Title Text: it's an idiom of my people. It literally means "i will kill and eat you" as do most of our idioms

Wow, great job at integrating. I can't notice a difference between her and a human majority shareholder!

For some reason Gale being a adviser of a company fits her.

Also, gotta love Pueblo giving the thumbs up.

She was meant for this business.

Does make me wonder if animals will be better at business than humans.

Wouldn't that be funny

Also...how things are working out between her and the wolves now.

And once again today is proven, that the real hero of this arc, is Pueblo.

Um, what? What?! Like serious though, what?!

Okay, very funny Rick. Ha Ha, you got us. Now let’s see the wolves leave and go home so we can have a nice ending tied up with a bow.

Gale is so gonna take over the Miltons.

Pueblo is <3.

Keep pushing your mother's predatory instincts, kid ;_;7

I think her and Pueblo are going to fit in very well with everyone else. The question now is, where are they living? Are they in the Milton house? With the Wolves? Their own place? Are they even in Babylon Gardens? Or has the project started to branch out?

If the story is a slice of life ongoing, it never comes with a bow.

Did Poncho arrange a date with Gale?

What happened to King, Bailey and crew?

If all the questions get answered before new ones are raised the reader doesn't have as much of a reason to keep coming back. The sudden 'leap forward' is a standard way of catching up these days. It desn't mean, of course, that Rick ISN'T going to fill those details in, it just means it might not come in the way you expect.

Time passes and the Cougar does her job,
hunting new prey in a new environment.
Making her mark in the business world,
showing dignity in her boldest intent.
Pueblo acts as the discretionary soul,
her new conscience in petite furry form.
Where she’s hot blooded and yet cold
he’s cool minded and always warm.
Between the two, the yin and yang,
the Cats have never had such fun.
In the cut-throat world of business
the rise of a new name has begun.

No word on what happened with the wolfs...
Anyway, it's nice to see Gale doing well for herself. I wonder if the people she deals with knows she's not human. As a businesscougar, it seems Gale went a step up from collar and went full on with a blazer (no pants, as customary). I did not think Pueblo would were a T-shirt seeing as no other animal does. Anyway, great Job Rick; I was not have predicted this turn of events, but it works perfectly.

Do you think she’s referring to Milton Industries? Also what is up with Pueblo’s shirt? Is that supposed to be the company she’s talking about?

To be perfectly honest I was more leaning towards a job as a nurse given her medical experience. “You will take your medicine!”

And now we know why vicious predators don’t have jobs with humans. It creates an uncomfortable work environment.
“Gale, do we need to call in Linda from HR?” (If you know what I’m referring too then kudos)

Pueblo is more adorable with a t-shirt. My heart just melts.

Whoa! You know when I saw Friday's comic after Gale realize that civilization is an option, I would assume Gale would apologize to Miles for assuming they were reclaiming their territory. But I never would've expected her to be a demanding businesswoman with an iron fist. And being good at persuading just to get the job done. I still say she's responsible for "Four Finger Discount" Jack's missing arm, but with no proof to back me up other than that grudge, Jack mentioned in https://www.housepetscomic.com/comic/20 ... greetings/, its still debatable.

Maybe a medical company? Or a private hospital.

Okay, GRAND theory time. If I had to guess (and you know I do) I would say that this can continue one of two ways.
Option one: we flashback to June (or April) to see the wolves stumble back to camp where King is waiting for them and they return home so we can wrap this story up having learned our lesson about the wild being terrible and everyone sucks it up and gets a real job.
Option 2 (the more likely option): we see what the wolves are up to six months from now (that would be December by the way if my dates are correct. If it is actually Oct then that would mean that this entire ordeal took place in April for some odd reason). Anyway we find Miles in his tweed jacket telling the other wolves how Gale is adjusting (For informations sake we see the others wearing their outfits detailing their jobs as well as the cubs in their new school uniforms). Then they remark on how the last six months have been and how the camping trip wasn’t as much as a disaster as it seemed.

