Well, DC doesn't really count, 'cause it's named after George. It's probably just that Washington is/was a relatively common name, so things got named after them often. ("George" is even worse though).

And the "DC" is for Columbus (District of Columbia) because they couldn't decide on a name apparently.

And then there's also Washington state...

I've got nothing against the place, my friend is a Newfie, its just that I think they could've found a better name than "New Found Land".

Like maybe just "Land" would've been better so the rest of the world would think we always knew it was there...

There is a town just south of here called 'Normal Town'. there is also three more towns along the railroad line called First, Second, and Last.
