Steward explained what happened with Eudoant and with the cursed coin that he and Trinket had. Alright, Eudoant wants the spiritual energy from Earth so to be strong enough to face against Heaven, and unfortunately for us, there's a lot of mana in Egypt, as Tarot said and didn't forget. It's like you really want her to overtake you on the celestial stuff you forget about, Great Kitsune. Well, Eudoant will have to move of various thousand of kilometers, then.

He was being weighed down by the darkness in his heart. That darkness was purged as a side effect of purging the demonic influence.

Except the darkness in his heart was there BEFORE Kitsune defeated him and got rid of the energy and turned him and Trinket back to normal in order to stop him from transforming any more people. I don't think Kitsune's influence would get rid of that. Only because it might be considered tampering with free will which I assume is a big no-no.
