Funny, people were just wondering about this encounter yesterday.

I think King could stand to be a little more polite to the person who basically gave him everything he has right now, though. More or less.

Oh my dog! My two favorite characters together again! I don’t think my poor heart can handle this kind of excitement this soon into the new year.

Kings’s ninja skills are back! Look at him using the the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms move from Naruto. I’m so proud.

I just want to say how much joy I feel right now seeing good old King is still there. I think I feel tears coming. My King is still with us. that expression in the second panel, only good ol King could pull that off.

He was never gone. He just had no reason to be grumpy about the demi-gods as they weren't around. We were only finally seeing a different part of him.

Can I just say how surreal it is when the characters start referencing the things we discuss on the forum. It's like they'e watching us watching them. Is nothing sacred?

Yeah, but considering everything King had to go through just to get this life is pretty sad. I mean his life is now normal. He's happy but let's be honest it's not like Kitsune gave him the Milton's fortune, power to destroy all his enemies, the chance to reconcile with his parents, or even the ability to not have to get a job. King had to jump through a lot of hoops and Kitsune made it harder than it needed to be. Just because someone gave you something that was owed to you doesn't automatically mean you have to be forever grateful.

... I guess the fanservice arc is still going, it’s just now a Kitsune arc... I’m happy for him, calling attention to the fact he’s aware he’s in a fanservice arc despite nothing actually being different. Also, glad I’m not alone to be happy to see Grumpy King. Lord how I’ve missed him.

On the contrary, now that I think about it, now that the game's over, Kitsune's probably free to pop in and hang out to his heart's content, just for giggles. If anything, King should probably get used to seeing Kitsune more often than ever. He might as well get used to having a celestial friend.

That also would explain why Rick out of the blue is giving him an arc that focuses on him, got to get us used to the new reality... by the way, a single thought came to me, you think Kari might be in the Spa somewhere? I think it be a waste not to have the two characters mildly aware of the fourth wall able to talk at least once

Are they still in the wading pool? If they are I would expect King or Bailey to say something about keeping Kitsune away from the puppies. If they're not there than who is looking after the puppies.

The Hundred hand Slap is an attack used by the Streat Fighter character E. Honda that is visually similar to what King is doing in the last panel and is closer in name to the alt text.

They do seem to be in a bigger pool. The wading pool we saw earlier was round, and here they are leaning against a straight wall. Peanut and Grape are around, maybe they were convinced to pup-sit again.
