Perhaps it's because the strings are longer. I'm not sure.

Or because it's easier to finger a fifth/fourth exactly.

well Ive seen the mechanisums that hold together the guitar strings and they seem more mechanical while violin strings are held in with a more traditinal meathod

I would contest that.

And I'm willing to bet that he's not talking about the actual guillotine. Not sure what he is talking about, but oh well.

He's talking about the V-neck choke hold that slips the forearm under the jaw line and cuts the circulation off from the juggular veins on both sides of the neck.

Are you watching the UFC or something?

Well... fun fact: If you're ever getting choked, tuck your chin inwards to your chest, and turn your head toward the attackers chest, NOT the crux of their arm. If you get it right you can get choked forever and not get "choked" for real. The guillotine is the exception. *snickers. It just kills you. The best way to get out of it is to break something on the other guy and loosen his grip. There isn't an alternative unfortunately.

I just can't figure out why the left side of my body is sore today. I didn't do anything strenuous at all.
