Gotta wonder why books like that get written in the first place. Humans probably wouldn't be interested in that kind of stuff, and squirrels in the wild should already know how to live like squirrels.

Gotta be knowledgeable on the subject.

Sometimes life is just Nuts
when you’re the size of a Locket
and you have to wonder why
you don’t plug your tail in the socket.
You get your learning from a book
because you're now considered a Narc;
it’s almost like your new people
haven’t been following your arc.
It’s good that there’s a book
(with pictures by Ryusuta)
but, when push comes to shove,
he’d be better with a tutor.

Okay, this is adorable!

No pocket edition?
That's got to be a pain,
Marion, what're you reading?
About how to play and gain?
He's tiny, that's for sure now,
But that won't surely stop him
From trying to make the best of it
Instead of winging it on a whim.
Ryusuta, thanks a bunch for this
It's great, I'm sure you know,
And of course, so says Diss,
It's cute, but he can't take it to go.

You're a wonderful person! You can do this! Yes, you, person reading this!

Sounds like a self help book someone gave Marion as a gift, but is just filled with squirrel jokes. "Always hide some of your nuts." "Never forget to watch your back" "Make sure you have an SO that is ferocious and many times your size..."
"Say, this is only tangentially relevant, but how many rings is your tail supposed to have?"

I thought we weren't going to see more of Marion for a while . Marion didn't have a designated eye color before; purple is an interesting choice.

Re: 2019/12/30 - Reading Material (by Ryusuta)
So glad you guys enjoyed what I came up with! It has been a few years since I worked on a guest page for the comic, but I was delighted to do so. I always enjoy doing guest stuff for my friend and mentor, and if I was able to ease his massive workload by even a tiny bit, then the pleasure was all mine!
I actually did have to ask what color Marion's eyes were since normally eye color isn't visible in the comic. I really, really liked his choice for it. I think Rick and I are both aficionados of unusual eye colors.
Thanks again, everyone! I'll definitely catch you all the next time around as well. =)

Well, purple irises wouldn't be that much weirder than natural lilac fur on a cat, though I wonder if his eye color would be seen as as unusual in that world as ours. Even though this is a guest comic, can we treat purple eyes as canon?

Please do.
Many of my characters have purple eyes. It's a good trait. :3

Maybe Marion wrote it, and he's reading the published version.CuriousCnidarian wrote:Gotta wonder why books like that get written in the first place. Humans probably wouldn't be interested in that kind of stuff, and squirrels in the wild should already know how to live like squirrels.

Maybe the book is a large size Lois and/or Marion’s mom wants to read it as well, to understand Marion and what he’s going through a little more. I wonder if it has a chapter for squirrels with tree nut allergies. Great job, Ryusuta!

I for one would welcome having read such a book or checklist like that, just in case I wake up one morning covered in fur, feathers or scales.

Did you know? Guest Week was so popular they made a sequel
Nice work, Ryusuta. For Lois' sake, hopefully this author also wrote "Living Life as a Bobcat." Then again she's fared well so far.

Re: 2019/12/30 - Reading Material (by Ryusuta)
Eh, Marion has to live a such life... Even the electric socket at his back looks concerned of that. But, it's good that there's a book on how to do that, also if not in pocket size, indeed. Maybe in the HP! universe there's a book for almost any animal specie. Probably King needed one during his first days of being a dog...
So, is this going to be a guest week? Very nice work, Ryusuta.

I am hoping that Marion does get at least a little bit of information that can help him from the book so then he won't have to do things the hard way.

I think that there are a lot more characters that are nuts in this universe than we realize.

Hopefully someone's written "Living Life as a Human". That's hard enough even if you're born as one.Cesco wrote:Maybe in the HP! universe there's a book for almost any animal specie.

I'm sure that there are plenty of books like that in the universe and also probably in real life.
