My guesses are either that fourth (fifth?) possible member of Joey's team because they showed up and suddenly disappeared.

Or either Sabrina, Tarot, or Fox. Although it did not show that they were going to go in the temple, Tarot did say to Fox "Come on, we need to get you a hat" on their last appearance in the arc.

Even if neither of things happen, I need to know who this is! (And I also need to see Res's true were tiger form)

Well, it's unlikely any of 'Team Tarot', since we would have heard the other members mention her sudden appearance. The Cloud's localized, so it only fills where Grape and the Kobolds are. We saw Res Run in, and likely shifted in the cloud, since being a 'Weretiger' means he can transform at will. Rufus is out because he's not appeared since they entered the Temple, meaning he's not allowed in.

However, we didn't see the Max or Peanut rush in either, and the 'Fifth Member' is likely a member of a Team that Rick was too lazy to add. And yes, I said it. He didn't add another team because he didn't bother to write other characters who would not appear on Panel again, and even then, the event was clearly supposed to have more pets in there, Rick not giving the 'Mystery pet' a face because they're only throwaways.

Anyway, what she did was likely pet an Unconscious Kobold on the Rear... If not Peanut, since Max didn't jump in due to being a Ninja, and Grape said, 'You're not Res'. Either that, or what we've seen so far is Not Res' Weretiger form and more his 'Default state'.

I actually think it might just be a reverse reveal, as odd as that sounds. I'm pretty sure the mystery person is just Res' were-tiger form, but Res was put in the tags because we're aware he's in the smoke already. In context of how this is being shot (figuratively speaking of course), we've never been shown Res' were form. The scenes cut right before or after the transformation happened, and now he's being intentionally obscured by the smoke. Grape would not recognize Res' "physique" because of the transformation, and Res would probably just be impressed/confused at the fact that she can identify people in such a way .

A bit of a stretch, but considering the build up to Res' full were form I wouldn't be surprised.

Well, firstly, nothing indicated that. The teams that are participating are the only ones that would likely join: Peanut's Group out of curiosity, Joey's Group because they're nerds, and Tarot's group out of obligation. Rick's not some big-shot company that tries to save time by cutting major corners (not to say he probably doesn't cut corners from time to time), what we saw was as intended. Also, Joey's team was the only team to go in before them from the looks of it, and no one would go backwards in the temple, how would it be another team member? Also the "mystery pet" you mentioned would show up right after the smoke cleared, so the whole "not showing their face because they're only thowaways" thing wouldn't make sense. Heck throwaways STILL get their face shown in the comic, we've never not seen a character that was present in a scene.

To our knowledge, the Kobold's cant talk, though it would still make the most sense I guess. Not sure how Max being a Ninja sections him out though, I mean smoke's kind of a ninja's thing, he'd be more likely than Peanut. But yeah, the thing with this being Res' true form, that I agree with.

Smoke clears revealing Rufus in a white trimmed mens black yukata holding an unusually wide katana with the sheath across his back, and commenting that grape can let go of his tail now. (we've already had naruto references made in the threads because of the ninjas so why not)

Meanwhile Reshulk is in the background mauling like 5 things at once.

I can't see the tags, so I have no idea what's going on, although I know that Grape and Res are in the smoke.

I'm not going to put any money on this, but my guess would be that Peanut is the one being touched. It makes sense that Peanut wouldn't already know that Grape can tell who's who from that. (Peanut is adorkable and naive.)

My guess is that when Peanut drew the cat tail, Grape's feline curiosity was stirred up. We've already seen her pull some cat-like shenanigans. (Going into the shower when Mr. Sandwich was in there is one example.) Perhaps she saw Peanut's tail wagging in his sleep once and couldn't resist batting at it. (Dog's tail = laser pointer = ATTACK!)

That reminds me of something... (forgive me if this was discussed endlessly in earlier years of the comic. I wasn't yet following.) We haven't really seen much "animal behavior" in the comic, except to make fun of it. (We've seen Peanut enjoying a belly rub, but only to let Grape mock him for enjoying it.) We've never seen anyone (even attempt to) pet any of the pets, and we've never seen any of the cats purr, even in the Galifrax arc. Is the idea of petting/purring being deliberately avoided in the comic, or is it something that's just been pushed aside for the sake of moving the story along? (Or am I just being ridiculous?)

Looks like Res did a good work defeating all those creepy creatures, but the smoke is still too much intense that... Eheh, keep your hands off, Grape! There are three question marks as tag...