I think the Miltons would know to listen to her the first time. I don't understand Pueblo's shirt either. If there is some sort of pun or double meaning in "shirt tails" I'm not seeing it. The best I can come up with is he has a tail and is wearing a shirt.
Char89Charizard wrote:I really love seeing Gale's paw pads on this one. Also, what are entrails?
Her black paw pads do look nice. It is odd though, considering they were pink when she was caught in the snare (though they were black when fighting Miles). Oh, and entrails can also refer to all the internal organs, not just intestines.
fenrirblack wrote:...(For informations sake we see the others wearing their outfits detailing their jobs as well as the cubs in their new school uniforms)...
Would that mean we'd get a cool splash panel like in Cake And Punch Will Be Served?

Well, i guess it could be referring to shirttails like on tuxedos like coattails.

Something like that maybe. Miles can be like "Look at you all. I'm so proud. See that wasn't so hard." Then it's a shot of everyone dressed up and in their poses or more likely them sitting on the couch and chairs going like "Ughhhhhhhh....."
I just need to see Miles in tweed. He can totally pull off tweed.

Beyond, how cute Pueblo is I love the other details. Like we have the most cliche business desk complete with a Newton’s cradle and a BIC pen. I think that’s the new iPhone she’s using. Also the fan in the background showing how accustomed she has become to civilization although I don’t know why it’s on if it’s fall in Illinois. I mean she should be able to control the temperature of her office right? Why is Pueblo there anyway? Shouldn’t he be home or in school with his harem.

I guess Miles became a teacher and his pups go to school, about the others...dunno, but I'm sure we will find out before this arc ends.

I just realised Gale seems to have a nasty temper, I first thought it was because of all that "revenge" thing.

I'll bet this isn't what Miles was anticipating when he mentioned 'civilization' in the last strip. I can just see him now, holding his head in his hands while whimpering "What have I done, what have I done..."

I do like Gales' outfit though.

I thought that looked more like a heater. Then again, it wouldn't make any more sense for a cougar with a fur coat and cloths to need a heater. As for Pueblo being there, its possible she is working from home and Pueblo doesn't go to school (or this is in the afternoon after school got out).
Frank wrote:But could the territory support less predators?
That is a legitimate ecological question. I can see three possible outcomes: one, now that the territory is vacated a new predator emigrates to fill the niche. Two, the predators were smart enough to limit their population, so the prey might be as well and reproduce less now that no one is getting eaten. Third, the prey population booms, the area is defoliated, and there is total ecological collapse.

Option the fourth: Prey species population booms forcing humans to "correct" the issue.

Shirt Tales is an old cartoon from the 1980's. They lived in a hollow tree house, sort of like Jessica. Each had a power or ability and they all wore shirts. The shirts would have words appear on them that reflected their thoughts or emotions of the time.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirt_Tales

As for Pueblo, maybe it is Bring your Kid to Work day? Also, he's not bound by human schooling laws, or the wolves would have been in school a long time ago negating the entire story premise. It could also be that as a kids he's got a more elastic concept of what to expect from life so he has adapted to civilization faster and is coaching his mother in fitting in.

60% of the stock? The word you're looking for is "owner".

PS: Rocking the pantsless look, Gale.
IceKitsune wrote:The question now is, where are they living?
Midtown Manhattan, one of those nice hotels overlooking Central Park, far enough from Wall Street that she can't just run out and eat people when they tick her off.

PPS: I guess "Shirt Tails" is Rick staying clear of copyright issues.

The quick transition 6 months later makes it pretty funny :D

And Pueblo is just so cute with his thumbs up :)

Now I can't wait to see an interaction between Gale and Miles to see a possible reconciliation (and to have the confirmation Miles has been doing fine despite being nearly choked by Gale :? )

I'd say after as, y'know, the Wolves were IN the Temple Crashers arc at the beginning and, in 'real time' that only took half a day?

Could there be a "wabbit season / duck season" arc in our future?
