Ah yeah, Battleship a great allegory for getting your face eaten by a raptor

Gale won't like this.
Re: 2020/07/29 - Winner Eats Loser
Clever doesn't really say it,
Since they've met, it's only a short bit,
Clever girl sinks battleship,
Next, long claws into clothes rip.
Wolf and cub face down,
Raptor's smarter; Muldoon's the clown,
He thinks he's really bright-
But he's gonna get a bite.

You're a wonderful person! You can do this! Yes, you, person reading this!

North Star gets his revenge for Pueblo besting him in the woods.
Re: 2020/07/29 - Winner Eats Loser
Yeah, she taught him to position the PT boat so it was hard to find! He knew better!

Holding up the inevitable fate
and getting all the time out on the board;
the grand Feline shows his great skill here,
and that the Dino ‘plan’ is somewhat flawed.
There’s no point to his gun, right here and now;
it can’t stop the local’s deadly rampage.
They’re lucky he didn’t go ‘Monopoly’
or he’d really be holding them an age.
Has he kept the Raptor rapt long enough?
Of course distraction was really his aim.
He knew he was on for the chop, you see,
and this is his way of playing the game...

"Chutes and Ladders" might have worked, too. Monopoly, not so much....
Crumbs, this strip made me thing of all the rainy afternoons at YMCA summer camp playing "Battleship." Sigh.

Darn. I was really hoping that if Rick planned to deviate from the movie that he would let Muldoon live. I think he is my favorite character despite not seeing the movie. Maybe that would be just because of Pueblo though. LOL
Re: 2020/07/29 - Winner Eats Loser
What? Playing battleship with a raptor? And the guardian even lost against her... I hope she won't really eat him now. Funny next scene you had, Grape.

In the next movie I read that Muldoon's family sues Jurassic Park for his death.
Do you think Gale is more the suing type or the rip people apart type? XD

Given that Gale is now "civilized", i'd presume she does the rip and tear bit. Suing is tortuous and lasts years!

Re: 2020/07/29 - Winner Eats Loser
I sort of figured that. Why do you think I want to sue the family that misdiagnosed my grandmother and didn't do anything for her and when we found out it was too late?
Re: 2020/07/29 - Winner Eats Loser
You know, we never learned the names of the pieces in my family. It was always "the tiny one", "the 3-square one", "the 4-square one", and "the long one" (yes, i know there's two "3-square ones", we had enough arguments about that)

IIRC, the different ships were the Aircraft Carrier (5), Battleship (4), Destroyer (3), Submarine (3), PT boat (2)
Though now that I really thing about it, the 3 ship is probably a cruiser, and the 2 a destroyer.

Re: 2020/07/29 - Winner Eats Loser
InnBritain the 2er was the 'Tug'. Because we don't have PT boats.
Re: 2020/07/29 - Winner Eats Loser
Milton Bradley, wasn't it? Or Hasbro?dr_eirik wrote: ↑Thu Jul 30, 2020 2:51 pmIIRC, the different ships were the Aircraft Carrier (5), Battleship (4), Destroyer (3), Submarine (3), PT boat (2)

According to Amazon, it's Hasbro.

I just went and looked it up since I was now curious about it and wanted to get a definite answer. Milton-Bradley also makes a version.
Re: 2020/07/29 - Winner Eats Loser
The even more definitive answer : MB has been a division of Hasbro since 1984. Thanks Wikipedia!Amazee Dayzee wrote: ↑Fri Jul 31, 2020 12:34 am I just went and looked it up since I was now curious about it and wanted to get a definite answer. Milton-Bradley also makes a version.

Even when I was younger and actually paid attention to board games I never really took any interest in which company created what. LOL
