Who would've thought Grape was in denial?
Re: 2017/06/16 - Actually Pushing Up Daisies
You know Rufus, that is your fault, the whole "Grape not believing you're dead" thing.
Re: 2017/06/16 - Actually Pushing Up Daisies
He's right, you know. So, seems that someone had told Peanut and neglected to tell Grape.Gbr23 wrote:You know Rufus, that is your fault, the whole "Grape not believing you're dead" thing.
Re: 2017/06/16 - Actually Pushing Up Daisies
Grape just doesn't want to deal with his shenanigans again =3
Also, Rufus is going to think these two are dating. I can already tell.

So Grape still recalls the farm,
where nothing ever said meant dead.
It's why she reacts without alarm
and won't believe he's Brown bread.
She's expecting more old jokes
and won't give in to well founded fears
as the old fellas lines she pokes
and she doesn't hear him, it appears.
Peanut doesn't know what went on
back on the farm, in the years that passed,
He only heard that Old Rufus was gone
and wonders how long Grapes' doubt will last.

R: I'm pushing daisies.
G: So you work at a flower shop now?
R: I've gone to the Great Beyond.
G: So you've been world travelling?
R: I died!
G: Really? You're hair color looks natural.

You'll have to be persistent, Rufus. Unless you have another way?

Grape cannot let go of a joke from 8 years ago.CHAOKOCartoons wrote:Hey, I'd find it hard to believe this guy too!Saturn381 wrote:Who would've thought Grape was in denial?
I'm surprised Peanut is taking the news well, you'd figure it was more of a surprise for both of them.
Re: 2017/06/16 - Actually Pushing Up Daisies
When is Rufus going to point out the Halo? I mean, all he has to do is have Grape wave a hand at the Halo and reveal it's not suspended by anything.
But yes, it's his own fault for making all those jokes... Though I've only ever seen him make several of them in one scene... Unless Rufus actually made more offscreen.

On the next... Wire in the Blood...

This is what Rufus gets for abusing metaphors when he was alive. x3

When he started spelling out Dead, I started having flashbacks to the Gamers. xD
Hunk, the Mercenary: "You ********! T'ought I was DEAD did not you?! Well I'm NOT!--but soon YOOR goin to be! Cause I'm going to kill you dead! D'yah hear me?! D-E-D, dead!"

There are many words and phrases that can cause an experienced wizard to tremble in fear. Chief among them being "oops."
Re: 2017/06/16 - Actually Pushing Up Daisies
Oh, good Peanut already heard of Rufus' death. Eheh, Grape is faking to don't understand, but I know that the thing is too absurd to hear. You all can see his halo, can't you? Shrugging Peanut is so cute. Probably he never looked into Grape's ears.

Silly Grape he isn't making a joke this time.
Re: 2017/06/16 - Actually Pushing Up Daisies
So, Grape was probably told about Rufus's death, but chose not to believe it thinking it's just a prank.
Or she believed it and didn't expect Rufus to show up again, leading her to think it's all an elaborate ruse when he decided to join them.
I'm going with the latter.

Re: 2017/06/16 - Actually Pushing Up Daisies
To be fair, Grape is probably more willing to believe zombies than coming back from heaven with a halo. Depends on what she believes is more realistic. =3

Well, considering grape has quite a bit of experience with the supernatural, even to the point of having a feather fallen off of a demigod stored in her collection, i don't think angels are the strangest thing shes seen at this point. In fact this is likely one of the tamest encounters shes ever had. I mean what with peanut dating a Babylonian god and her having visited several alternate reality's personally. Yeah i don't think angels are a stretch for her belief...GameCobra wrote:To be fair, Grape is probably more willing to believe zombies than coming back from heaven with a halo. I cant help but think she knows, and Grape's just messing with him as payback for last time.
It's what i would do.

Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.
