful.

Yes, I'm a furry. My "de facto" fursona is a GM white Labrador (partially based on a RL Manchester Terrier/Dachshund of the same name that died in 2003). Unlike many furries, my fursona is more independent and does have differing personality characteristics. He's actually more of a character of closest fit.

Ok, so I'm another in the "no" category. But I have nothing against it. I like furry stuff. I have friends that are avid furries. Heck, sometimes I even go to the local furry gatherings with them. But it's just not something I identify with, if ya kinda see what I mean.... I dunno.

But I was told by a very wise wiccan lady that my totem is a siberian tiger, so when I'm rich enough to be a Bond villain, I'll just get a pet one of those.

Indeed, or perhaps most furries haven't voted yet! I could have sworn that we have a lot more furries than this.

I remember Diss could give a re-vote to everyone or something! Though it is a bit early for that.

It also shows there's no such thing as a 'designated human.' Non-furs may be the minority, but they're not as underrepresented as one may expect.

Well, to get biologically technical, people have thumbs on their hands

...and foxes don't

Anyways, I wouldn't call myself a furry

I thought the proper term for fox-wolf hybrids was WOX. Maybe it depends on who the sire is...

Eh, whatever.

I am very surprised that so many humans are here. I thought the ratio was one out of four. I think some furries are just not voting here. I know this can't be right.

Just keep rearranging the letters in fox and wolf until you find something amusing!

I thought the difference between furries/non-furries would be a lot more than it currently is.

I know you wanted to avoid a "maybe" option, but:

On the one hand, I don't identify as a furry, nor do I want to, meaning that I wouldn't say "I'm a furry" as a description of myself.

On the other, based on my own (rather broad) definition, I do qualify--I prefer to draw animals rather than humans, as well as watch so-called "furry" movies and read webcomics with the same.

I guess you could say that I fit my definition but I don't want to label myself in that way.

Actually, I would have guessed you were since you have so gosh many RP characters. Which leads me to say.....

I would guess those who make their home in the RP thread could alter the ratio to what you expect more than not.

What are exactly the "Qualifications" to being a furry, cuz I like furry comics and art and stuff, but I don't have a fursona or any of that kinda stuff, so.... yeah

There aren't any, which is why it's such a gray area
That's why Sleets question was "Would you call yourself a furry", not "Are you a furry". The latter sounds objective, but the former is completely subjective.

I'm definetly a furry  as the species of a Basset Hound, I'm pretty lazy and short!
I'm a fairly interesting person once you get to know me, but seeing as nobody can successfully navigate my minefield I guess they'll never truly know.
